Vans – Canvas Gum Old School Shoe

Looking for some new shoes? Have you given the Canvas Gum Old School from Vans a look yet? The Old School is one of Vans’ classic and most iconic shoes in their line up. This shoe starts with a sturdy canvas upper with re-enforced toe caps to help fend off wear in the front, padded collars for comfort, flexibility and support. Inside you can find the classic Vans logo printed on the insole and the classic gum Waffle outsole on the bottom, giving you plenty of traction on the pedals. This shoe has pretty limited branding with the classic side stripe and a small Vans rubber tag on the heel.

The classic Vans stripe logo and gum sole are always in style.

They kept the branding pretty clean and simple on this shoe. Not too flashy… Nice and clean.

Vans – AV RapidWeld Pro Lite Shoe

Time for some new shoes? Have you taken a look at the AV RapidWeld Pro Lite shoe from Vans yet? The AV stands for Anthony Van Engelens, who’s a pro skater and this is his signature model. The RapidWeld Pro Lite starts out with a rubber and mesh upper with a stitchless Rapidweld shell and welded Duracap upper reinforcement in high wear areas, inside you can find Vans’ UltraCush Lite sock liner and the Luxliner inner glove lining. Outside you can find the Pro Vulc Lite outsole with the Vans classic waffle pattern. That combination makes for a lightweight, durable and responsive shoe.

Insight: Vans 50th Anniversary SK8-Hi Pro Shoes

As you probably have heard by now, the crew over at Vans are celebrating 50 years of producing some of the best BMX and skate shoes. One of the ways that they have been celebrating, Vans have released some special edition 50th Anniversary shoes that highlight some of their heritage. The other day we received a surprise package from Vans and inside was a pair of their new 50th anniversary SK8-Hi Reissue Pro ’86 shoes that are available in this navy, baby blue and white combo. We were really digging the look and figured it would be rad to give you guys a closer look just incase you’re on the hunt for some new shoes!

The 50th anniversary SK8-Hi Reissue Pro ’86 was brought back for Dennis McCoy who has been one of the longest standing BMX team riders for Vans. The color combo was one of the most popular color combos back in the 80’s, so it made complete sense to celebrate Dennis since he’s been a key part of the Vans family over the years.

Taking a look at the shoe, it features a suede, canvas and leather upper with the iconic wave logo, a small Vans tag on the heal, a sewn patch on the tongue and the DURACAP reinforcement rubber underlays in some of the high wear spots. Inside you can find the UltraCush HD sockliners with a high level of cushioning to absorb impacts like a champ. Of course, you can also find Vans’ iconic Waffle sole to wrap things up. You know your feet won’t be sliding around on your pedals with those.

Inside you can find Vans’ UltraCush insole which is designed for comfort and absorbing impacts to prevent bruising on your feet.

Cult X Vans – Old Skool Pro Collaboration Shoes

It looks like Cult and Vans have teamed up for a 3rd collaboration shoe. This time around they went with the classic Old Skool Pro model with a few custom modifications. The Old Skool Pro starts out with a suede, canvas and leather upper with the single-wrap foxing tape and the Duracap reinforcements in high wear areas. Inside you can find the UltraCush HD insoles for a high level of impact cushioning and a comfy feel. On the bottom you can find the classic Vans Waffle sole that you know will keep your feet in place. You can find the orange and white Vans tags, embroidered Cult logos on the heels and tongues and the custom Cult logo insoles.

The Cult X Vans Old Skool Pro collaboration shoes are hitting BMX shops, mail-orders and Vans dealers worldwide with a price tag of around $54.99.

Matt Cordova Wins Van Doren Invitational 2016

The Van Doren Invitational finals went down today with some of BMX’s most stylish and craziest ramp riders going to work on the bowl in Huntington Beach. Once the dust settled, Matt Cordova landed himself the top spot with Clint Reynolds and Dylan Lewis rounding out the top 3! Matt absolutely CRUSHED the course with his big lines, super clicked tricks and style for miles. Above is a look at Matt’s riding footage, with Clint and Dylan’s before courtesy of Ride BMX. Expect to see plenty more footage popping up tomorrow!

Clint Reynolds took 2nd place with his smooth lines and some creativity like the backwards bars 360 over the spine!

Dylan Lewis took 3rd place with his insanely high airs and big, stylish tricks. We’ve been big fans of Dylan for a little while now and it’s safe to say he finally put himself on a lot of peoples radars with his riding this weekend. Stoked for Dylan!

Van Doren Invitational 2016 – More Practice Highlights

Things are really starting to heat up at the Van Doren Invitational with things officially kicking off today. Here’s a video Ride BMX dropped giving you a look at some of the action that has been going down so far. You know when some of the most stylish riders and most dialed ramp riders in the world all get together for a big session, things are going to get crazy. We can’t wait to see what goes down in the actual contest!
