Nowear – Father Daughter BMX Dance

September 6, 2017

It’s pretty awesome how many riders out there now have kids that also ride BMX. The Hinkley family is all in when it comes to BMX, so it’s no surprise that Karl Hinkley‘s daughter Raima has picked up on riding BMX as well. Here’s a short but sweet split edit featuring both of them getting a few clips together on the Nowear demo ramps.

“A short video dedicated to all the fathers and daughters out there.

Common Crew Street Ride Got Insane

September 6, 2017

Last weekend was the Common Crew Street Ride out in California. If you weren’t able to make it to the jam, you’re in luck because Francis Castro had his camera out filming everything that went down throughout the day. A ton of riders turned out and it looks like plenty of amazing riding went down before the rain hit.

“Season 2/EP. 5 – “BMX – COMMON CREW STREET RIDE GOT INSANE!” Just what we promised at 10,000 subs: an insane street ride! Despite getting kicked out of half the spots and the rain pouring down on us we still had an amazing time. Super sick getting to ride with our fans and meeting so many of you. TILL NEXT TIME!

How To Properly Tension BMX Brakes

September 5, 2017

Although brakes on BMX bikes might not be as common as they used to be in the early 2000’s, there’s a good chance a number of you out there might be interested in knowing now how to properly tension BMX brakes. In fact, not understanding how the tension works is probably why a number of riders end up taking their brakes off in the first place. We don’t blame you, it can be a little tricky and a real pain. Brant Moore decided it was time to put together a video explaining how BMX brakes actually work, and how to properly tension BMX brakes so you have the perfect brakes. Hit play on the video below…

“Brake springs are the main reason good brakes feel good and bad brakes feel bad on a bmx bike.
In this video I talk about why they matter and how to use them properly.
” – Brant Moore

Did this help you understand how to properly tension BMX brakes? Do you still have questions? Let us know what is on your mind in the comments below! We’ll be glad to answer your questions on dialing in brakes since we would love to see more riders rocking brakes and doing brake tricks again!

in the time that steve filmed this section he has progressed his berks street project (@215berks) from a beta concept into a shop ran directly from his home. he then continued on with that vision even further by opening as a brick and mortar bmx specific shop on frankford avenue in philadelphia. steve is passionate about bmx, helping others, and his shop has quickly become the backbone of this scene. he’s always putting in extra hours dipping quick from a session or waiting up to close the shop for someone in need. he has hosted many events since the opening of the shop that have brought riders from near and far together, and is constantly planning for more. much respect to steve, and wish him nothing but continued success in the future.
