MUTINY BIKES – MIDLANDS

August 16, 2019

It has been a little while since we’ve had something fresh from Mutiny Bikes to enjoy, but it looks like the brand is firing on all cylinders again after laying low for a bit. Here’s a fresh video they dropped featuring Jeff Wescott, Robbo and Tom Russell cruising street and DIY spots, ramps and trails over in the U.K! Needless to say, this is packed with some great riding, good vibes and super clean film work. This is definitely a BMX video you won’t want to pass up! After you check this out, make sure you get a look at the new Mutiny Bikes website!

“It’s been while since we had got some of the team together. It feels like even longer since we had new product… to celebrate the release of the new Comb frame. we sent Jeff Wescott over to ride with Robbo and Tom Russell. This video documents 10 days on the road with the guys. Of course being in the UK, the guys had to battle the rain and many other elements but when you are riding with your friends you’ve got to let the good times roll!” – Mutiny Bikes

Also, if you are curious what Mutiny has been up to as of late…

“If you’ve been following us for any amount of time, you’ll have noticed that we’ve been a little quiet over the last 18 months. It’s no secret that the industry is in a bit of tuff spot. Which in turn, has effected our manufacturing and international distribution. Well good news, next month we’ll finally have new product starting to become available.
•
A huge thank you to Brandon Hoerres for helping making the new site.
•
We were founded back in 1998, from a deep underlying cynicism towards the state of the BMX industry at the time. Mutiny Bike Co. has been rider owned and run for almost 20 years. Independently owned and operated from day one.
•
Our goals for all of our products are to create the most durable frames, forks, handlebars and parts to help further the progression of BMX riding. All while creating aesthetically pleasing products with no gimmicks.
We are here to support BMX. From our team to your local scene, we want to make sure that BMX never loses it’s D.I.Y philosophy and keep BMX in the hands of BMXers.

Vans BMX Pro Cup Mexico 2019 – Practice Highlights

August 16, 2019

The Vans BMX Pro Cup is heating up down in Mexico (literally) and things are already getting moist. Check out a bunch of highlights from the practice laps some of the guys have been getting in while figuring out the lines, dodging the water bubbling up in the deep end and more. It sounds like this park might not be quite as amazing as it looks, but the ramps that Jason Watts and Trey Jones added in seem to be on point! Check out what went down, along with some perspectives below!

“Water floating up from the cracks in the bowl messed up the first official day of practice—and we weren’t there anyway—so here’s what we’re calling the first official practice at the Mexico City stop of the Vans BMX Pro Cup.” – Our BMX

“There’s water in the bowl… and it’s coming from underground. Seriously. Watch this to see what the riders are dealing with and to hear from Trey Jones, Dennis Enarson, Chris James, Josh Dove, Matty Cranmer, and more!” – Vital BMX

“Take a cruise along with Sir Jason Watts as he goes around the new park on the series. Shot on the GoPro Hero 7 Black. Too easy.” – Our BMX

Deco BMX – 10 Years

August 15, 2019

It’s pretty wild how fast time flies when you’re having fun! DECO is celebrating their 10th anniversary already and Chad DeGroot put together this mix featuring all the different riders that have supported the brands over the years. This is a mix of street, flatland and park clips and it’s a real good watch. Congratulations to Chad on the milestone!

“Ten years old or young. Consider it young and still growing. Time does roll fast but memories remain the focus and growing by the day. Could go on and on but the main words I want to say are: Thank You to all the playas who ride and support this dream. Growing in the bmx business world is like a roller coaster; more smiles for miles and the gleaming and glistening of the future while keeping the passion going.

I want more. Way more. Thank you. Here’s to 10more.

-Chad Degroot

PS- The “DE” in Deco is the first part of my last name and the “CO” is for company = DECO or DeGroot Company.

Return of Rebel

August 15, 2019

As some of you know, Austin Aughinbaugh does his VLOGS, but he also does some longer form videos that are less vloggy. Here’s a 30 minute video he put together giving an in-depth look into what went down during the Vans Rebel Jam the other weekend in Huntington Beach, California. If you have some time, it’s a good watch with plenty of riding footage to enjoy. Hit play and take it all in!

“FIT’s Austin Augie put together this long-form video piece on the return of the unique and infamous Vans Rebel Jam, and it’s first time appearance on US soil after a short hiatus. Sit back and watch 30 minutes of interviews, behind the scenes randomness, riding and laughs, from the amazing weekend in Huntington Beach, CA.

What It’s Like To Work At S&M And Fit Bike Co.

August 14, 2019

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work at S&M Bikes and Fit Bike Co.? When you think of a job at a BMX company like those two brands, a lot of people think of things like being a Pro rider, a welder, designer or a sales rep. Those are all pretty cool jobs, but there’s a lot more to it that you might not ever consider like accounting, figuring out the logistics to get product shipped from the manufacturer to the brand or distributors, even IT keeping the computers running smooth. It also usually involves people who wear a lot of different hats to ensure everything gets done. Kareem Williams recently spent some time bouncing around the S&M Bikes and Fit Bike Co. warehouse to find out what all the different people do there. As it turns out, a lot of people do everything and that’s the key to keeping the wheels turning! Check it out!
