The Shadow Conspiracy – Vultus Featherweight ADJ Fork

Get a look at the new Vultus Featherweight ADJ Fork from The Shadow Conspiracy!

The Shadow Conspiracy Vultus Featherweight ADJ Fork BMX

When it comes to buying a new BMX fork, there are a number of factors that people consider from color and weight to features like heat-treating and Investment casting. However, one of the biggest factors for people is the offset. The offset, typically sizes between 22mm and 32mm makes a huge difference in how your bike feels and functions. A steep 22mm offset will make your bike feel twitchier and more responsive, making spins and nose balance easier. A longer 32mm fork would give you a more balanced feel and make things like jumping and going faster easier because the wheelbase is further apart. So, if you’re into street riding, you’ll likely feel more comfortable on something like a 22mm or 25mm, where a trails rider would look for something around a 30mm or 32mm. Do a little bit of everything? 28mm would be that sweet spot.

The downside is the when it comes time to picking a fork, some people wish they could have the best of both worlds when it comes to what they’re riding for the day. Unfortunately, that’s not ideal because switching out your fork all the time would be a pain in the ass.

However, a few years ago (Honestly blanking on the original release date) the crew at The Shadow Conspiracy released their Captive Fork that featured these magnetic spacers that gave you the option for different offsets that you could easily swap out by simply taking your front wheel off. This literally gave riders options so they didn’t have to settle for one offset or, even worse, buy two forks just to switch them out (I honestly don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who has done that, but it’s possible). Not to mention, the number of forks that a shop needs to stock can be simplified because one fork can take the place of 3 different offset options.

Spacers come with 22mm, 25mm and 28mm options.

The little magnets on the back help hold the spacer in place in the dropout until you’re ready to tighten it down with your wheel.

After a number of years and plenty of happy customers, The Shadow Conspiracy decided to take their Captive fork and give it well deserved update! The new Vultus Featherweight ADJ Fork uses the same concept with 4130 chromoly butted, oversized and tapered tubing that is 100% post-weld heat-treated, with a 1-piece setter tube with a welded top cap receiver and a proprietary Ridgidrop Dropout System that utilizes the magnetic spacers that allow you to use a 22mm, 25mm or 28mm offset (all three are included with the fork so you can try out each an see which one you like best) on the fork. This fork is 315mm long with a 165mm steerer tube, comes in black fork the only color with a weight of 32 oz.!

The Vultus Featherweight ADJ Fork is available through BMX shops and mail-orders for $184.99. You can also find it in The Shadow Conspiracy webstore (Currently out of stock as of posting this, but you can sign up for notifications for when it does become available again.

Specs:
– Includes 3 different offset – 22mm, 25mm, and 28mm
– Proprietary Rigidrop dropout system
– 4130 chromoly butted, oversized, & tapered tubing
– 100% heat treatment after welding
– 1 piece steer tube with welded top cap receiver
– 315mm fork length / 165mm steer
– Weight: 32 oz.

“The Vultus ADJ Forks take the popular Captive Fork concept of adjustable offset and simplifies the function with 7 series alloy spacers that include magnets. The magnets hold the spacers in the dropout making front wheel removal fast and easy. Experiment to find your best offset based on your riding style instantly- – 22mm for super tech and front wheel stuff, 25mm for street and park moves and the 28mm offset for high speed trails and park. Great for shops , the Vultus ADJ offers multiple offsets in one, simplifying stocking. Includes all the same tech features as other Shadow forks.” – The Shadow Conspiracy

The Shadow Conspiracy – Trey Jones Penumbra Railed Drop Nose Seat

The Trey Jones Penumbra Railed Drop Nose Seat from The Shadow Conspiracy has arrived.

The Shadow Conspiracy Trey Jones Railed BMX Seat

The Shadow Conspiracy have released a handful of new products, and one in particular we have a feeling plenty of mid / old school guys are going to be stoked on! As many of you know, Trey Jones loves himself some Mid School BMX products, and his latest signature Penumbra seat is a tribute to a classic, the GT railed race seat. The Trey Jones Penumbra Railed Drop Nose Seat seat has a high impact nylon composite base with heat-treated chromoly rails, a textured vinyl top panel with screen printed logos and a front bumper. The seat looks just like the original and is available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry The Shadow Conspiracy worlwide now or in the Shadow Conspiracy Webstore for $29.99 now!

It will be interesting to see if railed seats start making a comeback. Relic released a railed seat a year or two ago and it has been popular. S&M also have a railed seat as well, but it’s currently sold out. Do you think the full circle of BMX products is starting to come back around? We’ll have to wait and see…

Check out more photos of the seat below.

The Shadow Conspiracy – Plasmatic Peg – Details Leaked? Maybe?

Get a look at the leaked details on The Shadow Conspiracy Plasmatic Peg that we’ve been waiting to see for about a year now!

The first look at the Plasmatic Peg from The Shadow Conspiracy popped up about a year ago, and since then it’s been fairly quiet and we didn’t really hear much or see anything. Then, the other day, Shadow dropped a teaser picture on Instagram to stoke the embers of the fire back up. Unfortunately, that didn’t give away anything as far as details. Brant Moore was trying to figure out the details and stumbled on to a website that has the elusive peg listed. We’re not sure why a random shop in Michigan has the pegs listed, but they let the cat out of the bag with this one. It looks like, as many people guessed, the peg uses a thicker plastic sleeve and a longer core that also doubles as the nut on your axle so you can tighten it down with a 3/8″ ratchet from the outside on the end of the peg instead of needing a socket an extension.

The photo shows how it would work on a 14mm or 3/8″ male axle, but it doesn’t show what would be used for female axles. We would assume that would be the $7.99 adaptor that there isn’t a photo of, but it’s likely either a threaded bolt that goes into the peg and the axle, but like Brant mentions in the video, we’re not sure how that would keep the peg, male or female, from backing itself off and becoming loose.

Either way, it looks like the peg will retail for $27.99 each with the $7.99 adaptor separate. If this random shop in Michigan has it listed, it shouldn’t be long before it’s available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry The Shadow Conspiracy. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more!

UPDATE: A source says that this isn’t exactly correct an that the final version of the peg will be different than what’s seen, and that it’s still a little ways out from being released. We’re not sure what changes there will be if a dealer has photos / pricing and the logos and everything are done, but it’s possible. Could have been a last minute change. We’ll have to wait and see…End of update
