Aichwald Trails Summer 2020

We’re always stoked when some fresh trails footage surfaces online. Freedom BMX uploaded this new one from the sessions that have been going down at the Aichwald Trails over in Germany. Despite COVID shutting things down for a while, it looks like they were still able to salvage the summer with some proper sessions with friends. Hit play to check out what went down! “TRAILS ARE FOR THE PEOPLE!

The year 2020 has not been the easiest for us on the Aichwaldtrails, as probably for pretty much everyone in the (BMX) world. We had to cancel our jam for the 15th anniversary, we weren’t allowed to drive until June, etc. Of course we didn’t just sit on the couch and wait until the “sports facilities” were allowed to reopen, but without further ado we have a new pump track and a new beginner line built, which has expanded our range of fun for all ages and skill levels.

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of enjoying a successful trail session knows how difficult it is to put the cross bike aside for a moment in order to capture the rare spectacle. Even if the ski jumping hill season started later than usual for us this year, we managed to keep the camera on it every now and then over the summer.

Due to an injury, I had a lot of time in the last few weeks and therefore put the clips that have been filmed so far in this video. Warning: The video contains neither professional stunts nor was it professionally produced. You can only see good friends who have fun jumping over their self-made heaps of earth and sharing the whole thing with friends and guests from all over Europe!

If someone is interested and wants to stop by for a session (or more), they can contact us at any time. As you all know, riding trails is not like riding a skate / bike park. There is work to be done during every session, if we get help, that’s enough. Nobody has to shovel with us all winter long at 5 degrees and drizzling rain.

DIY BMX Jam 2020

Over the years we’ve seen a lot of DIY spots. Some are pretty small and held together by a few nails, and others are far more elaborate and crazy. Zac Miner and a bunch of dudes down in Australia build a DIY park with a ton of concrete, making a wild looking setup with quarters, hips, spines, box jumps, transfer lines, rails and more. Here’s a look at what they built! It’s a little rough around the edges, but damn does this place look fun. Hit play to check out a bunch of riders enjoying the place during a jam that went down recently.

S&M Bikes – Chris Childs Welcome To The Pro Team

After being let go from Sunday, it didn’t take Chris Childs to find a new home since he was on an S&M Bikes setup and out on trips with the S&M crew almost immediately. Well, it also didn’t take long for S&M to give him the official bump on up to the Pro team (Maybe he was on Pro from day 1? I don’t know) which I think everyone expected! Here’s his welcome video bringing the news filled with a bunch of dialed clips from the #1 style rat! Stoked on this!
