“Permission Pool” – Till It’s Dark

June 15, 2016

It’s not every day that you get the chance to ride a pool and it’s definitely even fewer and farther between getting the chance to ride a pool with the owners permission. That wasn’t the case when Adam Banton had a pool that was about to undergo some heavy maintenance and gave it the all clear for a session before the work started. Hit play to check out what Drew Hosselton, Jason Lorenz, Pat Burkin, Corey “Ginja Ninja” Fedder, Matt Fisbeck, Brad Pacheco and Adam Banton all cooked up for clips during the session! Looks like it was a well taken advantage of opportunity to us!

“Arizona and pools. There are so many of them, even in the modest neighborhoods every other house has one. When they leak, they can be troublesome and have to be drained to get fixed. And that trouble is any persons opportunity with a watchful eye and good timing. The word “Permission Pool” is a phrase that releases a lot of stress and a dream come true for any rider that enjoys some carves in an empty pool. We had limited time to get a solid session in and unfortunately no pegs on the coping had to be enforce. But that didn’t stop us enjoying a basic pill shape pool. We had to get creative on the lines. But luckily the pool was old which usually means the transition is gonna be good. I invited some guys over that I knew would appreciate this rare session and keep the invite list to a minimum. We didnt set out to get crazy moves for Instagram or set out to film an edit at all actually. But in between runs I was inspired to pick up my camera and start gathering photos and film trying to capture the positive vibe that was so strong this afternoon. Some notable things happened during this session, and wasn’t just lines or tricks.

-1 rider rode his first pool.
-1 rider air’ed his first stairs.
-1 rider oppo air’ed his first stairs.
-2 riders met for the first time and became friends.
– 4 chips in the concrete were made and no one cared.
-everyone pedaled in the pool, and it didn’t matter.
-airing the forgiving stairs and casing it was always followed by high 5’s.
-Everyones hands were on their grips more than smart phones.

Hopefully you can feel the good vibe from this and go out to create your own new friends, sessions and explore all BMX has to offer. – Adam Banton

X Games 2016 – Girls Session

June 15, 2016

Although the girls didn’t get the air time like other events at the X Games, it’s not because they weren’t there throwing down. Here’s a video giving you a look at what went down in the Girls Session that went down with some of BMX’s finest ladies out on the course. Plenty of real solid riding to take in here!

“A squad of BMX ladies had a session on the X Games Park course early one morning this year. Despite almost getting rained out every morning they tried to ride, their 9am session was a fun and laid back one—and the earliest both Ryan Fudger and myself had ever been to an X Games. While I’ve known Nina Buitrago since she pretty much started riding, and I’ve had a few sessions with Dani Lightningbolt, it was cool to finally see the likes of Angie Marino, Nikita Ducarroz, Perris Benegas, Minato Oike, Ellie Chew, and Hannah Roberts all ride in person for the first time after watching them in videos. Will we be seeing a girl’s class in an actual X Games soon? Only time will tell, but from the looks of these girls on the course after less than two hours riding it, the future is foretelling…

Tall Order – Eye of the Storm – First BMX Jam

June 14, 2016

The Tall Order crew threw a jam to get everyone together for a big session. Besides some high temperatures followed up with some rain, it looks like everyone that turned out has a real good time and plenty of dialed riding. Sebastian Keep pulled out the camera to document everything that went down. Check it!

“After months of planning the day finally arrived of our jam at frontside gardens London. I flew home from Xgames in Austin on friday and Saturday morning Oli and I packed the car with prizes and our new ‘tall order” banners and headed for London.

The weather forecast said it would rain at 2pm but we hoped for the best. A big turnout of the U.K bmx scene arrived and we were on for an amazing day until suddenly torrential rain poured down on us! The huge black cloud above us was pouring rain onto the skatepark and it seemed like we were the only place getting rain.

A couple of hours later it stopped and everyone got to work on drying the park. After a lot of pushing water around with squeegee’s half of the park was dry and so the cash for tricks jam started. Everybody killed it and had fun and things got loose including Oli! Kieran Reilly who had driven down the night before with his dad and slept in the car killed the cash for tricks jam and i later heard he gave some of his winnings to 7 year old Kerr (featured at the end of the video).

This was our first attempt at holding a jam and we were unlucky with the weather but we’ll definitely be holding more jams in the future..
Thanks for watching!
