Subrosa – Trey Jones Signature Wild Child Frame

Get the full specs and details on the Trey Jones signature Wild Child frame from Subrosa!

We caught wind of the Trey Jones signature Wild Child frame from Subrosa a little while back, but we didn’t get all the specs and details until now! The Wild Child frame is made from 100% 4130 chromoly tubing with a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 8.75″ standover height and a 13.5″ chainstay length (Slammed) / 13.75″ (centered). You can find a 120mm tall CNC machined head tube, top and down tube gussets, butted top and down tubes, a built in seat post clamp, a wishbone on the seat seat bridge, a wild looking chainstay bridge, grind plates on the chainstays, 6mm thick dropouts and removable brake mounts!

The Wild Child frame is available in Black and White colors with 20.75″, 21″ and 21.25″ top tube lengths! Trey has been a pro rider for a long time now, and he’s ridden and seen tons of bikes come and go, so when we started to design the Wild Child frame he knew exactly what he wanted. If you don’t know much about Trey, he’s loves the midschool era of BMX. So first thing with his frame was that he wanted to distinct look of a seat stay wishbone.

Trey is also a peg-less rider (even though he can crush a ledge or rail if he wanted to) but he still loves to grind or slide stuff, so he needed some protection. Pedal grinds specifically can wreak havoc on you chain stays, so we wrapped both sides with a chromoly plate to prevent grinding through it and denting.

Trey also wanted to pay homage to Subrosa frames before his, and came up with a pretty awesome idea to replace the snakes in the original Subrosa Pandora decals with Jesco. Along with the decals we re-worked the popular Pandora chain stay plate with an updated Jesco version wrapped in snakes.

Sneak Peek: Subrosa – Speedwolf Frame

Subrosa are getting into the race game with their new Speedwolf frame…

Here’s a bit of news we didn’t expect to see. Subrosa have released a sneak preview of their new Speedwolf Race Frame they’ve been working on down in Florida! As many of you know, Subrosa hasn’t done anything race specific in the past, so this is a bit of a surprise. It looks like they’ve had their guy Greg Lanthorne putting his all into making one hell of a frame. Below you can find photos and specs, but you can also check out a full bike check and interview with Greg about the frame and how this all came about over on the Subrosa Website!

Subrosa – Jabe Jones Welcome Video

Subrosa released a banger of a video welcoming Jabe Jones to the team!

It hasn’t been a secret that Jabe Jones has been riding for Subrosa for a few months now, but it’s safe to say the clips he’s been working on for this welcome video have been. Subrosa just dropped the video and, as expected, it turned out absolutely amazing. Jabe has an eye for spots many people wouldn’t consider or even want to ride, but he gets it done. Crazy drops and gaps, wild gap to grind setups and much, much more. This is one of those BMX videos you watch, and you think there’s no way you could possibly step it up to a crazier setup, and then he does. The last few clips in this video are absolutely insane, so stick around for the whole video!

“Jabe Jones joined the Subrosa team towards the end of 2017 and has been killing it non-stop ever since.

Juggling between his final year of High School, working at Sparkys, doing art and riding of course, he managed produce one of his best edits yet.

This is just another example of how fast Jabe is progressing as a rider, and he’s enjoying every minute of it.

With Jabe Jones‘ official welcome to the Subrosa team video coming on Thursday, the crew at Subrosa decided to catch up with Jabe for a new Bike Check giving us a closer look at his setup. Subrosa – Mark Burnett Welcome Video

Here it is! Mark Burnett’s welcome to Subrosa video has dropped and it’s absolute FIRE.

It was announced a few weeks back that Mark Burnett had parted ways with his long time sponsor, Sunday Bikes, to join the Subrosa team. Once the news dropped, Mark hopped a plane to Arizona and went to work stacking a TON of heavy clips for this welcome video! Even on a short timeline, Mark was able to stack all sorts of wild clips from big grinds to crazy combos filled with nose balance, barspins, tailwhips and more. This turned out damn good and it’s an absolute MUST SEE. Expect to see plenty more from Mark this year since it seems like the Subrosa team have been making some big moves for 2018.

Mark Burnett’s first Bike Check since joining the Subrosa squad…

It was announced the other week that Mark Burnett had joined the Subrosa Brand team. With that news, it was time for Mark to build up a brand new bike, and he chose Simone Barraco‘s signature Noster S frame for his first Subrosa build decked out top to bottom in Subrosa and The Shadow Conspiracy parts, including a handful of his own signature parts like the Odin stem and his new Penumbra seat. “Before I was fully engulfed by the world of BMX, I found a magazine at my elementary school library and in the back of it was a comic strip featuring a rider by the name of Radical Rick. As I found more an more issues of BMX Plus, I found myself skipping to the comic strip first. Over 30 years later, I get that same feeling again as I announce the Subrosa X Radical Rick collaboration!
Around 1985 or 86 I found a BMX magazine in my school’s library, and I could not put it down. I was about 6 years old, and it was the first time I learned that there was a magazine for what I was into, and I checked it out of the library that week, and every week for the rest of the school year. The magazine was BMX Plus.

I saw photos of racers, and I saw photos of freestyle for the first time. I saw cool clothes, new and special products, BMX advertisements, and I was introduced to my new favorite rider Radical Rick.

Radical Rick was a two-paged comic strip created by Damian Fulton that ran in the back BMX Plus Mag all throughout my childhood, but the comic lived long before I first saw it. Staring in 1979, it ran in every issue through 1993! After that it continued to run in the mag as reprints into the early 2000s!

Damian enjoys a career continuing to create paintings and artwork, but Radical Rick lives on in our hearts and now can live on you and your ride!
