Profile Racing have released their latest Tech Tip for you to check out. This time around they have focused in on their No Boss Cranks. Bossless cranks are for those of you who prefer Spline Drive versus the traditional cranks that require a bolt to hold your sprocket in place. Odyssey BMX – Calibur 3-Piece Cranks
Is it time for a new set of BMX cranks? The new Calibur Cranks from Odyssey are starting to land at BMX shops and mail-orders. The Calibur cranks are a traditional style 3-piece crankset for those of you who don’t prefer Odyssey’s Thunderbolt style 2-piece cranks. You can find heat-treated chromoly tubular arms and a 22mm, 48-spline, hollow chromoly spindle with 6mm bolts to keep it all tight. These cranks feature sprocket bosses on both arms, so they are left and right side compatible. These also come with a 22mm, MID bottom bracket, so you don’t have to buy one of those separately.
The Calibur Cranks from Odyssey BMX are available in black and chrome, lengths of 165mm, 170mm and 175mm with a price tag starting at $149.99 – $159.99 based on color.
Do note that these cranks are heat-treated, but they are not covered by Odyssey’s 41 Thermal lifetime warranty they offer on some of their products. How To Install Profile Racing Cranks with Spline Drive Sprocket

Profile Racing have released this new How To video explaining all the proper steps to installing a new set of their BMX cranks with a Spline Drive sprocket. The Spline Drive system allows you to eliminate the need for a sprocket bolt, simplifying things with less parts involved in the process. This video takes you through all the steps from getting the sprocket on the spindle to making sure the cranks are properly tightened down. After that, you also get all the steps on how to remove the cranks as well. This is a pretty easy process that only gets easier after you have done it a few times. Merritt BMX – Battle Cranks
Merritt have released their new Battle cranks that are designed to stand up to anything you can throw at them from street sessions to skateparks and trails.
Is it time for some new BMX Cranks? The crew over at Merritt have released their new Battle Cranks that are available through BMX shops and mail-orders worldwide now. The Battle cranks start out with fully heat-treated 4130 chromoly arms with wrap welded spindle and pedal bosses. The arms have a rectangle shape to help increase the overall strength and a laser-etched Merritt logo. The arms connect to a 22mm hollow chromoly spindle with chromoly bolts that also come with rubber plugs to help prevent the dreaded crank arm bite. To make things easier, Merritt have included the tool for installation and removal.
The Merritt Battle cranks come in black with lengths of 165mm, 170mm and 175mm, a weight of 33.8 oz. (without bottom bracket) for $179.99 through BMX shops and mail-orders now. Since both arms come with sprocket bosses, these are left and right side drive compatible. Note: These cranks do NOT come with a bottom bracket.

Profile Racing – Tech Tip: Shorter BMX Crank Arm Size
The guys over at Profile Racing have released their latest “Tech Tip” feature. This time around they take a look at some of the benefits of shorter crank arm sizes for the freestyle side of BMX. With the 2017 product starting to land at BMX shops and mail-orders worldwide, it’s a perfect time to take a closer look at all of the new frames and parts that Mutiny Bikes have to offer to their line up! As always, Mutiny did an amazing job of creating a line that is not only strong, but aesthetically pleasing, too. They also have avoided having a massive line of products, by only creating products that they feel they can offer something of value, versus just pumping out every part possible and slapping a Mutiny logo on it. 2017 Comb Frame
The Jeff Wescott signature Comb frame is looking dialed with a fresh coat of Honey Red paint. This frame is made from 4130 Sanko chromoly tubing with a 74.9-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 9″ standover height and a 13.2″ – 13.75″ chainstay length. You can find a taller 125mm Integrated, offset thickness head tube that is heat-treated for additional strength, top and down tube gussets with the debossed “Badge ‘N Bones” logo, double-butted top tube, straight gauge elliptical down tube to help resist denting, a heat-treated Mid bottom bracket, integrated seat post clamp with the horizontal cut for better clamping with less torque, a custom seat stay bridge, 6mm thick dropouts with integrated chain tensioners and removable brake mounts on the seat stay.
The 2017 Comb frame comes in Honey Red for the only color with 20.8″, 21.1″ and 21.3″ top tube lengths!

