The latest Dude Bird has arrived! Although number 30 is pretty tame in comparison to all the crazy stuff we normally see in these BMX videos, there’s still some non-riding antics that will leave you questioning what the hell you’re watching. On the flip side, there’s some real good riding from Joe “Butcher” Kowalski, Brett Rohlfing, Jimmy Oakes, Rick Moliterno, Zack Gerber, Jordan Pope and more for you to see!
Behind The Scenes of “Hard Times” – Part One
Ryan Howard has decided to start uploading behind the scenes footage he collected while filming for The Daily Grind‘s “Hard Times” video! This first one gives us a little look at a trip to Detroit that Zack Gerber took to Detroit to film for the video. This starts out pretty laid back, but then we get a look at an insane double peg to front flip on an up rail that Zack had a hell of a battle with. Check it!

“This is the first in a series of behind the scenes videos from the making of hardtimes. After each filming trip I would compile all the raw footage into a timeline to keep the team motivated and you show everyone their footage.
This is a trip to Detroit that zack and myself took in May of 2014. The things zack pulls are wild but the ideas that don’t quite come true are even more insane. Shout out to fiend forks for exploding.”
Working Class BMX – Troy Merkle
This is pretty rad. Zack Gerber dropped this new BMX video featuring Troy Merkle giving us a little insight into what he does when he’s not riding, along with a bunch of rad riding clips! Hit play and check it out!
“What’s there to say about Troy Merkle? Troy has been a name in the midwest BMX scene for as long as I can remember. Troy has a style all of his own with technical street riding with a touch of flatland style. Troy isn’t afraid of a gnarly setup up either. Here we examine Troy’s introduction to BMX, and his day job. All parts of a modern day, professional level, BMX enthusiast. Troy’s pure love for BMX is captures, and his mellow, positive attitude speaks for itself. The entire interview process was done without Troy’s knowledge. What you have here are his truest, most honest words about life and the love of BMX. Troys rules. Enjoy.
Working Class BMX’s first candid, mini interview. More to come.” – Zack Gerber
Zack Gerber Bike Check
If you keep up with all the product posts we do on the site, there’s a good chance you got a look at Zack Gerber‘s new signature Transplant frame from Standard that just dropped. If there’s one dude who has been crushing it for a long time and deserved a signature frame, it’s Zack. We were stoked on the news so we figured there would be no better time than now for a fresh Bike Check. So, let’s take a look at this fresh Standard setup decked out with The Daily Grind and BSD parts, then we’ll find out what else is new with Zack! Ready? Let’s do this!
Name: Zack Gerber
Product: Standard Bykes – Zack Gerber Signature Transplant Frame
It’s about damn time Zack Gerber got himself a signature frame! The guys at Standard Bykes have just released Zack’s “Transplant” frame. Check out the promo above, then get full specs and details below after the jump!
“Zack has been testing and developing his frame for over the past year. Finally happy with every detail, he has released his signature “Transplant” frame to the market. Named after his many travels and gypsy lifestyle. Zack’s frame embodies the iconic strength of Standard Bykes with the purity in simplicity of a modern ‘street’ BMX frame designed to handle Zack’s high speed, technical, and potentially dangerous riding style.”
Zack Gerber Front Flipped an 8″ Kicker
We have seen Zack Gerber front flip a lot of stuff in his days. There was the time he front flips from two roofs and the time he front flipped off an up rail, but it’s safe to say this is another noteable one from him. During the Looking For Spots DVD premiere at 5050 Skatepark, Zack launched one off this 8″ tall kicker like it was nothing. Talk about pure madness.
Below is a second angle that’s clearer.
The Daily Grind – Cincinnati Street Jam
When The Daily Grind throw a street jam, you know there’s going to be some wild riding, Zack Gerber yelling hilarious stuff on the megaphone, probably a few cops and more wild riding.
The crew recently rolled through Cincinnati, Ohio and threw a big street jam with Troy Merkle, Zack Gerber, Vince Smith, Jason Govan, Scott Steele, Jamie Thayer, Linwood “Bosshog” Monk, Dan Conway, Mike Vitatoe, just to name a few, along with a TON of the locals that made it out all cruising the streets.
Check out highlights from the different spots they cruised, product toss, foot down, broken ankles, Linwood taking a break next to a building and morein the BMX video above!

After you check out the video, take a look at a few photos Devon Denham shot during the jam as well!
Albe’s X Baco 2015 Bonfire / Rail Jam
If you haven’t caught on by now that the Baco Jam last weekend was fueled by fire, booze and bad decisions, then you probably weren’t paying very close attention. After the contest at the skatepark ended for the day, everyone headed back to the Albe’s villa for a fire. Zack Gerber decided to heat the fire up and put on his own jam with the Subrosa Street Rail OVER A FIRE. Check out what went down… I wonder who won the $50.
“Zack Gerber became the master of ceremonies at the Albe’s BMX bonfire on Saturday night at the BACO Jam in Warrens, Wi. A rail jam broke out and only one X-Games gold medalist was set on fire.* Not sure if the video or the audio is more entertaining.

*stunts performed by professionals…don’t try this at home!”
