Mat Hoffman Paints Legendary High Air Photo

There are a number of photos that might come to mind when you think about photos of BMX, but there’s one that pretty much all of you probably have burned into your mind. The insane photo of Mat Hoffman blasting the huge quaterpipe he built back in 1994 in his quest for the highest air. We have seen this photo countless times, and every time it never fails to blow our mind and keep up staring at it. As many of you know, Mat has taken up painting as a hobby of his the past few years and he’s actually really good. After getting a bunch of requests, he decided to paint the legendary photo of himself. Below you can find a timelapse video of him piecing this amazing painting together, making it looks damn close to the original photo. Take a peek!

2017 Vans BMX Pro Cup Series – Malaga, Spain Preview Featuring Sergio Layos

The second stop of the 2017 Vans BMX Pro Cup will be going off in Malaga, Spain this weekend! Here’s a little preview of what to expect from Sergio Layos who took the top spot in Sydney and has home field advantage at the Skatepark of Malaga! Expect to see plenty of amazing riding from Sergio and all the other riders that will be dropping in!

“In anticipation for a staggering lineup of BMX competition in Málaga this weekend, tour pro and winner of the Australia event Sergio Layos leads the top-seeded pros to his home country of Spain to kick off the second Vans BMX Pro Cup global qualifier event of the season.

Highly regarded as one of Europe’s finest BMX talents, Layos is one of the most respected BMX riders worldwide. After taking home gold in Sydney, Spanish pro Layos will defend his Pro Cup title at his stomping grounds, El Málaga Skatepark, often referred to as one of Europe’s largest parks for BMX riding. Joining Layos, the top 17 pre-qualified seeds from Sydney’s global qualifier event will up the ante, building suspense for the final showdown.

Ahead of the main event, the Vans BMX Pro Cup Series will continue to host the regional qualifier prelims on Saturday, May 6, open to eligible registrants from the region. The top 10 ten riders from the open competition will advance to the main event on Sunday, May 7.

Taj Mihelich – Life After Pro

Here’s one we’ve been waiting for since we heard the project was in the works! Here is the story of Taj Mihelich and what life is like after being a professional rider. There’s not much that hasn’t already been said about Taj over the years, but his undeniable impact on the BMX industry from being a professional rider to being co-owner of one of BMX’s most respected brands,Terrible One, to becoming an artist and starting Fairdale. This covers everything from how he got into BMX, his Pro career, starting his brands, his back injury that ended his career and more. Taj might be living in northern Michigan and living a more low key life, but his impact is still very much a part of BMX today. Take a look! Amazing story and excellent riding!

Par BMX – JTL Jam Highlights

The Par BMX crew are celebrating their 10 year anniversary all year long. Here’s a BMX video from the jam they threw at one of their local skateparks to get the locals all out for a full day of good times and riding. Arya Dypta – How To Feeble to Hang Five

Arya Dypta over in Indonesia hit us with a link to his latest BMX video. This time around he has a how to video explaining how to feeble to hang five. Arya is a hang five wizard, so it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about getting this done proper. The audio in this isn’t the best, but there are English sub-titles that help out a ton.
