It was announced today in Ryan’s latest video, and in a press release sent over by Fist, that Ryan has officially joined their team. Up top we get a video of Ryan touring the Fist warehouse in Tasmania, and then some footage from a session. Below you can get the official word on the news. Check it!
“FIST Handwear are proud to announce the signing of Ryan Guettler to the #FISTARMY “It is with great excitement we announce Ryan’s addition to the FIST ARMY”, said Sam Moore of FIST Handwear. “To have someone of Ryan’s profile and expertise both on and off the bike I feel is an amazing step in the right direction towards growing our company the right way the way not to mention that he is a legendary bloke!”
“I’m super pumped to be joining the Fist Handwear crew. I reached out to the owner Sam Moore about supporting a contest I was organizing and he got behind the event with extreme motivation and really stepped up to the plate when it came to products for the kids. After the event I took a pair of gloves to my next riding session and could not believe how good they fit and didn’t want to ever put my old ones back on. I got my roommate and friends to test them out with me and we all agreed they are the best gloves ever made”.
“I jumped online and wanted to buy a bunch more off Sam but he suggested we take it one step further and I join the already amazing BMX team. My head started spinning with ideas and now I’m fully committed to designing an amazing line of gloves for the next generation of BMX riders!! Good times ahead”.“

“This week we put a new freecoaster hub to the test and could not be more stoked on the results. Stick around for the end of the video if you’ve ever been curious about product design or working in the BMX industry.“

Crazy Five Dock Bowl Session
During the Vans BMX Pro Cup the other week in Sydney, Australia, some of the guys decided to head to Five Dock skatepark for a session in their massive bowl. Dan Foley pulled out the camera to film some of the riding that went down. With a line up of Larry Edgar, Ryan Nyquist, Dylan Lewis, Kris Fox, Jason Watts, Cody Pollard, Chris James, and Corey Walsh, you know things got wild. Check it out!
“Raw footage from one of the craziest sessions I’ve ever witnessed. After one of the practice days at the Vans BMX Pro Cup in Sydney, a heavy crew met up at Five Dock skatepark and absolutely annihilated the bowl. I had to grab the camera for a bit and document it. I guess 10 ft. airs are normal now”

Brett Silva’s “Grow Up” Section
“Gary Young is 33 years old, has been a pro rider for 15 years, and is at the top of his game. It’s hard to understand how after so much time as one of the most skilled BMXers on the planet Gary’s abilities could possibly continue to improve, but there’s no question – he’s never ridden better.
A big part of Gary’s sustained upward trajectory comes from how he keeps it fresh. Gary is nothing if not adaptable: he continues to evolve with BMX and embrace new forms of riding and changing bike setups while still maintaining his core pedal-to-the metal style of hauling ass and charging through any obstacle in his path. Gary rides everything, and he rides it at full speed and with unmatched authority.
Perhaps even more impressive, while filming for Grow Up, Gary also managed to be a devoted husband, raise a young daughter, celebrate the birth of his son Lincoln, ride in the X Games twice, and film his epic Vans Illustrated video part. If you don’t think that’s incredible, you don’t have even a passing understanding of how hard any one of those things is. Seriously, Gary’s the man, and his Grow Up part is sick.” – Walter Pieringer
