Angie has been CRUSHING it for quite some time now and it’s awesome seeing how far she has taken things since she started coming on the scene. Vans Rebel Jam 2019 – FINALS

The 2019 Vans Rebel Jam BMX finals went off earlier today out in Huntington Beach, California with some of the best BMX riders in the world on the course. “Closing out the opening weekend of the Vans US Open with crowds ablaze, the first-ever Vans Rebel Jam BMX street competition held on American soil concluded its final rounds, awarding decorated BMX riders Dennis Enarson and Perris Benegas as the event’s overall winners. Showcasing 18 of the world’s best street riders in the finals, the Vans Rebel Jam also recognizes originality and innovation with individual rider awards ranging from most creative, hard trick, and best overall style. The 2019 Vans Rebel Jam is unique in all of the industry for championing prize parity for competitors and matching podium winnings for men and women.

In the Men’s division, all-terrain BMX specialist Dennis Enarson conquered the street course with ease, utilizing speed and power to demonstrate expert bike control, and land difficult maneuvers and unexpected lines. Commanding the lead in prelims, it’s no surprise Enarson prevailed in the finals.

Joining Enarson on the podium is the ever-diverse Boyd Hilder in 2nd, landing huge airs and backflips to please the crowds, while Garrett Reynolds’ clean consistency and technical style earned him 3rd.

In the women’s division, Perris Benegas was the field outlier, impressing the judges with big airs, clean feeble grinds, and connecting runs like a pro. Benegas completed a notable peg grind over the rainbow rail, sealing the deal for her victory. Joining Benegas on the podium, Angie Marino in 2nd and Natasha Wetzel in 3rd, who each illustrated their own creativity and style in the first-ever women’s event in Rebel Jam competition history.

For a dramatic finale, winners of the Best Trick navigated the custom-designed Cult wall obstacle, demonstrating a clinic of some of the most difficult and creative tricks in BMX. See below for the full results and watch the full replay and VansUSOpenofSurfing.com.

Vans Rebel Jam 2019 – Qualifier Highlights

The 2019 Vans Rebel Jam kicked off yesterday in Huntington Beach during the Vans US Open of Surfing. Some of the top street riders dropped in on the course that was built on the beach to throw down some wild moves. Here’s a quick highlight video above from the qualifier that Vans dropped, then get a look at how Dennis Enarson qualified for first below, along with the bunnyhop an high air contests below! Looks like it was an awesome day. Expect plenty more from the finals soon!

“Groups of five riders had 15 minutes to ride the course at the Rebel Jam. That meant that some groups got like eight runs… So, needless to say, a lot of amazing riding went down. The Vans Rebel Jam is going down at the Vans US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach this year, and they built a brand new course specifically for this week right on the beach. Mike Gray threw the 6th annual Canadian BMX Day jam at an outdoor park for everyone to get together for a day of riding, good times and ree goodies from the sponsors. Brian Tunney – July 2019 Clips

Brian Tunney had us checking the calendar when we saw his monthly video pop up! It looks like Brian will be a little busy next week with X Games stuff, so he gifted us his monthly edit from his flatland sessions a few days earlier than expected. As always, Brian delivers with some great riding and song selection. This one even has a few unexpected things like a clip he literally got during one of the Earthquakes out in California and more. Take a look! This doesn’t disappoint.

“I had to finish this early cause of that whole X Games thing happening next week. Between earthquakes (check the second clip) and a random dude threatening to break my neck because I took the lord’s name in vain on an aborted attempt, it’s been quite a month of riding. The nice thing is, even in crazy busy months, the BS magically disappears for a time when I go ride. It’s part escape but also part therapy and I hope that doesn’t go away for some time to come. Sorry for the depressing Owen song in advance.”

2019 Vans BMX Rebel Jam U.S Open Course Preview

The 2019 Vans Rebel Jam has made its way to Huntington Beach as part of the bigger Vans US Open of Surfing! The contest is going off this weekend and it looks like Vans built up a crazy street plaza to ride for the week. Up top is a video where Dakota Roche talks a little bit about the contest and the course, then goes to work stacking a few clips. Below you can find a more in-depth tour of the park in a video from Scotty Cranmer! This is bound to be a blast, so get stoked and expect to see a ton of footage from this one.
