X Games 2017 – Womens BMX Session

July 18, 2017

The ladies took the park course to show everyone they deserve a shot at X Games gold…

It’s been a long road for the girls that ride BMX and they’ve been putting in the work to get the recognition and respect they deserve. With each year, there are more girls riding BMX around the world and they’re constantly progressing.
For X Games 2017, a group of girls lead by Nina Buitrago were able to get out on the park course for their own demo session to show everyone just what they got. These girls travelled from all over the world on their own dime to prove to everyone they are willing to do what it takes to show everyone they want this. The goal of the event was to show they deserve to have their own class in the X Games next year, and there’s no denying that they’ve worked hard to earn a spot. Here’s a raw cut of footage featuring Nina, Hannah Roberts, Angie Marino, Perris Benegas, Nikita Ducarroz, Minato Oike, Ellie Chew, Elizaveta Posadskikh, Nikki Wetzel, Jesse Gregory and Tere Williams getting in on the fun.

Expect to see plenty more from these ladies in the future! They’re all kicking ass.

X Games 2016 – Girls Session

June 15, 2016

Although the girls didn’t get the air time like other events at the X Games, it’s not because they weren’t there throwing down. Here’s a video giving you a look at what went down in the Girls Session that went down with some of BMX’s finest ladies out on the course. Plenty of real solid riding to take in here!

“A squad of BMX ladies had a session on the X Games Park course early one morning this year. Despite almost getting rained out every morning they tried to ride, their 9am session was a fun and laid back one—and the earliest both Ryan Fudger and myself had ever been to an X Games. While I’ve known Nina Buitrago since she pretty much started riding, and I’ve had a few sessions with Dani Lightningbolt, it was cool to finally see the likes of Angie Marino, Nikita Ducarroz, Perris Benegas, Minato Oike, Ellie Chew, and Hannah Roberts all ride in person for the first time after watching them in videos. Will we be seeing a girl’s class in an actual X Games soon? Only time will tell, but from the looks of these girls on the course after less than two hours riding it, the future is foretelling…

Quick Clips – Nikita Ducarroz in San Diego

March 28, 2016

Here’s a fresh BMX video from Nikita Ducarroz who has been busy putting in work at a bunch of skateparks, a couple street spots, ditches and even some trails and Tony Hawk’s vert ramp as of late. Nikita has been progressing a bunch and it looks like she has barspins and tailwhips locked up these days. Take a look!

“A few clips from my time in San Diego!

Thanks to everyone who took at a turn with the GoPro:
Mykel Larrin, Simon Tabron, Zack Warden, Sarah Aymin, Bringer Brothers, Katie Aymin, Rob Irwin, Jadin Covert and Jacob Bailey.

Thanks to G-Form, Joby, CTi Knee Braces, Alienation, Haro, Vans, and VSI Products for keeping me rolling!”

Nikita Ducarroz – Spring 2013 Edit

May 4, 2013

Always good to see some fresh footage from Nikita Ducarroz. She’s been on it for a while now and every edit from her she improves a ton. This new one is no different. Stoked on that.

“To all the guys who think women belong in the kitchen, I am in the kitchen. Mine just looks different than yours.

My name is Nikita, I’m 16, and I live in NorCal! I’ve been working on this edit for a couple months just picking up clips when I could. I didn’t get to travel as much as I would of liked to gather clips, or film everything I wanted to, but I’d say overall I’m pretty stoked on how it all turned out even without using a professional filmer. I hope it portrays somewhat how much of a fun time I have on my bike, how it puts that smile on my face that can’t be wiped off.

I would like to thank my parents for being so amazing and supporting my journey in BMX, as well as Alienation BMX and Zorg Bike Co for keeping my bike fresh, G-Form, Fight Dentist and Novik Gloves for keeping me protected, and Ramp Rats Indoor Park for giving me a place to ride and progress. I would also like to thank everyone in my BMX family, I love you all!“

Nikita Ducarroz August Edit

November 26, 2012

Not sure how I missed this new one from Nikita Ducarroz until now, but it’s real good. She’s definitely been progressing a ton and it looks like she’s got barspins on lock now. Real good to see this.

“Nikita Ducarroz. The girl who can backflip a bike and ride better than most guys her age. Filming with her was a great experience, and there is no doubt she’ll have another edit out soon. She just keeps getting better…. oh and did we mention she owns her own clothing company? Check out FDV Clothing . It’s legit.

Big shoutout to her sponsors Novik Gloves, Miveu, G-Form, Zorg Bike Co., Ramp Rats, and Alienation. Also, thanks to Paul Heran and Josh Lopez for the footage at Woodward Tahoe and the Battle of the Bay Competition.”

Nikita Ducarroz: How BMX Changed My Life

February 7, 2012

This is pretty rad. Nikita Ducarroz found BMX and has been doing some real cool things with it like starting her own clothing brand. It’s cool to see more girls getting into it these days.

“For my English class, we had to write a speech, record yourself saying it, and send it in. I decided to make it a little more interesting, and make a little video instead. Here is my project. Hope you like it.

It is a story about my anxiety, and how BMX has helped me to overcome it. ”
