Scotty Cranmer – Biking The Hard Way

October 5, 2017

Scotty Cranmer uploaded a fresh video from a session at a skatepark where he called out tricks for Cory Berglar and Big Boy to do all over the park from the mini ramp to the hip, rail and more. After that session wrapped up, they made their way over to the race track for a pump race that lead to a surprising victory. Take a look at see what went down!

“We decided to head to a local park around us that we have never been to before because it has been locked up for so long! Finally we were able to ride it and the boys had some issues! Big boy was doing his usual lying on the ground. But as we all know that’s expected! Then we went to the track to have a good old pump race. Can you guess who won before the video is over!” – Scotty Cranmer

Brad Simms – Riding BMX At Burnside In Portland

October 5, 2017

During a recent trip to Portland Brad Simms caught an early morning session at the legendary Burnside skatepark. Although bikes aren’t really allowed, sometimes you can get a session in, especially if a few of the locals show up for the session, too. Here’s a look at what Brad and a few others got into during the session, followed up with some street riding around the city!

Touring a BMX Bicycle Factory In Taiwan with GT Bicycles

October 5, 2017

As many of you know, a very large portion of the BMX industry have their products made over in Taiwan. In the past, it used to be a sign of cheap products with less than stellar quality, but that has changed pretty drastically over the past decade. Although we love our Made in the USA products, we do know that a lot of products coming out of Taiwan are actually dialed and high quality. During a recent team trip to Taiwan, the GT BMX team had the chance to tour a factory that makes BMX bikes (and a number of other styles of bikes) to get a look at how it all comes together. Ride BMX tagged along for the trip and filmed a little behind the scenes look at what goes on in those factories. We don’t know about you, but we find this all interesting as hell. Check it!

“Have you ever wondered how those complete bikes get assembled and where and by who? Here’s an in-depth look at a reputable bicycle factory in Taiwan that we got to tour while on the road with the GT BMX squad… Complete with hyperbolic test chambers, moving conveyer belts, wheel building machines, and much much more. This shit is pretty nuts, but major shouts to all of the factory workers out there who keep up cruising in the streets! Thank you to Ben Ward and GT for making this happen.” – Ride BMX

Profile Racing – Tech Tip: 19mm VS 22mm Cranks

October 5, 2017

Thinking about getting a new set of cranks, but you aren’t sure if you should run 19mm or 22mm spindle?

Profile Racing 19mm VS 22mm BMX Cranks

This weeks Tech Tip from Profile Racing takes a look at the difference between their classic 19mm Race Cranks and their 22mm Column cranks and what size you should run based on your riding style and preference. This talks about a few of the Pros and Cons of both sizes and gives you examples of what each the riders on their team run for cranks. You can check out the tech tip on the Profile Racing Website!

One thing they don’t cover in this is the 24mm crank arm size that a few brands also offer. This size has been pretty commonly looked at as overkill for many riders, but there are a bunch of guys out there that could benefit from that larger size as well. Either way, 19mm, 22mm and 24mm are all options. 19mm is the most common and 22mm being the second most common option for the riders that are harder on cranks.

What do you run? Let us know what size and why in the comments below!

The crew at Madera had Erik Elstran sit down and answer a bunch of questions that the fans had sent in for Erik to answer. Take a look!

Eastern – How To Bike Lasso with Adam Banton

October 5, 2017

If you’re looking for a fun trick to do while you’re just screwing around, Adam Banton has a trick tip on the Bike Lasso (I honestly had never considered that to be the name of the trick)! This trick is fairly basic, but takes a little practice to perfect and can be mixed in, in the most random times. Hit play and let Adam give you a bunch of tips and examples, then give it a go… I know there’s footage of me completely eating shit doing one of these somewhere online, haha.

“The Bike Lasso is an oldie but a goodie. Eastern pro Adam Banton takes you through the steps of the trick and adds in some helpful tips to get you slinging that thing in no time.
