Since we started doing photogalleries we’ve been getting a ton of real good submissions from all over the world from some of the best in the game to up and coming guys. It’s been pretty amazing to say the least. As long as we keep getting the submissions we’ll be dropping photogalleries to give these guys some shine time. Brandon Squires is one of those up and coming guys from the Philadelphia area that has been getting the hang of things and producing some real solid shots. He recently sent through a set of photos for you guys to take a peek at so get to it!
Every week I really just want to provide some sort of feature that is not only an interesting read but a helpful one as well. I was thinking about a few different options for this week and ended up settling on talking a bit about shooting contests and throwing a few useful tips out there. Although not everyone is out there shooting any kind of events/contests on a regular basis it is a great skill to have when the time comes. The more prepared you are, and the more you know the better off you will be. I have been shooting contests for quite some time now and have shot more than I can even begin to count so I have picked up a few things along the way. Take a minute to find out some insider info and feel free to learn a thing or two.

It’s that time again for another Through The Lens photo contest! This time around we’ve partnered up with a Quintin Co. for some dialed prizes for your photos.
This time around we’re looking for your best photo that you shot!
Here are the rules:
1. The photo can be of street, park, trails or even flatland if you
want.
2. You are allowed to use flashes or whatever equipment you want to
shoot the photo.
3. You are allowed to edit the photo. Here’s a little advice on how to
make your shot look good.
4. You are allowed to enter more than once.
5. All photos must be ORIGINAL and never before seen!
6. The photo MUST be shot by you. Stealing photos for this is sleezy!
You don’t want to be sleezy.
7. This contest is open to all amateur photographers. Professionals, you
are already getting paid for your work, so let’s let these guys have
some fun.
The contest will run until September 24thth where we will pick the top 10 photos. Then we will pass the top 10 on to the Quintin Co. team to pick the top 3 photos!
1st place will get a Cream Duke hat and a pair of Quincy Chinos.
2nd place will get a Black / Camo Nitniuq hat and Olson beanie.
3rd place will get a Charcoal Script hat.
To enter, head over to our Facebook Page and drop your photo on the wall. Please put “TTL Contest #3” as the description of the photo just to make sure we don’t miss it! Easy as that!
On September 24th we will take all the photos and pick the top 10 winners and let the Quintin team pick the top 3. We
will also drop a photogallery featuring some of the honorable mention submissions as well! We will notify the winners through a Facebook message, so keep your eyes out for that if you submit a photo!
Now, get to work! The clock is ticking! Oh, and don’t forget to Like Quintin Co.’s Facebook Page while you are at it!
Please leave any questions in the comments!
I think the first time I came across Ryan Scott was on Twitter. I don’t remember why or how, but yeah. Over the course of time, we ended up going back and forth quite a bit. The other day, Ryan sent through some of his latest work for us to check out to do a possible photogallery. I already knew Ryan shot damn good photos and I decided it would be best if we could get an interview out of him to go with the photogallery so you can really get a feel of who is behind the lens on this one. I’m really stoked on how this came out and I think after you check out the interview and see the gallery, you will be stoked too! Check it!
Name: Ryan Scott

Nick Bott – Double peg to toothpick hanger, Norristown, PA. I met Nick earlier this year and right away I was surprised we hadn’t crossed paths because he’s so damn good. Also, his dog, Philip, happens to be one of the coolest dogs on the planet and can be found gracing Nick’s Instagram on an almost daily basis.

I’ve been thinking about doing something like this recently, but never really had the time to figure it all out. Basically, what I want to start doing is featuring some photographers who are just getting into it but already shooting pretty solid photos. Think of it like a Shooter on the Dig site, but with guys who are newer to photography and not as established as the guys that get featured on Dig. John O’Connor recently sent over a few of his photos and I figured this would be a good chance to try it out. If you have some photos or know somebody coming up in photography get in contact with me…
