Man… This is a bummer. Odyssey have had to release Hoang Tran along with Matthias Dandois that was announced the other day for 2014. I’m sure both of these guys will have no trouble finding a new home, but still a bummer. Check out the official word from team manager, Walter Pieringer below.
“Letting a team rider go is never a decision that anybody wants to make, especially when they are great riders and friends. Over the years, our pro team had grown to the point where it was hard to pay enough attention to all of our riders. So, for 2014, we slimmed it down a bit. Hoang Tran and Matthias Dandois are both amazing bike riders and incredible people; there is no question about that. But in order to give the rest of our guys the full support they deserve, we had to make the toughest call and let them go. There’s only time for so many trips in a year, and with so many people on our team, getting everybody out on the road and in front of a camera as much as they should be just wasn’t possible. It really sucks losing Hoang and Matthias; we don’t have one bad thing to say about either of them, and we wish them nothing but the best.” – Walter Pieringer
