Matt Ray strapped the GoPro on for a session at Rye Airfield…

Here’s a raw cut Matt Ray put together from a session he caught at Rye Airfield. This is all chest mount footage, so it gives you a decent look at his perspective as he’s cruising the park airing the quarters, doing flairs, doing a few lip tricks and more.

“Went to Rye for a quick hour session with my GoPro 5 on my chest mount for a bit. I was going to edit this a bit more but decided this is enough. Enjoy!”

Subrosa’s old filmer, Bobby Kanode, decided to release a video that might not have ever seen the light of day…

Anyone who has taken filming BMX serious has always dreamed of being paid to film for a brand or a video project. Bobby Kanode spent 3 years as the team filmer for Subrosa, which meant he spent his days traveling all over the place with the team filming for web videos, full-length videos and more. During his time he stacked a lot of clips, some were used, others weren’t and were just sitting on his hard drive waiting to be seen. The time has finally come, because Bobby has gone through and edited the clips into this full-length video that’s loaded with pure gold featuring their team riders, past and present, during that time frame. When Subrosa first started out, they did a lot of their projects in black and white, so that’s where the title comes from. Get the full story from Bobby below!

“From 2013 to 2016 I had the opportunity of a lifetime to be the filmer for Subrosa Brand. When it was all over I was left with a hard drive full of good times, and last year I chopped this video up to “clean out my closet.” I can’t say enough good things about all the boys, and I had the time of my life. This is kind of the DVD that never happened. Big thank you to Ronnie Bonner and Ryan Sher for having me for those years, and bigger shout out to the best team in BMX.

We’ve got a lot of recycled clips in here but they’re in color now, as well as brand new (yet still old) never seen section from Johnny (no longer on Subrosa) and a stacked friends section. Pretty hyped!

Bobby Kandoe uploaded a Matt Ray video that didn’t make it to the final cut…

It’s always crazy to think about some of the videos that never end up seeing the light of day. Bobby Kanode had put this draft sample video together for Matt Ray‘s welcome to the Subrosa Brand Pro team video that came out a while back, but after another trip or two that added in more clips, the whole video ended up getting a re-edit before release. What’s crazy is that this video is an absolute banger and would have done just fine, but everyone decided to step it up a few more notches, which is also rad. Either way, Bobby decided to upload this version to his personal Youtube since it was too good to just dump in the trash and erase, and we’re glad he did it. Hit play and enjoy.

Subrosa just dropped this new video featuring Matt Ray going to work during some private riding time he got in at Rye Airfield with a few friends. Matt is the kind of rider that can absolutely slay rails and ledges, but he also has a deep bag of tricks when it comes to blasting quarterpipes, box jumps and more.
