When Andrew Brady took me to Wilson Skatepark in Chicago, Illinois while I was out for the Dew Tour, I had the chance to meet Timmy, and his friend Donte. Timmy was not only super friendly, but he was pretty funny also. That, and the obvious fact that he kills it on a bike. I’d hope you saw his recent video…if not, it’s at the bottom of this. Check out what Tim “Timmy” Theus has to say, some photos, and the recent edit, then leave him some love in the comments!

What got you into BMX in the first place? Do you have any real early memories that come to mind?
I would watch all the older guys ride trails when I was little. I still remember the day my dad taught me how to ride.
You are one of the Vinyl crew, so I figure you ride with Kevin Porter, Brian Kachinsky, and those guys a fair amount. Who is your usual riding crew these days?
Well you met Donte, I ride with him most of the time. Whenever I’m in the city it is usually KP and Andrew Brady.
Where can you usually be found riding? What is your all time favorite place you have had the chance to ride?
Usually I’m at this park down the street from my house. It’s kind of weak, but it’s something to ride and I don’t really have a favorite spot. I love riding any place that I can have a good time.
Your latest web edit shows you are able to destroy street, and parks… but I hear you also ride trails? Are you a big fan of those?
Lol yea I grew up with them kind of, but people stopped working on them, and then everybody got lazy when parks started going up. I like to ride them whenever I get the chance.
You went on a trip to Pennsylvania recently… How did that trip go?
That trip was awesome, I had a lot of fun cruising the streets of PA with the crew.
Do you have any more trips planned? Where are some places you would like to go at some point?
We are trying to plan a trip back to PA before school starts back. I got the chance to go to San Diego in the spring and I would love to go back there.
Who or what are some of your bigger influences when it comes to riding?
My brother Lance and Donte.
Edit: Lance was the kid doing that crazy backflip crash.. you can check that out right here
It would seem like tricks come fairly easy for you… Am I just imagining things or is that true?
No, that’s not true at all. I have so many scars from learning new tricks; it’s crazy.
I saw somewhere, somebody compared you to Jaumell Campbell, and Andrew Jackson… How do you feel about that?
That’s kinda kool who ever said that. Thanks
What do you think you would be up to if you never got into BMX?
I’m pretty sure I’d be on a Skateboard
What are you usually up to when you aren’t riding bikes?
Work or chilling with my girl
I gotta ask it… How did you end up with the name Timmy? I know when we first met you joked about it.
Lol dude I have been Timmy my whole life. Being called Tim makes me feel old because my dad and I have the same name.
You are a pretty beefy guy, do you lift weights or something?
Naw, I just ride and do bunny hops all day now but when I was younger I did a bunch of different sports.
So you are going to school… What are you going for? Do you work at all?
Yea I’m going to school for construction management, and I work for Doctor Pepper/7up
What kind of music are you into? Anything you think people should check out?
Old Stuff, new stuff, lil Wayne, The Cool Kids, NERD, Jimmy Hendrix, I’m open to anything
Do you have any favorite websites?
VinylBMX.com
How do you feel about the game Dave Mirra 2, I think we got into a pretty legit talk about that game when I was out there?
There needs to be a 3rd because we have no new BMX games.
What is the craziest or scariest thing you have ever experienced?
The scariest thing was getting stuck under someone at Cedar Point Water Park and almost drowning.
What would it take for you to wrestle a homeless man? Would you do it for $500 if he smelled like urine?
Maybe
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 or so years?
I couldn’t even tell you but I hope I’m still riding
What is BMX?
My Escape
Do you have any shout outs or thanks?
My brothers, my Family, all my friends and anyone who rides a bike.
