Isaac Lesser – Build It

January 13, 2016

On it’s own, ROM Skatepark might be a little bit dated, but if you mix in different ramps all over the place… You have one hell of a spot with endless opportunities. Watch as Isaac Lesser shows us how he gets down on his home turf with the help of a few power tools and wood. Excellent riding in this!

“Isaac Lesser has been riding ROM Skatepark for almost 15 years. Being the oldest skatepark in the UK, the classic, concrete haven boasts endless lines and haunting transitions.
However Isaac decided it was time to think outside the box, and with the addition of a few wooden extras, was able to open up gaps, lines and transfers that nobody would’ve thought possible.

If Money Were No Object, Would You Get Out And Ride?

July 31, 2015

Mike King put together an interesting video that asks a question that I’d be willing to bet a lot of you haven’t actually considered despite it being a pretty fair question…

“What would you do if money were no object? What would you do with your life, how would you spend your time, what would you you get up to? Would you be out on your bike at every opportunity?”

The video above features Bob Manchester and Ollie Shields who both have had videos showing us what they do for a living outside of BMX recently, which Mike produced. But it kind of goes to show that these two guys are working to support their habit of BMX.

I’d be willing to bet a lot of you, if you’re older working full-time, have a family or any of the countless adult responsibilities that keep you off your bike, would find more time to ride if you did have the money to keep you from working all the time.

… Man, how good would that be? A life of riding without having to work? We’re not talking being a pro rider because that is actually a lot of work with a lot of responsibilities and obligations. We’re just talking you have enough money to ride and do whatever you want without obligations… Talk about living the dream. It seems almost hard to explain because it’s such an unrealistic thought….

Let’s talk about this… Leave some thoughts in the comments!

Work In Progress: Bob Manchester at the Skatepark of Malaga

June 8, 2015

For this episode of Mike King’s “Work In Progress” series, he follows Bob Manchester around at his job doing construction before heading off to Malaga, Spain to ride Ruben Alcantara’s skatepark with some of the Villa Road crew! This has a ton of amazing riding from Bob, along with some clips of Matt Priest and Liam Eltham for good measure. After you check out this video, check out more in the Villa Road Trip to Malaga Video which was filmed at the same time as this. This is a MUST SEE BMX video for sure.

“Despite being a ‘pro rider’ Bob Manchester spends 8 hours a day getting his hands dirty with hard graft on building sites. But there’s a reason he does this job – he can walk away every day at 5:30, super amped to ride, no less. He proves it in this video with a weekend jaunt to Málaga where he rides the incredible park designed by Rubén Alcántara. The combination of such a perfect setup and Bob’s formidable skills is nothing short of sublime.” – Epic TV

Work In Progress – 70 Hour Work Week with Ollie Shields

May 22, 2015

It’s always pretty interesting to find out what some of your favorite riders are up to when they aren’t riding. We had no idea that Ollie Shields spends most of his days working construction. We also had no idea that he only really gets a good session in about once a week! Check out this video giving us a little insight into what he does for work followed up by some damn good riding from that one session Ollie does get in with a few of the locals every week. Highly suggest you check this BMX video out! This is what dedication and love looks like. Hell yeah, Ollie!

“Think your job is hard? Try being a pro bmxer. Far from the video parts and the glory-filled competitions a lot of pro riders make incredible sacrifices in order to do what they love. Take Ollie Shields – despite having a huge 2014 he still works as a builder doing 70 hour weeks. This demanding schedule leaves him one day a week to ride. Luckily he knows how to make the most of it with a big weekly session at Revolution Bike Park. Check out Ollie’s incredible dedication to the life and the sport that he loves and ask yourself this: Are you this committed to anything you do? This series is proudly supported by Seventies Distribution, Cult Bikes and Vans.”

Work In Progress – Bob Manchester

May 16, 2015

Mike King just sent through the first episode of the Work In Progress series he’s working on with Bob Manchester. This first episode gives us a look at his trails that are getting a little face lift after some neglect and a good session at Adrenaline Alley with Isaac Lesser! Definitely a solid BMX video worth taking a look at!

“Supercars? Face tattoos? Luxury apartments? Champagne? You won’t find them here – this is about the slightly less glorified side of the BMX dream. Ride along with Hoffman, Crucial BMX Shop and Stay Strong’s steezy wildcat Bob Manchester as he prepares his backyard jumps for another big contest in the summer after months of neglect and a harsh winter. Bob analyses the daunting work that is to be done in order to see the place that gave his riding the biggest boost, come back to life for another Jam. But it’s not all swinging shovels, with Corby’s Adrenaline Alley only an hour away, we thought we’d see how he survives without the jumps. This series is proudly supported by Hoffman Bikes, Crucial BMX and Stay Strong Clothing.” – Epic TV

Alone and Heading South – Part 1

May 1, 2015

The Alone BMX crew recently loaded up to take a trip to a few of the U.K’s finest skateparks. They had Mike King tag along and film and today we’re getting a look at part 1 that’s packed full of great riding and some good vibes. These guys definitely don’t take things too seriously and that’s the way we like it. Hit play on this BMX video!

“This is what BMX is all about, hopping in the van with no plans other than to eventually reach a destination and ride every spot you pass. Ride shotgun with Zeal Distribution’s in-house brand ‘Alone’, as the crew head south from Stourbridge to Newquay. Along the way they are keeping the skateparks alive with both the bangers and beers flowing all day, and keeping cosy at night in a (not so watertight) trailer…”
