Comeback Kid – Leon Hoppe

January 24, 2021

It has been a little while since we’ve seen Leon Hoppe throwing down on his bike. It turns out he took some time off, but he’s back on it. Hit play for a fresh batch of clips filmed over the past year or so from street sessions. As always, Leon is a beast and throws down some technical lines filled with grinds, balance and bike control. We imagine we’ll be seeing plenty more from Leon in 2021 now that he’s fired back up.

“Don’t call it a comeback! After disappearing from the German scene for a minute, Radio Bikes rider Leon Hoppe is back with a new video that proves he’s still capable of throwing down hammers. Check it!

Leon Hoppe had become a little quieter in the past two years. It was rumored that the radio bike rider was now more interested in standing in the fan section of his favorite football club than on the bike.

Not least because this is currently not possible for known reasons, Leon has been spotted more and more at 20 inches in recent months. Old love just doesn’t rust. Now there is even a new video from him – and lo and behold: Leon has not forgotten anything. Rather, he throws wild double bars around him as always and the head-over-roll still sits like a one. 47 represent and welcome back, bears!

Paul Thölen – Winter Warehouse BMX Sessions

January 20, 2021

Whenever we see Paul Tholen‘s name pop up, we know we’re going to see something awesome. Here’s a new one from some riding time he got in at a new warehouse spot over in Germany where he absolutely BLASTS. Hit play to watch Paul get close to the ceiling, as well as bringing a TON of style to the table. This is a super good watch, so hit play and enjoy!

“Paul Thölen tearing the private Sportpiraten Warehouse in Flensburg (Germany) a new one.

Buckle up everyone, now it’s going to be fast! For his new edit, Paul Thölen pre-buttoned the ramp course in the warehouse of the Flensburg Sports Pirates – and ticked off one or the other hair-raising mission.

It goes without saying that he did this with a lot of style. And of course, the freedombmx park driver of the year 2020 still knows where the boost button is in his North German adopted home. It is more surprising that Paul went on a short excursion into the world of grind sport while filming. In short: don’t miss it!

PS: Before you all set off to Flensburg to visit the hall, here is an important note: The park is not open to the public!” – Freedom BMX

BMX Fails 2020

January 18, 2021

Crashing on a BMX bike sucks, but it happens! Freedom BMX dug through their footage from 2020 (and 2019) and dug out a bunch of BMX fails for you to hit play on. There’s some real brutal ones and some pretty funny ones. Hit play and feel the pain!

“Maximum reach with minimal effort – let’s see whether voyeurism is also the trump card in 2021. Here are the best fails and falls from (almost) all freedombmx videos of 2020. Our hardest plugged in for our cameras are definitely Dean Florian, Alex Stinshoff and Marius Dietsche, who have been extremely tough over the past 12 months . YEWW!

January 10, 2021

The crew over at Freedom BMX uploaded this new one featuring Tomi P. Nagy going to work on ramps, street spots and dirt jumps over the course of 2020. This is packed with dialed riding and a super good mix of tricks keeping things pretty unpredictable and exciting to watch. Hit play because this BMX video does not disappoint.

The Hungarian jack-of-all-trades Tomi P. Nagy regularly pulls out the most incredible tricks for his Instagram account. Christian Gattinger “Bad News”

January 4, 2021

It’s never good getting bad news, but fortunately this new one from Freedom BMX featuring Christian Gattinger isn’t actually bad news at all. Hit play for over 2 minutes of action from the streets of Germany!

“Here are some leftovers from Christian Gattinger’s entry to our Bangers Freestyle Film Festival for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Servus, here comes the new video from Christian Gattinger! The 360-degree team driver has rummaged through his hard drive and discovered some previously unpublished clips of himself and his filmmaker homies. Thick shoutout at this point to the three. You really did a great job on Christian’s Bangers video!

Most of the clips for the video above, which is a kind of Bangers leftover edit, were stacked by the guys in Landshut, Freising and Munich in summer 2020. A few beers and snippets of newspaper later “Bad News” was ready. Christian was of the opinion that since you read almost only negative in the newspaper at the moment, the title actually fits quite well. He is not entirely wrong about that.

The result is reminiscent of the design of the “Fake News” tape by the Ciao crew, so you are in good company. What the two videos also have in common is that they are driven in a refreshingly calm street. Anyone who is enthusiastic about grind sports should definitely take a look here. Yeww!

