Trey Jones On Subrosa!

January 4, 2018

We had a feeling Trey Jones was headed to Subrosa!

When it was announced that Trey Jones was off Cult last month, we immediately started trying to figure out where Trey Jones was headed. It didn’t take long to figure out that the only logical sponsor would be Subrosa considering how he has been on The Shadow Conspiracy for years, lives right down the street from Sparky’s Distribution and his brother, Jabe recently joined the Subrosa AM team. All the signs pointed toward Trey joining Subrosa, even though it was a real surprise to see him leave Cult in the first place! Either way, Subrosa let the cat out of the bag this morning and we’re stoked on the news (and glad we were right with the prediction since we didn’t know until this morning)! Check out this short clip that is super gnarly to bring the news and then expect a full welcome video soon!

““When I met Ron Bonner at the 2001 Roots Jam I was 8 years old. He would let me, along with other younger kids, ride the roots course in the morning before practice started. He also invited my mom and I down to Sparkys to do some school shopping which was an amazing experience for an 8-year-old kid, being able to scour the UGP clothes looking for youth sizes.

Years later, Ron asked me to ride for The Shadow Conspiracy. This changed my life completely. He took me under his wing and showed the way of the BMX industry. Ron is one of my most influential people in my life and to be riding 100% Sparkys products on my bike is an honor. I will forever be grateful to Ronnie and Ryan for this opportunity.

SFFS”” – Trey Jones

“I’ve watched Trey ride since I was just visiting Florida and riding for Shadow, long before there was even a Subrosa. Trey was a standout in the Florida scene and you could clearly see, even at a young age, Trey was good, and he loved BMX.

I’ve seen Trey ride every type of obstacle, every style of bike, and he attacks everything with a grip it and rip it attitude. His standout style is heavily influenced by all his friends, peers and idols, mixed with his raw talent on bike.

The rest of us see his amazing ability on a bike, while his is own head he’s thinking one thing… FUN. I am stoked to add Trey to a team that views BMX the same way. It’s my pleasure to introduce Trey as the newest member of the Subrosa pro team!” – Ryan Sher

Subrosa is Kyle Hart, Lahsaan Kobza, Matt Ray, Kevin Kalkoff, Simone Barraco, Joris Coulomb, and Trey Jones” – Subrosa

Jason Eustathiou – Torino City Lines

January 4, 2018

Jason Eustathious goes to work on the streets of Torino, Italy for his latest BMX video…

You can always count on Jason Eustathiou to come through with the goods. Here’s a fresh BMX video from some time Jason spent exploring the spots around Torino, Italy. We don’t see a ton of footage coming out of Italy and it’s safe to say Torino is a pretty untapped place. Based off this video, it looks like the city has plenty of great spots to ride and Jason put a bunch of them to great use. Hit play and check it out!

“We’re always hyped to see footage from Greece’s Jason Eustathiou and this time he’s been busy in the streets of Turin (or Turino if you have the euro flair), a city nestled up in the north west of Italy. Despite some drastic weather changes, broken wheels and a big slam, Jason managed to lay down a bunch of his signature tech lines. That last clip is butter!” – DIG

“Back in the end of July we visited the city of Torino in Italy along with Jason Eustathiou for bmxday jam…we thought it would be a good idea to extend the trip for a few days in search of some fresh spots. With the help of the local riders we pedaled (a lot) to some really good locations around the city, not everything came out as we planned due to some incoveniences such as weather changes (from super hot to uber rain) ,bike problems such as broken wheels and chains and non the less a big crash of Jason…of course that didn’t stop him from filming his technical lines, although he was a bit dissapointed that he couldn’t charge a couple of big moves on some really sweet rails that he had left for our last 2 days there…but in the end like in every trip, you get to see new places , ride new spots, meet a bunch of interesting people and nothing else matters!“ – Ronny Skevis

Greg Illingworth – 24 Hours In Hamburg

January 4, 2018

Greg Illingworth had a productive 24 hours in Hamburg, Germany!

Here’s a short but sweet one Greg Illingworth put together from some time he spent in Hamburg, Germany riding a quarterpipe setup he brought to a few street spots and more. As always, Greg brings a ton of speed and style to everything he does, making for a great watch. This is what a productive day looks like!

“There’s no better feeling for me than hitting a quarter to wall after pedalling flat out across a parking lot or field.
There’s no better feeling for me than hitting a quarter to wall after pedalling flat out across a parking lot or field.
It’s BMX freestyle in its simplest & most original form. Pedal the bike towards a ramp, jump out, and come back down. It feels better & better every go as you to pedal harder. Until you scare the shit out of yourself. When you ride away happy to be in one piece & laughing at yourself. Then, almost instantly you wonder if you can go a little faster again.

January 4, 2018

Proper Bike Co. came across some clips they lost of Max Chuprina riding at Simple Session last year…

“We followed Max all the way to the his 6th place in street finals at Simple Session. In the weeks following the BMX media went in to Simple Session overload. Willy Wonka’s contest.

So we sat on the footage and kept sitting until it was long forgotten. Low and behold the 2018 contest is just around the corner and we’ve now bang up for some Simple Sesion clips again!
