New DK Golf Bike Travel Bag Colors

July 24, 2017

You have a few more options for traveling in style… and to keep TSA off your back!

Anyone who has traveled with a BMX bike knows it can be a huge pain in the ass when you fly. The reason? Getting your bike through check in without getting slapped with a $200 fee because you have a bike and not a set of golf clubs… Seriously, Golf Clubs don’t get an added fee. About 10 or so years ago DK Bicycles released the Golf Bag that fit your bike and whatever else you wanted to cram into it descreatly through airport baggage check without getting slapped with the added fee. Over the years it’s stayed pretty much the same when it came to colors. The original was all black with green accents, then they switched over to black with plaid (Golfers love their plaid). If that didn’t get you excited, now you can choose from three new colors; camouflage, blue and black with red accents.

The DK Golf Travel Bag will set you back $139.99, but if you travel frequently with your bike, it’s an investment that pays off in the long run. You can get these bags from any BMX shop or mail-order that carry DK Bicycles worldwide now.

“Designed to avoid costly airline fees disguising your bike as a set of golf clubs. Made with durable rip stop materials. Features include; padded side pocket, rolling wheels, carry and pull straps, inner tie down straps and a plastic protective back.

Fits all 20” and most 24” bikes.” – DK Bicycles

Let’s Help Out The Spot

July 24, 2017

We get a lot of requests for GoFundMe type projects that are usually pretty unrealistic in the goals or just what the person running it demands, and quite honestly we usually pass on them. Today, we got a message from our friend Pierre Blondel that we couldn’t pass up. The guys at the DIY spot, The Spot, in London are looking to raise £2,000 to help maintain and continue expanding the place. It’s a realistic goal and it’s for a great place that a ton of riders have had the chance to ride over the years. If you want, you can Donate Here! More details below…

“Our Skatepark known as The Spot in Tottenham London is globally well known. After being given the go-ahead from Haringey borough council and English Heritage Trust our 13 years of hard Grafting and private funding from its keepers has us very near the completion of this amazing place. With your help we can continue to build and maintain our beloved concrete paradise. We have no financial goals other than to keep our crew, The Spot Locals, knee deep in concrete, tools and equipment for the future. Thanks for donating.”

Jakarta BMX – Sahur On The Grind 2017

July 24, 2017

There’s always something going on over in Indonesia these days. Here’s a video we had sent through by the Jakarta BMX crew from the Sahur On The Grind jam that brought together hundreds of riders for a night of cruising around the city. This starts out with a few guys talking, but we have no idea what they’re saying. After that, the video gets into the riding where the guys swarmed a bunch of spots and stacked clips along the way!

Brian Fox On Fuse Protection

July 24, 2017

Brian Fox will be padding up with Fuse Protection…

There’s no denying that Brian Fox crushes it on a bike and he’s definitely been on fire with his appearances in a bunch of contests like the Nitro World Games and X Games over the past few weeks. Brian is no stranger to sending some big tricks, which means he’s taken a heavy slam or two in his day. But, things are looking up for Brian because he’s now riding for Fuse Protection, so he’ll be padded up from helmet to ankles with some quality protection to help resist injuries. You can check out a quick Q&A with Brian about joining the team on the FUSE Protection Website!

BMX Day 2017 Johannesburg, South Africa

July 24, 2017

The scene down in South Africa has always been a good one. There’s always a steady flow of videos coming out of the place and you can bet that every year the riders all get together for BMX Day. This past weekend was no different! The locals came together in Johannesburg to spend the day exploring the city’s spots and have a good time. Colin Loudon sent over a video and a batch of photos by Grant McLachlan from the day for your viewing pleasure! Take a look at what went down!

Saturday 22 July, while the Street Series was going on in multiple continents, the bustling streets of New Town Johannesburg saw 100+ riders gather in front of Museum Africa In support of international BMX Day.

Already from the jump the warm up spot quickly turned into a frenzy of sending anything and everything down the set of stairs and getting tech on the Evals BMX flat rail to get the juices flowing before the mob headed off into the CBD.
After a quick briefing the heavy crew proceeded to pedal into the city and from that point chaos ensued as traffic was brought to a standstill in the city centre.

Private security didn’t stand a chance against a group this big which brought the perfect opportunity for those usually “untouchable spots” to be broken in.
Unfortunately this brought the attention of JMPD who tried to dismantle the group and shut down the jam completely. After a bit of smoothing over with the police, the massive crew headed to spots with less police presence. Which included a ghetto skatepark hidden in the centre of Joburg’s biggest taxi rank.

After a heavy session on the steel ramps the group made their way back down to the meet up spot to wind things down with the Ray Malinga High Hop contest hosted by Hunter.

No street jam is complete without an informal prize giving to hook the riders up who sent it during the course of the day! Shout out to Monster Energy, Evals BMX, Hunter, Skabanga Crew and 1933 Classic tattoos for making it all happen.
Thanks to everyone who made it out! See you all next year!

This past weekend was the annual BMX Day celebration that brought together riders all over the world for a full day of riding. The Street Series threw one of their jams in Philadelphia with Dan Lacey leading the pack of what appeared to be a couple hundred riders spot to spot all over the city on a scorcher of a day.
