Mutiny Bikes – Dylan Lewis Welcome to the Pro Team Video

We’re so pumped on this. Mutiny Bikes have given their Australian connect, Dylan Lewis the very well deserved bump up to the Pro team! Above is his official welcome video that’s packed full of some seriously phenomenal riding to make the announcement. We’re not quite sure how the hell Dylan goes so big, but we love it. We’re currently working with Dylan on a bike check, so keep an eye out for that soon, too.

The Art of the BMX Sprocket

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these “The Art Of” pieces, so we figured it would be a good time to take a closer look at one part in particular that we’ve been thinking about lately, the BMX Sprocket. The other day we were bouncing around to a few different brands websites to see if there were any new products or anything else new to see, and we ended up staring at the sprockets. When you think about it, the sprocket is one of those things that can really be altered the most as far as aesthetics go. We’ve seen A LOT of sprockets in BMX’s history, so we decided to stick to sprockets that are currently available. Even with cutting it back to that, there’s still a ton of options available. Add in the different combos between the standard bolt drive, Spline drive, and socket drive, colors, versions with guards, etc. There’s a lot to take in. We bounced around and picked out some of our favorites from a number of brands, which you can check out below with a few words about each! Ready?

Empire BMX – Devin Fredlund Mutiny Bikes Build

It looks like Mutiny Bikes have a new addition to their line up down in Austin, Texas! Empire BMX dropped this new video giving you a look at the new Mutiny Comb setup that Devin Fredlund is now running, because he’s been added to the team! Get a few words from Mutiny Bikes owner, Gaz Sanders, on just why they picked him up and a few words from Devin. There’s also a couple riding clips mixed throughout as well. Expect to see more of this guy in the near future!

On the hunt for a new BMX Frame? Are you looking for something ideal for the trails, but can handle the streets, ramps and whatever else you can throw at it? The Tom “Robbo” Robinson signature Villij frame from Mutiny Bikes might just be what you’re looking for. This frame is made from 4130 Sanko chromoly tubing with a 74-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 8.6″ standover height and a 13.6″ (Slammed) chainstay length. You can find a a heat-treated integrated head tube, gusset on the down tube, tapered top and seat tubes, an Investment Cast seat post clamp, heat-treated MID bottom bracket, welded on chainstay brake mounts and guides, tapered seat stays and heat-treated 14mm dropouts.

The Villij frame is available in translucent black and camouflage with top tube lengths of 20.75″, 21″ and 21.25″ and a weight of 4.9 lbs. (20.75) through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Mutiny Bikes worldwide.

Product: Mutiny Bikes – Lifted XL Stem

Is it time for a new BMX Stem? Are you looking for something to raise your bars up a little higher? Get a closer look at the Mutiny Bikes Lifted XL stem. This stem is CNC machined from 6061 aluminum alloy with two sizes available; 48mm and 53mm. Both sizes of the Lifted XL stem comes with a 33mm stack height and 33mm (1mm inverted) rise with internal and external machining for additional weight savings and a clean look, a rounded back to be more knee friendly, a recessed top for a flush fork compression cap, 6 solid chromoly bolts to keep it all tight and then a few logos on the top plate and sides to finish it off. This stem weighs in at 12.2 oz. (48mm) and 13 oz (53mm).

The Lifted XL stem is available in colors of rubbed oil, black and camouflage through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Mutiny Bikes worldwide for around $59.99 – $69.99 dependent on color.

Let’s take a look at one of Mutiny Bikes 2016 frames. One item in particular that really caught our eye is the Grant Castelluzzo signature Obscura V2 frame in this flashy “Flat Ti” colorway. The frame is made from 100% 4130 Sanko chromoly tubing with a 75-degree head tube angle, 70-degree seat tube angle, 8.95″ stand over height, 11.8″ bottom bracket height and a 12.75″ (slammed) chainstay length. You can find a heat-treated offset thickness head tube, gussets on the top and down tubes, straight gauge top and down tubes, a tapered top tube, an elliptical down tube, heat-treated Mid bottom bracket, tapered seat stays, elipitical chain stays, S-Bench chain stays for 2.40″ tire clearance, radius stay caps with a Mutiny Bikes logo for improved peg clearance, integrated Investment Cast seat post clamp, 5mm thick heat-treated drop outs and NO brake mounts.

The 2016 Obscura V2 frame is available in top tube lengths of 20.2″, 20.5″, 20.8″ and 21.1″ with a weight of 5 lbs. (20.6″). This frame is available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Mutiny Bikes worldwide now.
