Here are a few clips from their sessions at Northbrigade and Bowl 2.0, featuring Erik Elstran, Gary Young, Chris Childs, Aaron Ross, Alec Siemon, Jake Seeley, Brett Silva and their German teammates Daniel Portorreal, Miguel Smajli and Markus Reuss times as well have shaken a few really nice things from the sleeve. A Bike For Che – A Flatland BMX Miracle

July 7, 2018

It’s always rad to see a bunch of riders come together to help a rider out…

Here’s a video Ride BMX dropped giving us a look at how Mark Locke and a few friends got together to help a rider from Nigeria out with a new bike. We don’t see a lot of videos coming out of Nigeria, but there are definitely some talented riders down there, and Che is one of them. This video shows how this whole project came together, along with some great riding footage showing how much progress Che has made since he got the bike! Definitely an awesome story, so hit play and check this all out!

“From the creators of “One Flying Kidney” comes this truly inspiring story of a Nigerian flatlander by the name of Cherechukwu Udenkwere who didn’t have a legitimate bike. But after Shane Hawke left a comment on one of Che’s social media posts, a group of likeminded individuals pooled their resources to hook up the man with a proper flatland bike, and now he’s straight shredding!!! The BMX community is a strong and tight knit group of humans who share a passion and want nothing more than to spread the love.

Back in 2016 quite a few of us were reaching for a hankie over One Flying Kidney, the story of Stuart Crumpton, a rider with renal cancer, and the friends who raised money for Stu’s dream bike to aid his recovery. Two years on, a fighting fit Stu and team are back to pay it forward, joining forces with Ride On (a Facebook group for the discerning older rider) and French flatland company StMartin to try and help out a guy in Nigeria called Che. Che dreams of becoming a great flatlander, but on dirt streets and an old midschool ride, the odds seem heavily stacked against him.

Brian Tunney – Heaven Is Earth

July 7, 2018

Brian Tunney is back with a fresh batch of clips!

It’s always a good day when Brian Tunney has a new video to check out. You can always count on some great riding and an awesome song selection. This time is no different. Hit play and he lays down some dialed flatland combos in a few parking garages and parking lots in Austin, Texas. Get on that play button and take it all in!

“I really like this Self Defense Family song. BMX tricks from March to June of 2018. Sadly, I think this is my last riding video from Austin for a while because I’m going to be heading back to LA in September. (It’s less an end and more of a bookmark: But I will always respect and honor my time in Austin.)” – Brian Tunney

John Povah No Longer Etnies Team Manager

July 6, 2018

Well, here’s some pretty insane news. It looks like after 16 years, John Povah is no longer the team manager for the Etnies BMX program. We’ve been hearing there have been some changes and shake ups going around at Etnies for a while, and this is probably the biggest news that we’ve seen come out of it. John has been the key role in creating some of the best teams in BMX over that time span, produced a few videos you may have heard of for Etnies like “Forward“, “Grounded” and “Chapters“, bringing on riders like Taj Mihelich, Joe Rich and Ruben Alcantara to guys like Aaron Ross and Nathan Williams, and has been behind making a lot of great things happen for the brand and BMX in general. It sounds like John is leaving on a fairly positive note, but it doesn’t sound like he has a for sure plan of what’s next. We would imagine now that the news is out, it won’t be long before he gets a few offers. We’ll have to see what comes from this. Check out the post from his Instagram to bring the news…

Man, that seriously went by in the blink of eye !! 16 years in the bag and now on to a new chapter. I can’t thank @etnies enough for everything you’ve done for me, you’ve had an immeasurable impact on my life. You taught me a lot, you’ll always be part of who I am, I’m forever grateful. Thank you for allowing me to be an integral part of a brand with so much passion, it’s awesome, an amazing era in BMX and exciting to be a part of, BMX is definitely better for the brand being involved in it. And thank you to everyone in BMX who’s been supportive of me and what I brought to the #etnies brand in my time there, I’m humbled. There’ve been so many great times, memorable trips, accolades and so much achieved, I’ve honestly lost count, and with some of the best riders in the game, period ! Along with too many smart and talented people behind the scenes over the years to count, I’ll definitely miss that feeling of excitement for a new project and accomplishments that come with it, we were a great team. I’m excited to see what’s next for the brand, I’m sure it’ll be next-level as always. But as for me, I’ll be on the sidelines with etnies for a short while longer, at least for the next couple of months as a consultant, doing social media etc, but after that ? …. I’m excited and anxious for what the future holds ?? . . Much love ❤️
