Bruce Crisman – “Salvation”

What were you doing back in 2002? Chances are, you were not crushing it on a BMX bike like Bruce Crisman. Shad over at Snakebite just uploaded Bruce’s section from the “Salvation” BMX video and it is pure FIRE. Bruce was grinding rails and riding backwards long before most of you kids and this only has a few freecoaster clips mixed in… Things really got wild once he started going full time on that. Hit play and check this out. Classic video part from one of BMX’s best.

Snakebite – Ron Wilkerson Interview

Snakebite‘s Shad Johnson dropped this rad podcast interview with Ron Wilkerson and Bruce Crimson where they sit around the table munching on chips talking the creation of Abubacas, classic bikes, old contests and more! Some of you older guys will LOVE this one, but I’d imagine you young guns might be a little confused if you don’t know much about BMX History, haha. Either way, hit play and enjoy this!

“From the minute I found out how bad it is transcribing an interview I knew I wanted to do a podcast instead. Last Thursday Bruce Crisman called me and said Ron Wilkerson was in town and I should come over and do a podcast. That was enough for me! I cruised over and we crammed into a room and just talked. Bruce and I talked to Ron about a bunch of things. Hot topics were why he changed the name Wilkerson Airlines to 2-Hip, how the 2-Hip team got kicked off of the Warped tour, the real origin of the Abubaca and numerous stories about the 2-Hip van and Kevin Martin blowing up engines!

This was our first podcast and I really had no time to prepare for this. I think it went over pretty well and I’m excited to do more in the future! If you guy’s here a few breaks in the interview it was just the few times we had to stop the tape due to Ron’s son Zander wanting to come in the room and hang with his dad for a bit and eat chips and salsa with us!” – Shad Johnson

Well, here’s a little more information on Bruce Crisman’s new signature freecoaster from KHE Bikes that they are working on. This video gives you a better look at the hub and some bonus riding footage from Bruce. I’m still curious as to what is going on, on the inside though. This hub will be out in MAY so start saving.

“Over the past 7 years KHE and I have developed the most reliable Freecoaster hubs that I have ever ridden throughout my BMX career. As for our newest Signature product; I am most impressed with how this hub offers even more slack to avoid pedal engagement during fakie tricks down large stair sets. And for those of you that prefer as little slack as possible; the hub feels as close to a cassette as you can get with a Freecoaster, right out of the box. Here’s a little preview of the new freecoaster that KHE and Bruce Crisman are currently working on that I spotted on The Merged. These guys have worked together on freecoaster’s in the past and I can only imagine this will be even better. According to Dave over at The Merged, this one will be out soon, so freecoaster riders can get excited now!
