Dan Foley – Best Phone Filming Setup For Under $15

April 27, 2017

Need a small, compact setup for filming on your phone? Here’s the best phone filming setup for under $15 according to Dan Foley…

For Dan Foley‘s latest video, he decided to give us a little insight into his setup that he uses for filming with his phone. In the video, Dan talks about the Sunpak Platinum Plus “Mini D” Tripod that he picked up for $12.99 and a cell phone mount that he managed to find at the Dollar Store for… You guessed it… A dollar. This is a pretty basic setup, but it’s probably the best phone filming setup for under $15 that you can get. Since not everyone has a Dollar Store near them, we decided to look up both items on Amazon for you. We found the Mini D tripod, but we weren’t able to find the phone mount for as cheap, but it’s available for $4.99. A little more expensive, but it’ll get the job done. Obviously, if you have a Dollar Store nearby, you should definitely take Dan’s (technically Rob Darden‘s) advice.

While we were looking, we came across two Tripod mounts for your phone that could also get the job done. One for $15.99 that includes a remote so you could start recording from a distance and then a cheaper kit that looks like it could also get the job done for you.

If you’re on the hunt for a way to film with your phone that allows you to get a good, clean shot… This might just be worth the investment. Cameras on phones these days definitely get the job done, but having a clean, shake free shot goes a long way when it comes to a BMX video that’s worth watching. There’s nothing worse than an edit filmed by a shaky hand.

Do you have any other affordable ways to get some clean shots while filming with your phone? Let us know in the comments below!

Corey Martinez – Must Dust

April 27, 2017

A few months back, Red Bull released the Raditudes: Must Dust video that featured Corey Martinez getting down in an abandoned warehouse with some colorful chalk dust to give it a unique effect. Here’s another video that surfaced that appears to be a shorter re-cut of the footage by the producer of the video. It’s pretty crazy how editing can change the look of a video. Either way, this is a real good watch and the concept is pretty cool. Take a peek!

Just incase you missed it or want to see it again, here’s the original Must Dust video!

“In collaboration with Writer/Director Josh McGowan, we made Must Dust — a meditation on where BMX and art collide. The piece is centered on embracing the obstacles that come with creating — never losing your resolve. Your voice, ambition and resourcefulness will always be the driving force behind what you do. Most importantly, the process of creating is the rewarding part; the finished product is just the result.
