Flash back a few years and my eyes laid on the Terrible One Cyclops stem. Something about the design left me just drooling. I waited and waited and… well, I heard it’s almost ready now. However, about 9 months back, I caught my first look at Chase Hawk’s signature Odyssey Tomahawk stem. It had a similar look to the Cyclops and offered up some unique features that were similar to the Elementry stem that I was always pretty fond of. I figured it was definitely something I’d like to give a go. So, I ordered one up when it was released and have been giving it a go for about two months now. Let’s take a closer look and find out what I thought.

If there’s one rider that really can constantly blow my mind these days, it’s Tom Dugan. His riding is about as wild as his personality and I can honestly say I’ve laughed harder watching his edits than most of the specials I’ve seen on Comedy Central. The other week BMX got a pretty good scare when word started popping up on Twitter that Tom went down hard during the Red Bull Metro Pipe contest and was in a coma. It got a little scary there for a bit, but luckily Tom pulled through and is on his way back to blasting. I figured since he had some down time that it would be a good time to finally fire out an interview with him. Tom keeps it pretty simple, but it sounds like he’s definitely got some good things coming that he mentions in this. So let’s do this!

Happen to be looking for a hub guard for that Odyssey Vandero 2 hub you are running? Well, you are in luck since they just dropped their new hub guard specific to that hub. Here’s a few words from them about it…
“This fine example of protective awesome-ness is our new Vandero 2 hub guard. It’s made from forged 7075-T6 aluminum, which allows it to be strong, light and affordable. This guard replaces the existing axle collar on our Vandero 2 hubs and protects the hub and spokes. Nice and simple.” – Odyssey
Broc Raiford throws it down at The Compound in Louisiana for this new Odyssey edit!
“When we were filming for Broc’s ODSY Vision, we got rained out a couple times and found refuge in the local indoor park, The Compound. To say Broc has the place dialed is an understatement. In just a few short hours, the dude was able to fire out this edit.”

Odyssey posted up their latest print ad featuring Gary Young and their new Lincoln stem. Like what you are seeing? Set it as your background right here.

Most of us take for granted the amount of time and effort it takes to design a good bike part, especially the ones which have been gracing bikes all around the world for many years now. Over the course of the next few months I’m going to be doing a series of interviews with the people who are responsible for creating and designing some of the most iconic and inovative products in BMX.
It’s not that often that a relatively basic product that’s almost 10 years old suddenly explodes overnight and goes on to be sold in the millions. The chance of going to your local skatepark nowadays and not seeing a pair of Odyssey Twisted PC Pedals on a bike is very rare. From entry level completes, to the bikes of many pro-riders, the Twisted PC is regarded as THE plastic pedal. I caught up with Odyssey’s Product Design Manager Chris Cotsonas to find out more about the humble origins of one of the best selling products in BMX and how it’s changed since it’s birth fifteen years ago.
