Hey everyone,I was recently given contributor duty for Bmxunion and well I’m finally posting up on here…Get used to seeing posts about Give D and S.D. from me on a regular basis. The S.D. updates have been well overdue and my apologies to Kurt for my slackin.Big thanks to Kurt for the chance to be a contributor on Bmxunion as well !! The Give D Crew and I have been puttin in work filming for new web edits and working with our sponsors to get everything legit with everything we got going on.
Ryan Sher is in town right now for a couple weeks to hang out with Hoang,Kyle and the rest of the D crew. When Ryan came out to Cali he brought the rain with him for the first few days of his stay.We tried to have a session when it was raining out,so we made some phone calls and attempted to ride the Zero Warehouse. After the first group of ours being there it seemed fine to ride, but once our car showed up with another 4 people we instantly got booted. The skaters were laying down negativity and a shitty unwanted vibe,so one of the main guys asked us politely to leave. It was easily one of the best indoor parks I’ve ever laid eyes upon and I didn’t even get to do a damn thing…Lame…Once the rain cleared up,we got some real sessions going… The D team had planned a San Francisco trip about 6 weeks ago and we had it planned out pretty well…Unfortunately the weather was against us and we had to drop our plans. So for the week we were suppose to be in S.F. we rode and filmed locally, but we did happen to make a trip to the new Desert Hot Springs Bike park.It takes a good 2 hours or so to get there from San Diego and the drive is rather boring,so we passed the time with bike videos on laptops and food sessioning. We noticed it was pretty damn cold upon arrival in this desert, but the park made it worth it .We brought a good sized crew with us and some special guests for the trip,we filmed, shot photos and had an amazing time.Desert Hot Springs is in the middle of nowhere, California and you would never think that there would be an amazing park out there or even a bmx scene for that matter. We were all pleasantly surprised in the amount of kids who rode out there, the kids were stoked to see half of the Subrosa team come through their town.Ryan and Hoang were signing autographs left and right along with the D team,it was quite a sight to see.All the kids kept clear of us and respected the space we needed to get some filming done and I thank them for that…I’m sure we’ll go back out there for another session soon and this time I’ll be sure to bring some Give D Goodies to flow out…Philly Jake flew out from P.A. to get rad with us and to help film for our upcoming web edits and the Give D Shook section. Which I believe is to begin filming in February…
I’ve been working with Odyssey and Coalition lately as parts sponsors and they’ve been a lot of help to us..I’m working on getting some of the D team sponsored by Odyssey and the others representing Coalition…We have a rather large team and I think it benefits everyone to maybe spread the D and positivity out amongst the two companies…More news on that soon…
San Diego as always has perfect weather, even during winter you can expect days to reach up to 70 degrees with sunny blue skies. This is exactly why numerous states back East may be jealous of us and is probably why a lot of people relocate here in California for the winter…Clairmont skatepark is sessioned by everyone on a normal basis being that its open everyday for bikes after 2 PM..Weekends are saved for schools and all that good street stuff that we like to film for the edits…I would advise anyone whos tired of bad weather to relocate to California if possible.I’m sure you’ll have minimal regrets if you can make it here and see what we have to offer.
In other news I was called by Crandall over at FBM and he notified me that my name was dropped at a meeting for a team manager position over at The Take…Of course I was really stoked to hear of this news and the opportunity at hand.Mike Erb sent me an email about the offer and we sealed the deal over the last email and phone call yesterday.I’m the new team brand manager for The Take…Big thanks to Mike Erb and Steve Crandall for the opportunity.I can’t wait to get things rolling with the brand and I’m ready to bring The Take way up!! As team brand manager I’ll be in charge of the team, clothing designs, design and upkeep of The Take site/Myspace and the budget…I’m going to have a really good time working on this new project and I’ll give more information as soon as it comes my way…
I believe that is all the news I have for now, expect some new things from Give D soon and some more news from San Diego…
Now watch this!!!
