One Dude One Weekend – Marcel Gans

April 25, 2019

Freedom BMX coming through with an awesome video featuring Marcel Gans crushing it during some indoor park sessions over the course of a weekend over in Germany. Marcel put his deep bag of tricks to work and ended up stacking a ton of great clips! Hit play and check it out! Also, the description below from Freedom is a little weird due to the translation.

“Boy, boy, Marcel Gans was really rock hard for his “One Dude One Weekend” -Edit! That at the end “only” two minutes of footage have come around, some may wonder at this point, but it is only logical. Finally, Marcel had made the daring plan to film Banger for this project.

Such an approach, of course, has its price, because Banger are by nature not only particularly demanding tricks, but usually not completely harmless. Correspondingly, Marcel often had to move his residence to study in Trier in the cathedral city in the P5 skate hall at Bremen Central Station, the skating hall Oldenburg and in Hall 59 in Cologne, where the German Colony rider is in the rest of Local has, on the boards. Many a trick in the video above was only after a long fight in the box, some associated with great pain and / or near-death experiences and many a simply should not be because Marcel pushed the limits of his resilience. After three days of filming, he was accordingly both physically and psychologically at the end of his powers. Complained or even intended to give up, he still has not a second while filming. Instead, Marcel has passionately done his best and despite various impacts always had a smile on his lips.

Here is the result of a weekend full of blood, sweat and incredibly large bruises, but also with one, two canned beer too much, good sessions among friends and the occasional adrenaline rush. In short, a weekend that included everything that belongs to a decent BMX weekend. Many thanks to Fun4u, Colonys Deutschlandvertrieb, who provided us with a first-class equipped van, as well as to Michael Hanfler and Arne Knattert for the hospitality and the organizing of the Nightsession in Bremen. BMX is tight!” – Freedom BMX

The crew at Freedom BMX made the trip over from Germany and have this highlight reel from practice to check out! Needless to say, even though it’s practice there was no shortage of dialed riding. Take a look!

“We out here in Japan for the 1st stop of the FISE World Tour 2019. Check out some highlights of the Men’s and Women’s BMX Park Practice, feat. Logan Martin, Hannah Roberts, Kevin Peraza, Lara Lessmann, James Jones and many more.” – Freedom BMX

Game of HORST: Felix Prangenberg vs. Tom Weikert

April 16, 2019

The crew at Freedom BMX caught up with Felix Prangenberg and Tom Weikert to have them go head to head in a game of HORST (like horse, but German). This video is all in German, but fortunately the riding is easy to understand. Hit play to see what the guys threw down and who won!

“This episode of Game of HORST holds a special treat, because no one less than the street driver and the newcomer of the year 2018, Felix Prangenberg and Tom Weikert, competed against each other in Hall 59 in Cologne-Kalk. Felix was known to have been instrumental in getting Tom to wethepeople, so the question arose in advance as to whether Tom would be a little bit calmer in gratitude. Although you do not have to handle a NORA cup and simple session winner with kid gloves – and especially not when it turns out to be a little know-it-all … Curb, Ledge, those are bourgeois categories!

Many thanks to Deejay Goldfinger for the beats and the freshly baked Cult and éclat rider Aaron Paffenholz for the moderation.

Beats by Deejay Goldfinger” – Freedom BMX

Best of Timm Wiegmann 1997-2018

March 28, 2019

It’s always rad seeing how a rider evolves over time. In most cases it’s only a couple years at most that we ever see that evolution. However, today we got a hell of a treat courtesy of Freedom BMX because they just dropped this new Timm Wiegmann video that spans 21 years! It’s pretty awesome seeing how Timm’s riding progressed, along with how styles and his bikes have changed over the years. Needless to say, this is an awesome watch, so take a look!

“Today’s episode of #damalsdonnerstag definitely belongs in the category “Deluxe”, because Timm Wiegmann has leaked a video for us in which he reviews his best moves from 1997 to 2018. Timm was always at the forefront when it comes to exploring the possibilities of what is technically possible on a BMX bike. You could even say that he was often a few years ahead of his time, so long is the list of tricks that he has made at least in Germany, if not the world first or as one of the first. Uprail to Nollie Bar, for example, was checked off by him in 2002, three years later Nollie to Tooth Hanger and Halfcab to Nozza were tuned and in between he also perfected the right Crankarmslides – not the newfangled rumble slide on the pedal, but fuller Crank arm contact with the rail. Risch table! And as if that was not enough, the list of tricks that Timm has not yet made a Barspin is extremely manageable. In short: There are only very few drivers in this country who have gone off for so long at such a high level as the East Frisian curly-haired head with the permanent grin on his face. But we have arrived at the most important point when it comes to describe Timms driving: Even more than three decades after he first climbed on a BMX bike, he not only still goes damn steep, but also has a lot Fun, no matter how good or junk the spot may be. Ladies and gentlemen, throw your hands together for the one and only TIMM WIEGMANN!” – Freedom BMX

Flo Ehrl In The Streets of Munich

March 7, 2019

The crew at Freedom BMX coming through with a fresh batch of clips featuring Flo Ehrl going to work on street spots in Munich! Flo isn’t scared to put his pegs to work or send it down a set of stairs, making for a real solid video! Take a look!

“Not so long ago, Munich was still relatively undeveloped. This has since changed, because a new generation of young street drivers is busy exploring the streets of the Bavarian capital. Flo Ehrl is one of those guys who is not without good reason supported by the 360 degree sports shop and Stylemystuff®. Flo is not only a nice guy, but also has a lot of wheel control, which has earned him the nickname Railridegott in the internal editorial – not to mention his cojones. Here’s a glimpse of interesting clips that he staked last summer in Minga, Dachau and Landshut. Flo goes off, so check it out, Oida!

Cancelled Crew – What Now? Johannes Winkelmann

February 7, 2019

The Cancelled Crew over in Germany have been releasing sections from their “What Now?” video series, and it looks like this one is wrapping up with a real solid section from Johannes Winkelmann that’s filled with grinds for your viewing pleasure. Take a look!

“Ending it with a bang! The guys of the Canceled Crew complete their “What Now?” Video series with the part of Johannes Winkelmann – and he has it, as befits a real final boss, in itself. Which is not surprising, because after all, the high-drop luminary feels really comfortable on mighty staircase sets and lifelong house roofing abysses. Not to mention his penchant for sketchy handrails, which he prefers backward attacking. In short: Here is a lot of the finest action offered. What Now?

Ghetto Games 2018 – BMX Street Highlights

July 31, 2018

Check out what went down during the Street contest at this years Ghetto Games!

The annual Ghetto Games contest went off this past weekend over in Latvia and there was no shortage of amazing riding and good times going down. Above is a video Freedom BMX put together giving us a look at all the action that went down in the BMX Street contest. Check it!

“The street contest at the Ghetto Games was held on a street next to Ventspils concrete park. For the fact that the whole thing had an undeniable village character character, not many spectators were present and the course consisted of transportable obstacles, the starting field was surprisingly well staffed. Among others, Felix Prangenberg, Eddie Baum and Bruno Hoffmann were at the start, but unfortunately the latter preferred not to ride because of injury. In addition to heaps of really good locals were also the Russian Edeltechniker Igor Bespaliy, Reed Stark from the United States and the Argentine Mati Lasgoity come to Latvia, so it was quite international. Here’s our video with highlights from one of the hottest afternoons ever in the Baltics to the sounds of that song that was definitely the most played during the weekend. Now you have to go through …
