World of X Games – Ryan Nyquist “I’m Afraid of Heights”

August 3, 2020

The latest interview for the World of X Games interview sits down with Ryan Nyquist for just shy of an hour conversation where Ryan talks about a ton of different topics while sweating it out in him and his wifes hot yoga / cycling studio. Ryan is always super entertaining and has a ton of great stories, making for a super good listen with plenty of laughs. If you got the time, definitely get on the play button.

“With the exception of a few vert riders, most of the mid-school BMX professionals from the 1990s and early 2000s have moved on from X Games competition. Not Ryan Nyquist though. Ryan started competing at X Games in 1997 and still gets invited. He’s not getting invites based on legacy either; he’s still progressing his skills on BMX Dirt and Park at a remarkable pace. Despite the everyday demands of family life at age 41, Nyquist manages to make riding a daily priority, and he’s expanded his skills to incorporate some of the world’s toughest lip trick combinations into his riding. Normally, most riders would be happy with a simple x-up over a box jump at age 41, but Ryan Nyquist isn’t done with his endless trick list just yet. Here, Brando catches up with Nyquist from the desert…” – X Games

Ryan Nyquist – Welcome To My Backyard

July 28, 2020

Over the years Ryan Nyquist has had a bunch of cool houses and ramp setups, but his current setup looks like a ton of fun. Hit play to let Ryan give you the tour of his yard from the trampoline and slack line to the mini bike track, pump track and, of course, his dialed ramp setup! Plenty of fun in this one, and Ryan throws down on his ramp to wrap things up, so hit play and take it all in.

“USA Cycling Backyard Cribs!!! Have a look at my backyard in this little video I did for USA Cycling!” – Ryan Nyquist

Mic’d Up With Ryan Nyquist – Simple Session 20

February 9, 2020

Whenever the snack champion, Ryan Nyquist, gets a camera and a mic in front of him, you know you’re going to get a ton of laughs. Ryan was Mic’d up during a Simple Session practice. As expected, Ryan was full on trash talking, getting some gossip on the money situation from contests and sponsors, throwing down, wanting to ride for Corny and more. This is just shy of 19 minutes, and well worth a look if you want to get some laughs and see some dialed riding.

“It’s been four years since I did a mic’d up with Ryan Nyquist (in the Ride BMX), so I figured it was time we do another. Jump on board with the legend as he pokes and prods his fellow competitors (mostly Boyd Hilder) during practice at Simple Session 2020.” – Our BMX

Woodward VIP – Ryan and Jameson Nyquist

January 15, 2020

Last summer Ryan Nyquist took a trip to Woodward East, which he has done countless times over the years. However, this time around was special because it was the first time he brought his son Jameson to camp to ride and have some fun. As expected, these guys had a blast and there was plenty of dialed riding to take in. We can only imagine what Jameson might be doing in the future if he keeps it up!

“BMX Legend Ryan Nyquist gets to share his son’s FIRST experience at Woodward Camp with you guys! Check-in with the Nyquist’s as Ryan shows Jameson the ropes here in PA!” – Woodward East

Magic Number – Ryan Nyquist

January 13, 2020

Ride UK coming through with another round of Magic Number. This time around they sat Ryan Nyquist down to find out what his 3 tricks he would do, 3 spots to ride and 3 riders to ride with for the rest of his life if that’s all he could do. This has a bunch of classic riding clips from Ryan spanning from 1998 all the way up to some more recent clips. Ryan’s answers are great and a few of the answers were unexpected, so hit play and take it all in!

“If you had to pick just 3 tricks you could do, 3 spots you could ride, and 3 riders you could ride with, what would you choose?

In MAGIC NUMBER, that’s what we want to know. After kicking off the series with Dennis Enarson and Jordan Godwin, we continue with the living legend, Ryan Nyquist.

What do you think of his answers?” – Ride UK
