During a trip to New York City for the GT Bicycles 2017 BMX product launch, we caught up with GT Bicycle’s pro team rider’ Dan Conway to take a closer look at his current Globetrotter setup that he’s running decked out with parts from The Daily Grind! As many of you know, every year we try and throw a big contest here in Minnesota at one of the skateparks. Last year we did two contests, one in the Winter and one on the 4th of July. After the contest on the 4th of July last year, myself and a few other locals and parents at the skatepark ended up forming a non-profit foundation to help repair and expand the local skatepark in Rochester, Minnesota. The Keep Pushing Forward Foundation was founded and we’ve been working toward our goal, which is a massive skatepark. Once again, we have teamed up with the Salute To The 4th event held by The Commission and the city of Rochester to throw another BMX and skate contest. Above is the flyer for the BMX contest that we’ll be throwing with proceeds from the event, plus donations all going toward the Keep Pushing Forward Foundation! We have a TON of great sponsors, so there will be a ton of prizes up for grabs!
The contest will be in a jam format with beginner, intermediate and expert classes. We will also be throwing a Subrosa Street Rail Jam as well! Practice and registration will kick off at 11 AM on July 4th at Silverlake Skatepark! We’ll be starting the Beginner classes (BMX followed by skate) at 1PM, Intermediate (BMX followed by skate) at 2PM, Expert at 4PM and the Street Rail Jam shortly after that wraps up!

Here’s a new one that The Daily Grind‘s own Mike Vitatoe whipped up on his iPhone from riding clips he has been collecting, and a few guest clips from some friends. We’re quickly becoming bigger and bigger fans of Mike with each video that he pops up in. This one is packed full of lines, grinds, nose balance and some real unique spots. Hit play and enjoy!

Here’s some news we didn’t see coming. Apparently The Daily Grind crew have been busy starting to stack clips for their next full-length video! Here’s a ton of clips, which we’re assuming are scraps for the video, featuring Tony Cherry, Troy Merkle, Jon “Gremlin” Bechtold, Zack Gerber, Eric Mesta, Scott Steele and Mike Vitatoe all putting in some work on spots over the course of the winter. The full-length is bound to kick a lot of ass, so get stoked. If it’s anything like the “Hard Times” video, it shouldn’t disappoint.

The Daily Grind crew are no strangers to road trips in search of street spots. Over the past few years they have hit up spots all over the East and West Coasts and plenty in between. They recently decided to load up and head East to North Carolina to see just what the state had to offer for street spots. Although North Carolina is primarily known for Greenville in the BMX world, it’s safe to say this place has some amazing street spots, too. Check out 9 minutes of heavy footage from Zack Gerber, Dan Conway, Troy Merkle, Tony Cherry, Scott Steele, Jon “Gremlin” Bechtold, Mike Vitatoe and Grant Ueberroth who put in some serious work during their visit.

During a recent team road trip The Daily Grind crew took to North Carolina, the crew made a stop at a skatepark along the way for a productive session. Despite a little water, this place looks like a real fun spot to cruise around at.