2017 Death Grip Frame
The brand new Dylan Lewis signature Death Grip frame has been getting plenty of buzz thanks to the past few months where Dylan really caught everyones attention at the Van Doren Invitational and Battle of Hastings contests. The Death Grip is made from full 4130 Sanko chromoly tubing with a 74.5-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.65″ bottom bracket height, 9.15″ standover height and a 13.7″ – 14.2″ chainstay length. You can find the offset thickness, heat-treated, 125mm tall Integrated head tube, top and down tube gussets with the Badge ‘N’ Bones logo, a triple butted top tube, double butted down tube, heat-treated Mid bottom bracket, Integrated seat post clamp with the horizontal cut to give better clamping with less torque, 6mm thick dropouts with Integrated chain tensioners and removable chainstay brake mounts.
The Death Grip frame comes in Gloss Raw for the only color with top tube lengths of 21.3″, 21.6″ and 21.8″. This frame is ideal for the taller rider or somebody who loves roasting trails or transitions without the fear of looping out.

2017 Obscura Frame
Next up, we have the Grant Castelluzzo signature Obscura frame. Once again, Mutiny and Grant came up with an amazing color for the frame. The Obscura frame is made from full 4130 Sanko chromoly tubing with a 75-degree head tube angle, 70-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 8.95″ standover height and a 12.75″ – 13.6″ chainstay length. The frame has the offset thickness, heat-treated, 125mm tall Integrated head tube with top and down tube gussets with the debossed Badge N Bones logo, a double butted top tube, straight gauge elliptical down tube to help resist denting, heat-treated Mid bottom bracket, Integrated seat post clamp with the horizontal cut to give better clamping with less torque, a custom seat stay bridge with the Mutiny logo and 6mm thick dropouts with the Integrated chain tensioners. This frame is completely brakeless, so there are no mounts. The steeper head tube, higher bottom bracket and shorter chainstay length makes for a responsive frame that’s ideal for technical street riding.
The 2017 Obscura frame comes in Translucent Olive for the only color with 20.2″, 20.6″, 20.8″ and 21.1″ top tube lengths available. Also note that this frame has a 70-degree seat tube angle so it makes the frame feel a bit shorter. You can learn about how it all works here — BMX Frame Geometry

The latest version of Tom “Robbo” Robinson‘s signature Villij frame has arrived. This frame geared toward cruising the trails in the woods has a few unique features not found on the other frames we have looked at. The frame is made from full 4130 Sanko chromoly tubing with a 74-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 8.6″ standover height and a 13.6″ – 14.1″ chainstay length. You can find the offset thickness, heat-treated, 125mm tall Integrated head tube with a down tube gusset with the Badge N Bones logo, a triple butted top tube, double butted down tube, heat-treated Mid bottom bracket, Integrated seat post clamp with the horizontal cut to give better clamping power with less torque, a custom seat stay bridge with the Mutiny Bikes logo, bullet tipped seat and chain stays, 5mm thick dropouts and welded on chainstay brake mounts.
The 2017 Villij frame comes in flat gray for the only color with 20.75″, 21″ and 21.25″ top tube lengths. This is a trails riding machine, but can hold up to some heavy street riding, too.

Primo BMX – Stevie Churchill Cranks
It looks like the new Stevie Churchill signature cranks from Primo have arrived. These BMX Cranks start out with 4130 heat-treated chromoly forged arms that have wrap welded pedal bosses, a one-piece spindle and sprocket boss, a beefy 24mm hollow chromoly spindle to help stand up to the heaviest of abuse from the streets and hollow flush mount bolts. The Stevie Cranks are right and left hand drive compatible, come in colors of black and raw, lengths of 170mm and 175mm, weigh in at 33 oz. (without bottom bracket) and include a 24mm Mid bottom bracket and multiple spacers!
