Battle of Hastings 2020 – Date & Team Captains Announced

July 1, 2020

Source BMX have announced that the 2020 Battle of Hastings will be going down September 4th – 6th! This year, due to COVID, it sounds like the event will be different from the past few years with it being a closed event that will be streamed online for everyone to enjoy, keeping the riders safe and reducing the risk of spreading things. This may be tricky since the hyped up crowd undoubtedly helped the riders in the past, but it’s the right move.

Source BMX have also announced the team captains for the contest! Sergio Layos, Tom Justice, Courage Adams, Simone Barraco, Alex Kennedy, Ben Wallace, Stuart Chisholm and Kilian Roth! Each rider will be picking other riders for their team, so expect to get those announcements soon!

Either way, we’re super stoked to see they found a way to make this one happen!

“Battle Of Hastings returns to The Source Park this September 4th-6th

After what has been a year of BMX contests and more being cancelled, we are beyond stoked to announce that #BOHBMX will return seeing some of the worlds best compete behind closed doors for a live stream focussed event!

Here are your captains and stay tuned for regular updates at SOURCEBMX.COM/BOH”

Flybikes – Unexpected Indoor Session

November 1, 2019

This past summer most of the Flybikes team got together at their warehouse in Spain to spend some time cruising the local parks and getting some work done designing new products for the future. They caught a few days of sunshine, then the rain hit and they decided to convert the warehouse into their own indoor park! This video is a mix of footage from the nice days and the rainy days, and despite not the best weather, this video turned out real good!

Also, it’s cool to see the Coastin ramp get put to good use again! Check out How-To Build the Coastin’ Ramp if you’re interested!

“This past August after most of the team spent the weekend at the annual O Marisquiño contest in Vigo, Spain, we decided to have the team at our warehouse to spend some time working on new products and to have some fun on our bikes at some of the amazing local parks! We had a few good days of sunshine, then the rain started and we unexpectedly had to get creative to keep the fun going. We turned our warehouse into a spot to ride with ramps and ledges to ride! Here’s what Sergio Layos, Courage Adams, Teresa Azcoaga, Ruben Alcantara, Sem Kok and Pitu got into during the visit! Unfortunately Devon Smillie and Larry Edgar weren’t able to be here with us due to scheduling!

Despite a little rain, we still managed to have a great time! Enjoy!

Sergio Layos Riding The New Skatehalle Innsbruck

October 28, 2019

Sergio Layos recently took a trip to Innsbruck, Austria to check out the new park that was rebuilt by a company called Schneestern. Here’s a video where he gets a little tour of the Schneestern facility, then Sergio and Gregor Podlesny make their way to the park where they absolutely shred the place! As always, Sergio brings a ton of style and finds a ton of lines that took him all over the park. This is a real good watch, so hit play and enjoy!

“After almost 9 years the Skatehalle Innsbruck, in Austria, got a “facelifting” by Schneestern, who also built many other Parks all over Europe and have also designed the Bowl in Waiblingen, that hosted 2019’s Vans Pro Cup.
Right after the indoor park was finished, Schneestern’s lifetime BMXer Gregor Podlesny took Sergio on a tour through the new setup on a night/morning session. And who’s better to test a new park, especially if theres a concrete bowl involved, than the style legend himself?
