Profile Racing – Tech Tip: Comparing Chromoly To Titanium

June 30, 2017

Have you ever considered the different ways you can save weight on your bike? If you have, you have undoubtedly looked into what you could run on your bike with Titanium parts instead of Chromoly. This weeks Tech Tip from Profile Racing takes a look at the caparison when it comes to weight and which material you should be running.

Profile Racing Tech Tip Comparing Titanium and Chromoly

As many of you know, Titanium is quite a bit lighter than Chromoly. Above is a comparison of Profile Racing axles and bolts in Chromoly and Titanium showing you the difference. Although Titanium is lighter, sometimes it’s not ideal for the style of riding you might do. If you’re hard on parts and like to grind, you’re better off with Chromoly. If you’re more of a ramp or trails rider, you would be a candidate for Titanium. The crew at Profile released their latest Tech Tip which compares the two materials in weight and the pros and cons of each. You can check it out right here — Tech Tip: Weight, What? Comparing Titanium to Chromo.

Profile Racing Warranty Policy Explained

June 23, 2017

If there’s one thing I wish more people understood in BMX is what a warranty actually covers…. Get the details on the Profile Racing Warranty Policy!

Profile Racing Warranty Policy

If you have ever worked in the BMX industry, especially in a position where you’re dealing with customers for a brand, there’s a good chance you have dealt with a broken part and something that may or may not qualify for a warranty. Unfortunately, BMX is hard on bikes and things will break and that’s just the nature of things. Even more unfortunately is that a large number of riders believe that they deserve their product to be warrantied when something breaks from wear and tear and doing something that would cause the product to fail. We actually went into great detail on the What Does A Warranty Cover? piece when we released it last year explaining the different levels of warranties, what is covered, what isn’t covered, tips and tricks when it comes to the process.

… Unfortunately that probably hasn’t reached nearly enough people to get everyone on the same page and there’s probably a brand getting chewed out on Instagram or Facebook right now by somebody who broke a part and expects a warranty… They’re probably making threats of ruining the brands reputation or calling up a lawyer. Seriously… It happens a lot more than you might think and it never gets any less ridiculous.

The crew at Profile Racing decided to put together their own guide explaining their different tiers of warranties from their Lifetime Warranty to their 30 Day Manufacturer’s Defects warranty, the crash replacement program and more. You can learn all about the Profile Racing Warranty Policy right here!

After you check that out, we HIGHLY suggest you check out What Does A Warranty Cover?. Seriously.

If you don’t fully understand what is covered in a warranty, we advise you take some time to read into both of these features that we just mentioned above because there’s a good chance you will find information that will help you understand better. It’s also important to note that virtually every brand follow similar policies when it comes to warranties in BMX. I could go on and on about the importance of this, but it will turn into a biter rant from some brutal experiences with incredibly rude and uninformed people, haha. So we’ll just wrap this up right here.

Profile Racing – Dillon Leeper: 2 Years on the Z-Coaster

June 15, 2017

It has been about two years now since Profile Racing released their patented Z-Coaster Hub that combines a cassette and a freecoaster all into one dialed hub. Dillon Leeper has been running the hub since the prototype stages and has been on his current hub for over a year and a half. Here’s a few words on his thoughts about the hub and a couple real solid riding clips! Take a peek!

“Two Years ago we met up with Dillon Leeper to discuss his advantages of using the Profile ZCoaster. Now, two years later, we did a follow up and asked, overall, what do you like most about the hub?

Check it and see…

This will seal up our three part series on the Profile ZCoaster…thanks for tuning in, thanks for the support!”

Profile Racing – Three Advantages of the Z-Coaster with Dillon Leeper

June 1, 2017

The Profile Racing freecoaster hub known as the Z-Coaster has been getting a lot of great reviews since its release because of the unique functionality that allows the hub to function as a freecoaster and a cassette hub, giving you a wider range of options for tricks. Profile caught up with Dillon Leeper who has been riding the hub since the prototype stage a few years ago to talk about three of the advantages that he likes the hub for the most. Hit play and check out what he had to say!

“While riding with Dillon Leeper in Richmond, we decided to do a quick video on what he feels are the three advantages to using the Profile ZCoaster.

Pedal pressure for:
1. Manual to 180’s
2. Backward smith to reverts
3. Wall Slaps

The Profile ZCoaster is the best of both worlds…a freecoaster and a cassette.

As with all Profile Racing products, it is made right here in the USA.” – Profile Racing

Profile Racing – Grant Castelluzzo “Tech Support”

May 10, 2017

When you think of technical grind combos, there’s a good chance Grant Castelluzzo‘s riding instantly comes to mind. Grant is notorious for putting together some ridiculous grind combos with all for our his pegs that usually require a rewind or two to fully understand what he did. Here’s his latest for Profile Racing that has a pretty laid back vibe to it, but the riding is so technical that’ll definitely have your head spinning a bit. Take a look!

“For Grant Castelluzzo, tech riding is a lifestyle… Grant might be doing to most grinds in a single link in BMX right now. Think about that. Grant put some months in for Profile BMX with Scott Marceau behind the lens and this is the end result.
