This Is The Spot

February 16, 2011

Yesterday, Logan Reynolds hit me up with a link to the trailer of his new video “This Is The Spot”. I was pleasantly surprised because I knew he was working on a video, I just kind of forgot about it since I haven’t seen him since we were hammering back free pitchers at Crispy’s the night before the Sun Ringle trip last summer. I’m real psyched about this video because it features some of my good friends, and a lot of absolute shredders from the Midwest scene. Guys like Jeff Dowhen, Reed Stark, Jeff K, Jon Wells and Erik Elstran are just to name a few of the stacked list you can see from the trailer. I’m not sure of the exact release, if there will be a premiere or what, but I’m going to hit up Logan and get some answers about the video. Hit up MidwestBMX.net to find out more for now.

Eric Holley Bike Check

February 13, 2011

Eric Holley Bike Check

I had the chance to catch up with Eric Holley when he stopped by to do some judging at the contest I threw the other week. I decided I’d shoot a few photos of his bike so you guys can see what he is riding these days, then I tossed him a few questions to see what else is new. Check it out and then leave him some love in the comments…

Case Issue 5

February 13, 2011

Case BMX Magazine

I had the new issue of Case BMX Magazine show up the other day. Just looking at the screen printed cover of Geoff Slattery is pretty wild. It’s definitely got more to it than the cover as well.
A few of the things I was really digging in this issue were the Mike Ardelean iPath interview. Mike talks a little about all the different jobs he has had to get to where he today. Mike also talks about the iPath BMX program and Verde bikes things he is involved with these days. Greg Smee has a quick interview about what he’s up to with some real good photos. Also, the Anthem II interview with Stew Johnson by Mark Noble that was a solid read, even after reading all of the other interviews, and such. The photos from Vincent Perraud, Jay Eichhorst and Brian Yeagle to go with the feature are definitely a treat as well.

The issue also has features with Josh Cox, Brian Kachinsky, Brian Hinkel, Paul Heathcote, Vans Kill the Line, Hazelwood spot check, and a Ryan Popple profile and more…

You can pick up a copy at CaseBMX.com or through Wasted Youth in the U.S. All you gotta pay is the shipping and it’s yours. $5.

Zac Miner Interview

February 10, 2011

Zac Miner

Maybe it’s just me getting excited about the Colony video, or because it’s currently -13 degrees out and Australia is warm, but I’ve been psyched on finding more about some of the Australian guys. Zac Miner is up to bat next and this dude is wild. Zac kills it on a bike and knows how to take some money from a casino. Hell, he even marries seriously hot girls that he just met. Zac has been busy filming for a few projects, working on a signature frame, and traveling quite a bit so I figured he was ready for some questions. Check out what he has to say and some real good photos from Cooper Brownlee, and then leave him some love in the comments!

Mick Bayzand Interview

February 7, 2011

Mick Bayzand

Mick Bayzand is one of the regular names popping up around the Australian scene the past few years from the Colony team. I figured with Mick’s 2nd signature Colony Teddy X Strictly collaboration in the works, recovering from a pretty wild injury, and filming at full speed for the Colony video that it was a good time for some questions. Mick came through with some real solid answers in the process of all of this. So, check out some photos and videos, then leave him some love in the comments!

BV Jam Quick Edit

February 7, 2011

Erik Elstran popped together a quick edit from the Bluff Valley Jam that I threw on the 29th. It was a pretty relaxed day but there were definitely some good times had. Thanks again to all the people who came out and everyone that sponsored the event.

Oh, and a little heads up. New site coming soon.

BV Jam 2011 Photos

February 2, 2011

BMX photos

This past weekend was the first Bluff Valley Jam that I had been working on for the past few weeks. It seems like it came up as fast as it went. The day started off with plenty of people making the trip in from the locals to the guys from the Twin Cities all the way to a bunch of guys from the Chicago area that made the trek up for the event. That was just the start to things because things were about to start getting a whole lot more ridiculous. I was pretty busy during the contest part making sure the runs kept going through smooth and everything was organized with the help of my dude Deljon on the mic, so I only have photos from the rail jam and big air. I saw Erik Elstran filming along with a few others so hopefully an edit from the day surfaces soon. Check out some photos from what I had time to shoot…

Update: BV Jam 2011 Flyer

January 26, 2011

BV Jam 2011

Where has January gone? It flew on by real quick along with the million other things going on. Either way, the 29th is the big day for the jam I’m throwing at Bluff Valley skatepark which is this SATURDAY. Above is the updated flyer. I was able to get a lot of support for the jam as you can see by all the sponsors for the flyer, and I’ve already got a ton of stuff to hook everyone up with (with more still on the way!) for riding and coming out. I’d like to thank everyone who pitched in to help make this happen. The doors open at noon Saturday with the contest getting underway at 2. It will be $10 for the whole day with half the money coming in for the day going towards the prize money being given out. I hope you can make it out.
Check out some prize photos after the jump.
