Joel Barnett – Here

January 9, 2025

Joel Barnett puts in the work for some unique spots!

When you watch as many edits as we do, you get bored with all the usual style spots being put to use. Then a video like this new Joel Barnett video pops up and you get real stoked because he’s getting creative to make spots that most people wouldn’t look at work. This is loaded with creative riding and spots making for an awesome watch. Take a look!

“Following on from his 2014 DIG interview titled, “Nearly There”, Nashville resident and long-time friend of the magazine, Joel Barnett hooked up with film-maker Erik Doty to produce this ten minute gem, honing in on how a simple spot can both focus and inspire the mind and soul. Joel still rips too. We loved this!” – DIG

“Riding alone has been a constant thread throughout my life – from my early days as an eager kid in West Auburn, PA, to where I am now in Nashville, TN. The simplicity of pedaling alone allows me to slow down and process the noise of everyday life. In the fall of 2023, Erik Doty and I documented what riding means to me today: brief moments of clarity at temporary spots, often hidden in plain sight. During this time, I rode a Work BMX frame made by John Corts that had a single Circuit BMX sticker on the top tube—an intentional reminder of friends in different places who inspire me to keep creating. You get what you give, so grab a shovel, mod a spot, load some film, and go create something with friends.

“Here” is the complement to “Nearly There,” the 2014 Dig interview with Andrew White.

Special thanks to Erik Doty, Sarah Taylor, and Alex Magallan.” – Joel Barnett

The Final Nowear Cornhuckit Jam Highlights

January 8, 2025

Check out what went down at the final Cornhuckit Jam!

This past summer the crew at Nowear threw their final Cornhuckit Jam at the Nowear Compound in Nebraska! Although it’s definitely not the final event there, they put together one hell of a jam with a big turn out and no shortage of amazing riding and good times. Here’s a highlight video Brant Moore put together giving you a look at what went down!

“The 2024 Cornhuckit Jam went down September 14th in Nebraska and was an amazing time! The weather held out all weekend long to make for a picture perfect event. You could not have asked for a better weekend and we all know that Jaramiah Droescher was looking down on everyone ripping as they rode for Miah!

Countless hundreds and maybe even thousands of hours have went into building the Nowear Compound by an incredible amount of people. At the center are Karl and Carrie Hinkley. The Nowear Compound has outdoor ramps, trails, mega jumps using fmx ramps, a barn ramp, a semi drop, an indoor skatepark, a 40×40 flatland pad and so much more. All of this is free to ride by anyone year round!
All Karl asks is that people planning to visit reach out first.

This is truly a special place for riders of all kinds. Check it out if you can!!! www.nowearbmx.com” – Brant Moore
