I took some of my favorites from this year and edited it into this appropriately titled video, ‘HALFWAY THERE’.” Sam Downs

Brian Tunney – June 2023 Clips

July 1, 2023

Check out Brian Tunney’s latest edit!

It’s July 1st and that means that it’s time to check out Brian Tunney‘s latest edit giving us a look at what he got into during his flatland sessions over the course of June! As always, Brian delivers with a bunch of great riding, and full details on just what he filmed down below! Check it!

“June started out moderately temperate and then went bonkers by the end of the month. I have attempted to “progress” but riding in 95 degree temperatures (in the shade) is not always easy. So without becoming sideline weather man again, here’s a rundown of everything from June.

00:01 Four seat grab jugglers in the garage. I thought three was the max in this space but I somehow made it happen.
00:18 Four barspin weed wacker to undertaker. I had never done four barspins before this. Someone held on and made it work though.
00:30 One hitchhiker juggler to backwards whip to backwards hitch (I may have done this already but never in the garage before.)
00:50 Cancan undertaker to gliding greater. Not much to report here.
01:03 Juggler to frame grab invisible hand to around the world.
01:26 Barpsin undertaker to backside barspin at the end. Watch closely, I figured out another silly way to add one more spin at the end. It took a while for this to happen, and when it finally did, I swear, my brain was hovering over my body watching it happen. I think some people call that flow state but I’d prefer to remain with my body while doing 30 year old BMX tricks.
01:36 Double seat grab juggler to invisible hand to hitchhiker. I am pretty proud of this one.
01:53 This day was 98 degrees in the shade and I decided to ride anyway. This is nothing fancy, just a fire hydrant to undertaker. But when it’s that hot, it’s hard to even retain grip of the bars without the moisture from your sweat interfering.
02:04 Seat grab juggler to one-hand whip juggler to seat grab juggler.
02:17 I kept trying my last trick for three days and it wasn’t happening on the first two of those three days. This was from day two and I thought it looked okay so didn’t want to scrap it.
02:29 And finally, on day three, it happened. This is a double barspin to undertaker to late barspin at the end. This is not a consistent trick by any means, so do not expect to get caught down a wormhole on this trick next month.

All in all, not a decent month of riding. I keep learning new ways to utilize a pretty small space and for that I am not gonna complain. ” – Brian Tunney

Jean William Prevost – Comes In Waves

July 1, 2023

Jean William Prévost sent through is new Comes In Waves video!

Here’s a dialed new one that Jean William Prévost dropped for you to check out. The “Comes In Waves” video was 3 years in the making and is 12 minutes of footage from the sessions Jean has gotten in all over the place. As expected, the riding is amazing with a ton of crazy flatland combos you won’t want to miss. Get on that play button and take a look!

“This video edit visits 4 of the spots I have spent A LOT of time at in the past 3 years or so. Chinatown, Home, Dojo and The Hall. The setting takes place in Montreal, but the vibe is very inner sanctum and fighting the good fight to make new lines & tricks come to life.
This one goes out to everyone catching their own wave and making the best of it. Riding Flatland is the furthest thing from surfing as we shred the pavements of the urban jungles of the world, yet everything we do in life vibes at a frequency, and that frequency has its own rhythm. Sometimes you have to put the thing you love the most aside and come back to it with a fresh mindset and give it another go and ride that wave anew. Sometimes you over practice a certain trick and it doesn’t help it come to life as would putting aside and coming back to it later would.
I can’t really find the words to describe the pain, love, happiness and suffering that went behind this video. I hope you like it, share it, show it to your friends and let them know the magic of this sport through this video. I hope the love I have for the sport is felt, absorbed and something important can be retained or withdrawn from this compilation. None of this shit happens on its own, its a perfect case of fall down, get back up try again and that over 1 million times over. One of the tricks in this video took me over 10 years to finally land. It might still look a bit rough, but in my heart I am happy that fight is over.
If there was one thing I could do if i get another go at life, would be to start riding earlier and more rigorously so that I could learn even crazier maneuvers at an even earlier onset with the modern light bikes :))) . Although, if this is the only one I get, I will settle with this one chance I get…
Thanks to Scott Denoncourt, Kevin Carroll, KEith and Tammy for helping with the take down at the Dojo, leaving that space was very emotional. That place doesn’t even exist anymore, a place of which I know every little bump and crack is already long gone as this edit comes out! SO WEIRD!
Thanks to Reklamation Bikes & Far East Cycles for everything they have made possible in my life. Thanks to the people that support me without expecting something in return.
Thanks to Flatland for believing in me and my products, I am infinitely grateful for the love and support IGI is getting throughout the World.
For those who have a hard time believing in themselves, just remember that it comes in waves and that its ok to take a break as long as you get back to it in a timely manner. Nothing happens on its own. Flatland isn’t easy but it’s a great teacher, though its lessons won’t come until you let the waves of its wisdom hit you over the years of practice in a cycle of working hard and letting go.

Thanks for watching and your feedback in the comment section would be appreciated !
