Monster Energy Hits Cape Town

The Monster Energy BMX team spent some time in Cape Town!

A little while back the Monster Energy team took a trip down to South Africa for the Ultimate X contest. While they were there, they hit up some parks and trails, along with the contest. Here’s a look at what they got into during their trip! As expected, plenty of wild riding to see from the crew!

“Nothing like a Cape Escape to beat the harsh winter in the northern hemisphere. The Monster BMX team head out to Cape Town, South Africa to kick off the 2023 contest season at Ultimate X.

Straight off the plane, the crew wasted no time brushing off the jet lag to soak up the sun, sights, and spots on offer. From laying down heavy lines at the newly built City Bowl Park bowl, to dreamy dirt laps at the picturesque Hellsend Dirt Compound, wrapping it all up with big sends and a full podium sweep at Ultimate X.

Dream Session At Hellsend Dirt Compound

Check out a heavy session at the Hellsend Dirt Compound!

Here’s an awesome video Freedom BMX put together from a session at the Hellsend Dirt Compound in South Africa where a bunch of heavy hitters rolled in for a proper session. Check out what went down with riding from Kevin Peraza, Boyd Hilder and more! This place looks like a ton of fun to ride!

“Before the “Ultimate X” contest in Kapstand started, @MonsterEnergy invited to a relaxed session on the trails of the legendary Hellsend Dirt Compound. You already know that is the bike park where, among other things, the Darkfest takes place.

After the BMXers had examined the huge mountain bike lines (uff!), it was off to the dirt jumps, where an official session developed in the South African evening sun in front of an epic backdrop, with Kevin Peraza, Anthony Jeanjean, Mike Varga, Tom van that Boggard and Boyd Hilder massaged the hills. Incidentally, the latter was on a borrowed bike that was completely different from his personal set-up, which the airline he had traveled with had unfortunately wasted away somewhere.

After the session, Monster donated a big barbecue and hectoliters of cold drinks on site. Thanks a lot for this! We can only agree with the French Quinton Morlen, who said on the way back to the hotel: “This was one of the best days of my life!”

Mongoose – Appalachian Adventures

Mongoose loaded up the crew for a trip to the Appalachians!

This past summer the Mongoose crew loaded up for a trip to cruise a bunch of parks around the Appalachian Mountains. Check out this edit giving us a look at what the crew got into during the trip, along with commentary and more! This looks like it was a real good time!

But what you may not have expected are the incredible concrete gems hidden away in the mountains. Mongoose Dirtvana Jam at The Riveter

This past summer the Mongoose team rolled out to The Riveter in North Carolina to throw their Dirtvana jam! Here’s a look at what went down during the jam with a full day of riding and good times from the Pro’s to the locals and young guns. This place looks like soooo much fun to ride! Check it!

“The Mongoose Dirtvana Jam was a one-of-a-kind event hosted by The Riveter in Mills River, NC. It was an action-packed day of dirt riding and good times, which embodies what BMX is all about! Mongoose pros Kevin Peraza, Nikita Ducarroz, Ben Wallace, Pat Casey, Mykel Larrin, Josh Hult, Payton Ridenour and Mason Hayes were all in the house to meet and ride with amateurs and celebrate the sport they love. Kevin Peraza – NORA Cup Transition Rider of the Year

Kevin Peraza takes the transition rider of the year award!

It was probably not a big shocker that Kevin Peraza won the NORA Cup 2022 Transition Rider of the Year after crushing it all year long. Here’s a video celebrating the win with a ton of dialed riding, words from a bunch of pros and a look at Kevin accepting the award a few weeks back!
