Matt Blew For 2016

It has been a little while since we’ve seen a BMX video out of Matt Blew, but it’s safe to say he’s been busy putting in time on his bike! Here’s a fresh batch of clips that were filmed over the course of the year out on the streets, skateparks and backyard ramps he came across. Let’s Help Out Antoine Sabourin

Anyone who has taken filming for BMX semi-seriously knows that the costs of all the gear from cameras to lenses, lights, editing software, etc. etc. can add up really quick. All those people also know that there’s a real risk for having your setup stolen in a blink of an eye. Unfortunately, Antoine Sabourin had everything stolen and now he’s stuck trying to figure out how to replace 10,000€ worth of cameras, lenses, laptop, etc. The guys at SOUL BMX over in France setup a little GoFundMe style fundraiser page to help get Antoine back up and rolling. “7 years of work gone

Antoine Sabourin worked hard for 7 years to save money and invest in video equipment. Tjis week end he lost everything after a burglary at a friend house. 2 bags of cameras, computer, hard drive full of footage we will probably never see again. 10 000€ worth of equipment, gone. Shock is terrible. Without insurance, the frustration is high, the danger of giving up is real.

At SOUL, we put a lot of hope and joy in the new involvment of Antoine on our newt website www.soulbmxmag.com coming soon. Luckily our latest projects with Antoine were saved and almost ready. But what a bummer for the other projects planned this month and the one in the future. And there are some pretty good ones to come. This is why we are making this call for solidarity today, not to hope equiping him with full gear, but just to make him start filming again.

Because Antoine is not your typical filmer, his eye, his sensitivity, his authenticity produced deeply human movies, with of course a lot of rad actions too. Close to the people, he may have paid his famous sympathy, it’s unfair. And here at SOUL we want to see more movies of Antoine. That is why we forced our nature and ask for the solidarity of the bmx familly and beyond. Today we need you.

Why BMX Needs A Women’s Class at X Games

DIG caught up with Nina Buitrago and Dani Lightningbolt to get some insight on just why the X Games needs a Women’s BMX class. There’s also a bunch of real solid riding footage in this one from a ton of the girls that were out in Austin last summer for the X Games.

“Some wise words from Nina Buitrago and Dani Lightningbolt as to why they feel a women’s class at Xgames would help encourage more female riders to get involved with BMX. Being a minority within a minority sport/activity like BMX can’t be easy at times, and although at DIG we’re not the biggest fans of the generic contest environment, there are definite benefits from this type of inclusion that could come from it. It’s great to hear these opinions coming from two riders who have always been fully immersed in BMX culture too.

Lucas Robinson – Lost Clips

We’re not too sure how clips can get lost so easily, but it happens. In this case, Lucas Robinson had a bunch of really solid clips that were lost but now found and they have made their way online. We really dig this short but sweet, straight to the point video that puts real solid riding with some clean film work without much fluff added in. Hit play to check out a bunch of grinds, a little freecoaster action and more! No-one would fault you for only wanting to play the adventure mode. It’s really sexy. The problem is, you’re going to run out of energy, eventually, and in the world of hentaiheroes , this means that it’s time to fork over some cash. This is where they get you. To play adventure mode further, you literally have to wait, unless you want to loosen the coinpurse.

Garrett Reynolds Wins X Games “Real BMX”

Here’s some news we’re sure some of you were waiting for after seeing all the crazy Real BMX videos. Today, the X Games had a show nationally televised on ABC to announce the winners of the contest, and it turns out Garrett Reynolds and Tony Ennis ended up taking the win! Hit play to get some insight from Garrett and Tony on the project, along with the full part, followed up with insight from the judges for your viewing pleasure! Check it!

Sneak Peek: Flybikes – Lunar Rim

September 25, 2016

It looks like Flybikes have decided to revamp their popular Classic rim for 2017. Flybikes have released a few sneak previews of their new Lunar rim that will be hitting BMX shops and mail-orders toward the end of October / Early November. The rim features extra rounded edges to help resist ping flats, a deeper rim bed to make it easier to seat the tire, increased the overall width of the rim with offset spoke holes to increase the strength and kept the extra drilled holes for rotational weight savings. The rim also features a welded seam, which was really popular on their original Classic rim. The Lunar rim will be available in black, dark gold and their new Space Grey colorway through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Flybikes worldwide toward the end of October!

Federal Bikes – Interbike 2016 Product Range

The Federal Bikes crew were at Interbike 2016 with the Tip Plus crew in their suite a little ways away from the Mandalay Bay where Interbike was going down. Scotty Cranmer – 30 Tricks in 30 Minutes

Scotty Cranmer coming through with another video from his trip to California. This time around him and Big Boy try and get 30 tricks done in 30 minutes around there hotel. Scotty also gives Big Boy some insight into how to hang five with just your bars, fork and front wheel. Hit play and check out what they got into.

“We made it to the 2nd portion of our California trip! We are in Long Beach now and we are here to work with Nissan at the Japanese Classic Car show where they are debuting the 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo to the USA for the first time! I am so excited for the weekend and I am extremely busy but we still managed to film a riding video for you all! We decided to try and do a 30 tricks in 30 minutes challenge riding around the queen Mary and it was way harder then we both thought! Big Boy did some really original Big Boy style tricks and I ended up getting a few tricks that i was happy with as well! After the challenge was over we went into the hotel which is actually an old cruise ship from the 1930’s and as busy as i was i didn’t remember until after were checked in that we were going to be staying in one of the most haunted place in the world! Big Boy is freaking out! He is so scared now and it is so funny to watch! We will see what happens tonight and we will check in with him in the morning!”
