Focalpoint – “Alive & Well” Intro / Trailer

July 5, 2017

A few weeks back, Focalpoint released their “Alive & Well” DVD that they were giving away for free with all orders in their store. Now, they have decided to start uploading sections from the video. Here’s the Intro that also doubled as the trailer! This is packed full of slams the guys took while working on the project and it’s safe to say they put in some hard work along the way!

“Filmed over 6 months outside of everyone’s full time jobs. Featuring sections from Jake Deering, Sean Falkenstein, Alex Bolton, Kym Grosser, Pat Freyne and Jack Kelly along with a stack of clips from crew around Australia.

Street Jammin’ 2017 – Prague

June 30, 2017

The 2017 Street Jammin’ Series has kicked off in Prague and it’s safe to say it was a great success. Here’s a highlight video giving you a look at all of the action that went down at a bunch of different spots the guys rolled to from rails and ledges to crazy transitions under bridges and more. Check it!

“A crew of about 50 riders from all over Europe descended upon the capital of The Czech Republic to mark Round 1 of the 2017 Street Jammin’ Series. Watch on for all the highlights. Round 1 of the Streetjammin’ Series was a definite success. Prague had proven itself to be the perfect city for a street jam and many sunburnt riders would sleep well that night because of it.

Round 2 of the Streetjammin’ Series will take place in Slovakia on July 22nd (BMX Day) so if you live in central Europe be sure to head down for this.

2017 New York Grands Alleycat Race

June 28, 2017

The annual New York Grands race went down the other weekend and a huge group of riders tore through New York cCity hitting checkpoints, dodging traffic and all racing to get to the finish line first. Here’s a video giving you a POV look at what the race was like! It’s kind of crazy not seeing Tyrone Williams not on that top spot!

“Over the course of the Bicycle Film Festival in NYC, 40+ of the quickest street-wise riders came together for the annual NY Grands race. This year, instead of cutting through open Brooklyn streets, the course wove its way through the heart of Manhattan. The fastest dudes in the city were gunning for a $500 cash purse, number plates for the top five finishers, and the title that comes along with winning one of the wildest BMX events this city has ever seen. Congrats to all who finished. This race was dedicated to the memory of Dave Preston Rodebaugh.

5.75 miles of red lights and tight traffic
19 minutes and 49 seconds – my time for 6th place
Average speed of 17.42mph

Bernhard Ebner – 9 Months In Salzburg

June 22, 2017

It has been a while since we’ve seen Bernhard Ebner‘s name pop up, but it’s safe to say he’s been busy putting in work on his bike. Check out this dialed new video that was filmed over the course of 9 months from psyche wards to street spots. Bernhard isn’t scared to send it on anything he comes across. Everything about this one kicks ass from the riding to the film work. Hit play and enjoy.

“Bernhard Ebner enjoys a few things, fixing up his old Ford Granada, exploring weird and wonderful Psychiatric children’s wards (seen in the intro) and firing out handrails. Bernhard spent 9 months filming in Salzberg for this and filmer Jakob Deutschmann put a huge amount f TLC into this. Sit down, and watch 7 minutes of Mr Ebner.

DIG Locals – Santa Cruz BMX Scene

June 20, 2017

It’s always a good day when a new video featuring Andy Maguire and the Santa Cruz crew surfaces online. Here’s a fresh mix of footage from Andy, Ryan Nyquist, Jackson Allen and many more from the Santa Cruz, California area getting down on street spots, skateparks and trails. This is packed with awesome riding and some real clean film work. Overall this is a great BMX video from start to finish, so take a look! You won’t be disappointed.

“Andy Maguire has been holding it down for the street scene in Santa Cruz for quite some time now so when he contacted Chris Bracamonte about filming some sort of scene report last year we were immediately on board. Here’s a few words about Santa Cruz from the man himself.

“A severed blue hand, screaming in pain; numerous bigfoot sightings; a 93-year old wooden roller coaster; and free Eddie Money concerts once a year. Aside from rich ocean scenery surrounded by forest seclusion, the small coastal town of Santa Cruz, California is a place that oozes character. On any given day, you will probably stumble across dreadlocked hippies, young skate punks who were born and raised gliding across concrete, surfers who come from all walks of life or the awkward UC student taking their first steps into life as an adult. I was definitely the last example when I moved here from the suburbs over 12 years ago. At first, this place seemed like an uncomfortable, strange place, but over the years, the quirks and the lifestyle of the area slowly normalized to the point that it fills me with appreciation to call this place my home.

I don’t think I would call it home if it weren’t for the amazing bike-riding community of Santa Cruz. Much like the populace, there is a wide variety of riders here; a few legends (Ryan Nyquist and Ron Wilkerson), people who dig trails, cruise the streets, ride ramps, and even pioneer their own forms of freestyle. The riders here also seem heavily shaped by the environment that surrounds them. Although many riders here are extremely talented, the laid-back, vacationing attitude generally prevails over the drive to become a professional bike rider or to “progress” the sport. One thing I find pretty refreshing about our scene is that after the sun goes down and your muscles hurt from riding all day, you can usually count on grabbing a beer and hanging out with your riding compatriots as friends, not just people who are around and share the same interests. The scene values enjoyment, friendship, and creativity, rather than the statistical values of views, likes, and quantity of barspins. If the idea of being a part of a BMX retirement community sounds enticing, I would highly recommend risking your life on Highway 17 to check out what Santa Cruz has to offer.”

DUB BMX – Filippakos Kosmidis In Liverpool

June 16, 2017

Here’s a fresh one from Filipos Kosmidis getting get down on the streets of Liverpool, England for DUB! This video starts out with a massive 360 down a stair set that probably left a few bumps and bruises, then it gets into grind combos and more on ledges and rails he came across. Check this out!

“You may know him by the name Filip Baf but don’t be alarmed, it’s the same guy and he’s back with a stormer of an edit for DUB. We bumped into him while he was over from Greece at the recent jam those guys threw in Liverpool and his knuckles were destroyed after the wild opening clip. Dude put in serious work throughout. Hopefully we’ll get to see him come back to the UK soon and handle that beast.

Weird & Revered – Indoor Refuge

June 15, 2017

The latest Weird & Revered video has arrived. This time around Justin Schwanke show us what him and his friends got into during the brutal Canadian winter. Luckily they had a few indoor parks and Justin’s garage ramps to keep things interesting. Check out what went down!

“Weird and Revered’s Justin Schwanke, Ted Bambrick, Logan Kirzinger, Lake Mulligan, Joe Weidman, Tilsyn Inch, Tyler Horness, and Thomas Henderson make the most of the Edmonton winter seeking refugee indoors at Ride N’ Play skatepark and a few private indoor ramp setups. Not only are these guys surviving the winter, but they are thriving despite the challenges it can present.” – DIG
