X Games Real BMX 2020 – Trailer

There’s been a lot of events cancelled in 2020, but the X Games Real BMX video contest didn’t get shut down! Here’s the trailer for the videos that are set to drop August 17th! This year, like all the past years, is absolutely STACKED and it’s looking like these guys went all out to produce some heavy videos. We’re especially excited to see Julian Molina‘s video since he’s been killing it with one leg for years and never disappoints with his videos. Either way, this is going to be a super good mix of riding from each of these guys. So get stoked.

World of X Games – Ryan Nyquist “I’m Afraid of Heights”

The latest interview for the World of X Games interview sits down with Ryan Nyquist for just shy of an hour conversation where Ryan talks about a ton of different topics while sweating it out in him and his wifes hot yoga / cycling studio. Ryan is always super entertaining and has a ton of great stories, making for a super good listen with plenty of laughs. If you got the time, definitely get on the play button.

“With the exception of a few vert riders, most of the mid-school BMX professionals from the 1990s and early 2000s have moved on from X Games competition. Not Ryan Nyquist though. Ryan started competing at X Games in 1997 and still gets invited. He’s not getting invites based on legacy either; he’s still progressing his skills on BMX Dirt and Park at a remarkable pace. Despite the everyday demands of family life at age 41, Nyquist manages to make riding a daily priority, and he’s expanded his skills to incorporate some of the world’s toughest lip trick combinations into his riding. World of X Games – Being: Pat Casey

This is rad. The X Games dropped this new Being feature giving us a little insight into Pat Casey‘s life from how he got into BMX on to where he is today as a top pro with one of the craziest backyards, while also crushing it as a dad. The X Games keeping their World of X Games series going strong. This time around they caught up with Cory Nastazio to talk about what he’s been doing in quarantine, his riding and how he has been staying constant since the 90’s and still keeping going strong these days and more. 25 Years of X Games – Top BMX Moments

We’re not sure how you can pack 25 years of amazing riding into 12 minutes, but the X Games have compiled some of their top BMX moments into this video for your viewing pleasure! Most of these are mega ramp and vert clips, so we’re not sure if there’s another one coming for park, dirt or flatland. Either way, these were definitely some heavy moments over the years.

Chris Doyle – Remembering X

The X Games coming through with another rad video. This time around they had Chris Doyle sit down to talk about how he started riding in the X Games, his long career and plenty of podiums along the way. Chris always delivers, so hit play and take this all in!

“Before taking on the role of BMX analyst at X Games, Chris Doyle was a go-to name for invites in BMX Dirt at X. From the early days of San Diego all the way up to X Games Austin, Doyle managed impressive finishes all the way up through 2015, when he took the bronze medal in Austin. Jay Miron: The Next Chapter – World of X Games

The X Games coming through with an awesome new video where they catch up with Jay Miron to get his story of what he’s been up to since he retired from BMX. This covers his start to the peak of his career, to a look at his new career as a furniture builder! This has a TON of great riding footage, and it’s pretty amazing to see the work he’s doing these days! So stoked on this.

“In 1995, Canadian BMX rider Jay Miron won the first X Games gold medal in BMX, for BMX Dirt. He beat out the top dirt riders of the time, in a class he typically didn’t enter at competitions.

How? He’s Jay Miron, one of the best all-around BMX bike riders in the world, still to this day. He never took one discipline and ran with it. He did it all.

Miron first arrived on the international BMX scene from Thunder Bay, Ontario in the late 1980s, riding BMX Vert at the 2-Hip King of Vert competitions. Quickly, he emerged as a progressive, unstoppable and innovative bike rider on all terrains, from flatland to vert to park to dirt. As the 1990s approached, Miron joined up with GT Bicycles and then Hoffman Bikes, moving to the U.S. and competing in a very small but prestigious pro class that included riders such as Mat Hoffman and Dave Mirra.

By the time the X Games arrived, Miron was broadening his horizons and picked up a new sponsorship from an established bike company re-entering BMX. Schwinn Bicycles took his input on their BMX line and allowed him to travel the world without worrying about sleeping on the floor. Instead of taking the check and cashing out, Miron doubled down on the Canadian BMX scene that birthed him. He started his own distribution company to import brands to Canada. He started a Canadian BMX magazine to spotlight riders in Canada. And he eventually started his own BMX company to do things his own way.

Along the way, Miron’s riding continued to evolve in ways no one thought possible. He released groundbreaking video parts, toured the world and employed some of the most progressive riders of the era on his MacNeil bikes team.

Then, in 2009, Jay Miron retired from his BMX companies and BMX riding. He had discovered a new passion and much like BMX before it, he put everything he had into that pursuit. This is the story of Jay Miron.” – X Games

World of X Games – Best of Scotty Cranmer

Here’s a bit of a throwback that the X Games crew cooked up filled with highlights from Scotty Cranmer over the years of his domination at the contests. This is pretty cool to look back on since it goes way back to 2003 (How has it been 17 years already?) where he accumulated 9 medals in 14 appearances. This video doesn’t even show many of the years, but this highlight reel is awesome.

This will be a walk down memory lane for some of you, and maybe a lot of this is footage you have never seen because you just started getting into BMX and you have been watching Scotty’s Youtube channel after his crash. Which means this is probably going to be really cool to see since it really shows just how good he has always been on a BMX bike.

Hit play and take it all in! Definitely a lot of memories just seeing the names in the standings and everything, and it’s interesting seeing how much the courses have changed over the years!

“Starting in 2003, New Jersey BMX prodigy Scotty Cranmer started competing in X Games BMX Park competitions. And through the years, he amassed 14 X Games competition appearances, including three bronze medals, three silver medals and three gold medals.

Scotty’s riding signaled a sea change in BMX Park riding at X Games. Before he took gold in 2006, only three other riders had ever won gold in BMX Park. Then came Scotty leading a new wave of riders that did serious battle for over a decade. It was always edge-of-your-seat competition when Scotty took to the course. From turndown frontflips to ninja walk drops over unique taco configurations on the course, Scotty did it all, with a smile on his face (after he was done competing of course…)