Seppl Pospischil – The 25th Year

December 8, 2020

We’re not quite sure how we missed this one, but this gem has been online for almost two months! 2020 marks 25 years of BMX for Seppl Posphishil, and to celebrate he whipped up this new edit filled with amazing flatland, street and park clips. Seppl has creative style that mixes the different styles of riding together, similar to Matthias Dandois, that keeps you guessing just what might come next. Hit play because this is a real good watch!

“In fact, the last three years of BMX riding have been an emotional roller coaster. I’ve had back problems for a long time (who doesn’t have them) and in between a hip damage, which luckily has healed. At the beginning of 2020 I destroyed my shoulder after I was finally fit again with my back. I used the break to clean up my archive and found various unpublished material (180+ clips!). In addition, I had to state that I can celebrate my 25th BMX anniversary in BMX 2020 So what could be more natural than to make a video from the material?

To see the thing finished now has a “treat”. Unfortunately, driving flatland seriously has not been possible for a long time. My back allowed driving street earlier. Often, against better knowledge, my ego came through, which was promptly acknowledged with lumbago. You just have to listen to your body more and switch to vacation mode if necessary. I had to learn that first. My kids and my wife are mainly responsible for the good vibes in the video, who forced me to look in front of the camera on our trips, even if I sometimes didn’t want to. For that a big THANK YOU and therefore the home video character in one place or another 😉

Many thanks also go to SIBMX / Bodo Hellwig for 17 years of excellent support. And I would also like to thank Ali from Moto for the pedals and the kunstform BMX Shop for everything else.

Somehow this video comes full circle. 25 years ago I started riding BMX as a youngster in the skate park, now I’m back with my boys. Let’s see what the future will bring … I’m definitely up for it!

Cheers” – Seppl Pospischi

Old Boys Reunion at Skatehalle Aurich

December 3, 2020

When there’s a Rodeo Grind in the cover photo, you are required by BMX law to watch it.

Ohhh yeah. Here’s one that will get the Mid School riders psyched. Freedom BMX dug into the archive and pulled out this gem from 2012 featuring a few of Germany’s finest throwing down at Skatehall Aurich. The cover photo alone had us stoked to hit play on this one. We’re pretty sure we posted this one when it originally came out, but it’s definitely worth a repost. Everything from the riding to the music is so good and will definitely bring anyone who has been riding for 10+ years back. Even th Hit play and enjoy! We definitely miss seeing this kind of BMX video.

“Blast from the blast from 2012 with German BMX GOATS Tobias Wicke, Björn “Bommel” Mager, Sergej Geier, Markus Braumann and Jan Bekurtz shredding Germany’s biggest indoor park aka Skatehalle Aurich.

For today’s #damalsdonnerstag we travel back to the year 2012. Back then Felix Prangenberg, Paul Thölen and Dean Florian weren’t the most blatant drivers in Germany, but guys like Tobias Wicke, Björn “Bommel” Mager, Sergej Geier and Markus Braumann. Here is a video that the All-Stars filmed eight years ago in the Aurich skate hall, where there was no Advent jam for the first time in over 20 years. You don’t know what to shake your head about anymore. That one of the most beautiful traditions of the German BMX scene was interrupted or how far ahead of their time the guys were back then. Real goats, uh, goats are that. MÄÄÄH!

Here is the text of the video on our page from 2012:
“Tobias Wicke, Björn” Bommel “Mager, Sergej Geier, Markus Braumann and Jan Bekurtz locked themselves for a few days in the Playground Skatehalle Aurich. It goes without saying that Bommel had his camera equipment with him in addition to his bike, which was currently without brakes we will witness today that they not only competed in transitions there, but surprisingly also spent a lot of time on the many grind obstacles in Germany’s largest skate hall. But see for yourself … ”

Fit X Allride – Kilian Reichmeyer 2020 Video

November 30, 2020

Fit Bike Co.‘s connect over in Germany through Allride Distribution, Kilian Reichmeyer coming through with a fresh batch of footage from the sessions he has been getting out in the streets. Take a look at all these real solid clips!

“Kilian Reichmeyer on fire, killing it on the streets of Munich (Germany) for @Fitbikeco. and AllRide BMX Distribution. Yeww!

After the new video by Kilian Reichmeyer for Fitbikeco. and AllRide BMX Distribution celebrated its world premiere last weekend as part of our big “freedombmx Awards 2020” online award ceremony (see HERE), the thing is now also available as a single on our YouTube channel. And with what? Rightly of course!

Because the edit is a decent board, for which Kilian has been busy piling one hammer clip after the next on the streets of Munich over the past few months. There is also one or two clips from Cologne, but only marginally. It is much more important that you click on “Play” immediately. Kilian is going off – and really!
