Flo Ehrl In The Streets of Munich

March 7, 2019

The crew at Freedom BMX coming through with a fresh batch of clips featuring Flo Ehrl going to work on street spots in Munich! Flo isn’t scared to put his pegs to work or send it down a set of stairs, making for a real solid video! Take a look!

“Not so long ago, Munich was still relatively undeveloped. This has since changed, because a new generation of young street drivers is busy exploring the streets of the Bavarian capital. Flo Ehrl is one of those guys who is not without good reason supported by the 360 degree sports shop and Stylemystuff®. Flo is not only a nice guy, but also has a lot of wheel control, which has earned him the nickname Railridegott in the internal editorial – not to mention his cojones. Here’s a glimpse of interesting clips that he staked last summer in Minga, Dachau and Landshut. Flo goes off, so check it out, Oida!

Dirt Bros. – Manuel De La Cruz “Cheese” Section (1994)

March 7, 2019

Snakebite BMX uploaded another gem from the Dirt Bros. “Cheese” video that came out way back in 1994! This time around we get a look at Manuel De La Cruz‘s section that has a mix of street, park and trails footage. I didn’t personally know much about this guy until I saw the section and got the full scoop from the text that came with the video, and it’s pretty awesome. Manuel was definitely ahead of his time and was definitely crushing it. Check out this video and get psyched!

“Underground San Diego shredder, Manuel De La Cruz, earned national notoriety for being the first documented rider to grind down a legit handrail without brakes and without wearing any pads. At the time, most riders were still used to seeing the pros wear a full face helmet or at least full pads to double-peg a rail. So, when Manuel started bombing huge handrails with out safety gear, it was pretty shocking. While he may have been known for hitting big rails, Manuel also got down on ramps, dirt, and had some impressive flatland moves. I’ve gotten to hang out with Manuel a few times since I moved to San Diego, and have always found him to be a generous, humble, and likeable guy who is still really stoked on BMX. Using “Egypt, Egypt” from the 1984 album On the Nile by Egyptian Lover was a stroke of genius, and helped make Manuel’s section one of the more memorable ones from Cheese. Enjoy!!

Everything You Need To Know About BMX – Part 1

March 6, 2019

Here’s an interesting video Red Bull just dropped called the ABC’s of BMX where they discuss everything you need to know about BMX. This features footage from the team, along with some behind the scenes footage from training and riding sessions. The video is narrated by Sebastian Keep, which definitely makes this better. In this first part, the video covers everything from injuries to the lifestyle and traveling. It’s pretty basic, but it’s clear this series is more geared toward people that don’t ride BMX to help explain it a bit. Either way, it’s an interesting watch, so take a look.

“The ultimate BMX breakdown – here is all you need-to-know! A BMX, or Bicycle Motocross, has a long and rich history of the most creative riders constantly taking the sport above and beyond. Get to know the ways this sport has continued to develop and fan out in new ways thanks to so many pioneers.” – Red Bull

Unseen Stevie Churchill Clips

March 6, 2019

It’s always pretty wild to think about how much footage may have never been used or seen over the years. There’s probably a ton of insane clips that we will never see because of it. Today, we came across this raw cut of clips Jeff DuPaul was sitting on for more than a few years now of Stevie Churchill. We’re not sure why the clips were never released or why he chose to upload them now, but we’re glad he did! It looks like these clips span back to his days on Volume. This is a good reminder that Stevie is NOT scared to send some really big barspins on some real big drops. Take a look!
