3D Printed BMX Pegs?

August 13, 2017

Jonny Lee has been on a mission lately to see how many 3D printed parts he could make. First, he made a 3D Printed Sprocket, then he went and made a 3D Printed Stem. It looks like he didn’t stop there because he has cooked up a set of 3D Printed pegs. Well, they’re actually peg sleeves. Check out the video to see the pegs, along with how he got them to work with the chromoly inserts from another set of pegs. After that, he puts them to good use on a flat ledge / rail setup he has in his driveway. There was some speculation on how safe / durable the sprocket or stem was, but we’re pretty sure everyone who rides plastic pegs will want to try this one out.

“A lot of people were asking for me to 3D print pegs/peg sleeves… so here you go!” – Jonny Lee

What else would you want to see for a 3D printed BMX part? Pedals maybe?

Percept DVD Trailer

August 13, 2017

The “Percept” DVD that Bob Randel has been putting in the work on is finally complete and ready for you. Below you can find the the trailer that gives you a quick look at what Bob and the crew have been getting into out in the Bay Area as they stacked clips for the better part of the last seven years. You can pick up copies through Baygame SF, Empire and a few other spots now, or by hitting up Bob on Instagram.

“It may have taken longer than Bob Randel originally hoped, but after many years of anticipation ‘Percept’ is a reality. After having seen it myself, I think it’s fair to call it the best full length video to come out of the Bay Area in many years. The last great scene video I can recall was ‘Cuttin’ It Deep’, which featured Eddie Cleveland and Zac Costa, and was released roughly a decade ago now. We’ve seen plenty from many talented riders in NorCal since then, but the area has been underrepresented overall.

Bob Randel has changed all that with ‘Percept’ by providing the world an honest representation of the present day scene. Shining a bright light on familiar faces like Jackson Ratima, Kurt Russell, and Bob himself who are still going hard as ever, and bringing to the surface sleepers in Bubbie Gowin and John McGowan whose sections will certainly sear their names into your memory. Lucky for us Bob was kind enough to drop this exclusive trailer and also oblige us with the opportunity to interview him about the DVD –

Are you looking for a new pair of shoes, but you want to try something a little different? SCg Shoe Co. has been making BMX shoes since 1999 and they know a thing or two about making a shoe that’s built to hold up to the wear and tear from riding. Today, we’re going to check out the LoPro model with a wild Tactical camouflage upper that looks rad. Here’s a few words on the shoe direct from SCg…

“The LoPro’ was designed and developed to withstand the abuse of riding BMX, MTB, and skating, while remaining comfortable and stylish. It was built with a full length EVA Mid sole, along with a custom polyurethane insole to be incredibly durable and high-impact resistant. The outsole is 400 NBS rubber for wear resistance, with a Herringbone tread pattern to keep it grippy. It is both glued and stitched around the entire outsole for durability as well, with light padding around the ankle. The LoPro is designed to be more “Lo” “Pro”file around and under the ankle bone than the ‘Sound’ model, giving greater freedom of movement and a less restricted feel. Lower in the front at the eyelets and straight cut under the ankle bone to the heel. Our lowest profile shoe in the lineup so far.”

The LoPro Tactical is available for $64.99 through the SCG Webstore or BMX shops and mail-orders that carry SCg worldwide.

The LoPro uses both stitching and glue to hold the shoe together. That added durability is great for riders that tend to tear through shoes quickly.

August 12, 2017
