Mongoose En Costa Rica – Part 1

February 24, 2017

It’s been awesome seeing all the moves Mongoose have been doing. Here’s a video from a full team trip down to Costa Rica where the crew soaked up the sunshine and, what appears to be, an endless supply of dialed setups to ride from skateparks to street spots and more. Here’s part one giving you a look at what the team got into during their visit on and off their bikes!

“The Mongoose BMX team was getting sick of riding in the cold, winter weather so they decided to head to someplace warm. The chosen spot was Costa Rica! It was sunny, warm and was exactly what we needed! With tour guide Kenneth Tencio in tow Kevin Peraza, Pat Casey, Paul Ryan, Ben Wallace, Greg Illingworth and Tom Isted got to check out the lovely Costa Rica and the amazing riding spots it had to offer! This is Part 1 of 2.”

Matty Cranmer Tells The Story of How He Broke His Leg

February 23, 2017

Nobody said riding BMX was safe, but if you didn’t ride and only watched Scotty Cranmer‘s Youtube channel, you would assume people breaking things is way too common. The other night Matty Cranmer broke his leg and is down for the count for 6-8 weeks. Here’s a video where Matty talks a little bit about how it all went down and tells you all the very tough details. However, now that Scotty and Matty are BOTH down, they decided they might as well be productive and teach Big Boy how to Rocket Manual. So, get the story from Matty, then watch Big Boy try and figure this classic trick out!

“OUR BAD LUCK JUST CONTINUES! MY LITTLE BROTHER MATTY JUST BROKE HIS LEG RIDING AT MY SKATEPARK ONLY FOUR DAYS BEFORE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO LEAVE FOR AUSTRALIA FOR A BMX COMPETITION THAT HE HAD BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO FOR MONTHS NOW. With Cory coming off a broken ankle, Vinny coming off two broken feet, and myself coming off a broken neck we are dwindling down. When it comes to people riding for the channel but there is one man left that loves to ride his bike and he starts today, the big boy! With me and Matty being hurt, we figured it would be an awesome opportunity to teach big boy a new trick! This time we are teaching him a rocket manual behind our bike shop! Also break down the crash footage of Matty breaking his leg!”

Haro Bikes – 2018 Mirra Pro Tribute Bike

February 23, 2017

The first look at the 2018 Mirra Pro Tribute Bike from Haro Bikes!

Haro Bikes 2018 Mirra Pro Tribute Bike BMX

Here’s one we’ve been waiting to see! Haro Bikes have just released details on the Dave Mirra 2018 Mirra Pro Tribute bike that they have been working on! This bike turned out absolutely phenomenal and Haro did such an amazing job with the details on this bike. You can get more info on the bike below!

“There are no two ways about it: Dave Mirra was the spark that revitalized Haro in the mid 1990s. Gone were the days of Bob Haro and Ron Wilkerson behind the brand’s direction — it was now Dave Mirra and Ryan Nyquist designing complete bikes that were affordable, high quality and available worldwide to a new legion of BMX fans. A few years later, the X Games hit, and suddenly, Dave Mirra’s signature Haro was on every TV screen of an ESPN subscriber, and demand for his signature bikes and components sky rocketed.

Mirra remained an esteemed member of the Haro team through the end of 2006, and then started his own brand, Mirraco, for the remainder of his BMX career. But the majority of Mirra’s accomplishments at the top of the sport were done on a signature Haro, and it’s where most of us remember him best.

Now, to honor Dave Mirra, Haro is releasing a 2017 tribute Dave Mirra bike, with a bulk of the sales proceeds going directly to the Mirra family. It is but one more way for BMX to continually honor the life, legacy and greatness of Dave Mirra, and all that he gave to his family, friends and BMX as a whole. And it’s proof positive that the memory of Dave Mirra will remain with all of us for a long time to come.”

The 2018 Mirra Pro Tribute Bike comes in 20.5″ only, weighs in at 26.5 lbs. and has a $799.99 price tag.

You can learn more about this bike on the Haro Bikes website.

After a long winter, the envy of people getting to head down to Australia for some sunshine and ride time is high. Here’s a video featuring Michael Hanfler getting some time in at a couple different skateparks. Hit play to watch Michael bring a bunch of speed, flow and style to the different bowls and ramps he rode. This BMX video had a real good vibe. If it doesn’t make you wish you were in Australia, you’re crazy.

“Had a good time filming in parks on the Gold Coast in sunny Australia. Thanks heaps to Raman Garcia for being such a patient filmer.
Hope you enjoy it!

Chad Curtis “White Flags”

February 23, 2017

You can’t go wrong with some fresh footage from Chad Curtis. Here’s a new mix of footage of him bringing a ton of style and his unique bag of tricks to skateparks and street spots all over the Southwest. Chad doesn’t disappoint, so get on it and take all 5 plus minutes in.

“Chad Curtis is a dude who we first encountered at the “Inter -ride your- Bike” jam in Vegas in 2016. Chad was killing it all night with unique and creative moves, all with two metal pegs (Reed Stark was hyped at the time). Fast-forward 6-months and Chard hit us up with this section that he’s been working on for the past year or so.” – Ride BMX

Merritt – Oscar Ruiz and Montana Ricky Plaza Cruising

February 23, 2017

Merritt coming through with a fresh batch of clips from a plaza session that Oscar Ruiz and Montana Ricky stacked when they caught some warm weather out east. This video has a pretty chill and laid back vibe, but there’s definitely some gems worth seeing in this. That clip of Ricky powerbombing his head on the slide is wild, haha. Check it.

“Oscar and Ricky hit a local Plaza a little while back and banged out a quick edit with Scotty. The warm weather is finally back. be on the look out for a lot more from these guys.”

Dan Foley – Most Disappointing Spot Ever

February 23, 2017

Dan Foley coming through with a new video that’s a little more vloggier than we prefer, but it has a bunch of real solid riding footage we couldn’t pass up. This time around, Dan spends a weekend day cruising around to different spots he hasn’t hit up, but has driven by a time or two. Although things didn’t quite pan out to his expectations, he was still able to make the best of each spot and come up with a few clips. Check it out!

“Sometimes even the surest thing turns out way differently than expected. You just have to roll with it (or on it).“
