Working Class BMX – Troy Merkle

January 5, 2016

This is pretty rad. Zack Gerber dropped this new BMX video featuring Troy Merkle giving us a little insight into what he does when he’s not riding, along with a bunch of rad riding clips! Hit play and check it out!

“What’s there to say about Troy Merkle? Troy has been a name in the midwest BMX scene for as long as I can remember. Troy has a style all of his own with technical street riding with a touch of flatland style. Troy isn’t afraid of a gnarly setup up either. Here we examine Troy’s introduction to BMX, and his day job. All parts of a modern day, professional level, BMX enthusiast. Troy’s pure love for BMX is captures, and his mellow, positive attitude speaks for itself. The entire interview process was done without Troy’s knowledge. What you have here are his truest, most honest words about life and the love of BMX. Troys rules. Enjoy.
Working Class BMX’s first candid, mini interview. More to come.

Mongoose – Greg Illingworth: Irritable Bowl Syndrome

January 5, 2016

Greg Illingworth has messed around with trannies for so long that he has developed irritable bowl syndrome! (Man, I never thought I’d say a line like that…) Luckily, this disorder can be controlled by roasting bowls on the regular! Here’s his latest BMX video from Mongoose where he crushes a handful of different cement and wood bowls, and even some transition he found out on the streets! Amazing riding for sure! Enjoy!

“Greg Illingworth has Irritable Bowl Syndrome. He gets agitated if he goes too long without riding a bowl in some shape or form. “I absolutely love riding bowls.” Says Greg, “I moved to London this year and now have 4 completely different bowls within riding distance from my house. I ended up riding tons of bowls this year and it just made sense to film an all bowl edit.” You’ll also get to see him hit a legendary spot in Japan. So watch how Greg cures his IBS.

Harry Main On Madd Gear?

January 5, 2016

not-madd

Update: Thanks to Loke Sörensen who pointed this one out. Harry says it’s not Madd Gear… Which is a relief. We were wrong on our guess. So… Let the guessing continue until tomorrow…

UPDATE #2: Harry has announced who he is riding for… Find out who it is RIGHT HERE.

We don’t speculate all too often unless we have pretty good reason to believe our assumptions. Today, Harry Main posted two videos of him riding at Rampworx. Conicidentally, there were three Madd Gear banners above him and the sticker on his head tube (all though pretty hard to tell from the Instagram quality) do appear to be the same as the Madd Gear logo. We’ve seen a number of comments on Facebook from people guessing who Harry would be riding for after leaving Hyper and Snafu at the start of the year that mentioned he was “riding scooters now”… Which wouldn’t be too far off since Madd Gear is a scooter brand that has dabbled in BMX a little bit.

Obviously, this is just our guess based off a few coincidental pieces we spotted on a video clip, so we could be wrong. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
