Oh man… Here’s another classic. Check out Matt Beringer giving you the proper tour of his house back in 2007 for Little Devil. It’s hard to believe Matt has sold this house and is moving on…

The year is 2013. Now that Matt is in the process of moving out and selling his house, I thought this would be a perfect time to look back at the incredible spot he created with so much blood, sweat, and love for bmx. The spot he created at his home in Utah inspired an entire generation of bmxers who grew up wishing they could ride Matt’s yard. I’m sure everyone has dreamed they could live Beringer’s life, if for only a week. I was lucky enough to stay and ride there a handful of times, and those memories are burned into my brain like they were yesterday. One thing that I have noticed in life is that it’s much more enjoyable if you take risks, actively pursue your dreams, and constantly strive to better yourself. With that being said, I have recently had the urge to tell a specific story about a photo that I shot last October in Utah and feel like it’s the perfect time to do just that. As always, I try to keep the reader’s of this column interested and on their toes as far as what to expect week after week. I have an entire archive of photos that I could sit and write stories about but not every one stands out amongst the pack the way that this one does. It’s got a unique tale to tell and an ending that is incredibly bitter sweet that might catch many of you off guard. It serves as a constant reminder to take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way and to always expect the unexpected.

Mike Meister has been spending some time bouncing back and forth between Colorado and Utah getting some sessions in. This video gives you a look at a pool he rode along with a bunch of footage from Matt Beringer’s yard. I’d suggest you check this out since there won’t be much footage surfacing from the Beringer compound anymore.

The End of an Era: Matt Beringer’s House and Backyard

For the past twelve years there has been a BMX backyard of epic proportions located in Layton, Utah. Sure, it didn’t start out as one of the most historic backyards ever built but over the course of time, and thanks to the support of the home-owner it has surely built up a reputation all its own. The owner is none-other than S&M Bikes pro and legend Matt Beringer. Matt is a character that is actually just as unique as his backyard and that is part of the reason why his yard has become a go-to destination for BMX riders from all over the world. Needless to say, it’s been twelve years of good times and it’s all coming to a close as Matt needs to make some decisions on whether or not to try and keep the house. He is at the point where it’s getting to be more stress than it’s worth for him to keep up on without any support so he posted on his Facebook about putting the house up for sale soon. But first, he wanted to let everyone know that it is up for grabs shred-ready and as-is for $200,000. For any companies looking to invest in an amazing team house this is the opportunity of a lifetime. Located a half an hour out of Salt Lake City, Utah with neighbors that already know the deal and a yard that is ride-able as we speak it would be amazing to see a company step in and take it over. I caught up with Matt to break things down, fill everyone in on the exact details and let him speak his mind on the subject.
