Alex Magallan Stepping Down From Being Pro

January 9, 2015

alex-magallan-bike-check-2_600x

Well here’s some very unexpected news! It looks like Alex Magallan has decided to give up riding as a professional. Today, Tree Bicycle Co. announced the news. Alex didn’t specify if he was also stepping away from the Sunday Bikes team as well, but based off what he said it sounds like that’s his plan. Alex had a baby a few months back, so I’d imagine his priorities and responsibilities has changed quite a bit. Hopefully we’ll still see footage from him in the future! Check out some clips from 2014 below!

“It’s a sad day here at Tree HQ as our boy Alex Magallan has decided that he will be stepping down from professional riding. Alex is the man, an all around good human, and of course an absolute shredder on the BMX. We’ve had alot of good times with Alex over the years and only wish him, and his beautiful family all the best! Stay Shredding and thank you for being such a badass and everything you’ve done for us! – Tree Bicycle Co.

“So I’ve decided to step down from riding professionally this year. It’s been a good run, but it’s time for a new chapter in life! Thanks to everyone who made the great times and travels possible! Here a link to some raw footage from last year. Cheers!” – Alex Magellan

Sunday – Mark Burnett Welcome to the Pro Team

January 1, 2015

Mark Burnett is one of the young guns that has been absolutely KILLING IT lately and it looks like he got the well deserved bump up to the Sunday Bikes pro team! If you have to ask why, I advise you hit play and let “holy shit” come out of your mouth a few times! MUST SEE.

““That sucks you have to do that. Who would want to write about a piece of shit 16-year-old?”

That’s what Mark Burnett, Sunday’s newest pro, said when I told him I need to write something announcing his newfound status on the pro team. Of course Mark was kidding, but I still take exception. He may love his sketchy teenager image, but Mark is an awesome kid with a good head on his shoulders. While he does often have a lot in common with the piece of shit 16-year-old he speaks of, I find him to be a surprisingly mature and reasonable young man. When he wants to be.

But seriously, it is with great excitement that we announce Mark Burnett is now a member of the Sunday pro team. There’s no question Mark is a pro-level rider, and I’m sure you’ll all agree he 100% deserves it. The kid knows what he’s doing on a bike, and I really feel he hasn’t even come into his own yet. Sunday turns 10 years old in 2015; we’ve got some exciting stuff planned this year, and we’re stoked Mark is on board.” – Walter Pieringer
