This one will definitely leave you wondering how the hell Matthias does what he does and dizzy! Check it!

“Once again I went back to the basic with this new edit: one tripod, one camera, and a couple of months to film the hardest tricks I can do on a BMX bike. As simple as that.
Filmed in Paris, Hossegor and Vigo with an Xsories tripod, and a Z camera.

Hip-less Para BMX Rider Dan “Nemo” Butler

August 16, 2016

It’s pretty amazing how many riders there are around the world that despite having the odds against them, they’re out there riding BMX! Today we stumbled across this video featuring Dan “Nemo” Butler who lost his hip joint due to infections. That problem has left one of his legs shorter than the other. But, thanks to some different crank sizes, he’s able to ride without too many problems. Above is a video giving us a little insight into his story along with a ton of really good riding from skateparks and trails spots over in the UK. It’s pretty crazy how something small like a cut can lead to bigger problems.

Filmed and edited by Max Newberry

Odyssey x Kali Protectives VIVA Helmet

August 16, 2016

It’s been really good seeing BMX Helmets getting a better reputation lately. We’re seeing more pros running them after seeing enough people catch head injuries and more kids are stoked on them because of it. It looks like there’s another reason to be stoked on BMX helmets… Odyssey and Kali Protectives have teamed up for the new Viva helmet that is not only high quality when it comes to safety, but it looks pretty rad, too! This helmet is hitting BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Odyssey and / or Kali Protectives worldwide now. The helmet is utilizes Kali’s Composite Fusion Three system that uses EPS foam and connects it directly to the ABS shell with 10 vents for plenty of air flow, anti-microbial pads, retention systemfit pads, locking buckle and adjustment sliders.

The Odyssey X Kali Protectives VIVA helmet is available in black only with sizes of Small (48-54 CM),
Medium (54-58 CM) and Large (58-61 CM) with a price tag of $54.99.

Get the full scoop direct from Odyssey below on how this helmet came about!!

“Better parts can make your riding more enjoyable and allow you to ride longer, and the same thing can be said for the equipment that’s not directly bolted to your bike. After 30 years in BMX we’ve seen what can happen when people aren’t wearing safety gear, and because of this we’re always thinking of new ways to reduce the possible chance of injuries. Developing our own helmet from scratch seemed like a massive undertaking for us as a component driven company, so we began talking directly with helmet manufacturers. Our experience has shown us that most of the stock helmets out there are very basic and traditional. As our research continued we quickly discovered Kali Protectives, a brand that has a passion for technical advancement that’s a lot like our own. Kali’s R&D team are constantly looking at what they can do to make helmets safer, thinner and more comfortable. The more we learned, the more we liked, so went to talk to them and soon found that we were both on a similar wavelength when it comes to focusing on the helmet’s safety, fit and durability. As a result of this meeting, we are very pleased to offer Kali’s proven and cutting edge technology that is found in our VIVA collaboration helmet.

THE TECH:
Kali’s patented Composite Fusion Three technology molds the shock-absorbing foam layer directly into the hard outer shell. This means that the shell and the foam work together as a uniform composite structure rather than as two separate elements. This makes for a more efficient construction, so the bulkiness of the helmet can be reduced, while the amount of protection offered by the design increases.
The result of this technology is that Kali can make helmets that offer more protection, while also being both smaller and more comfortable. By partnering with Kali we are able to bring these technological advances to BMXers at a similar price to ordinary low-tech helmets. We’re confident that you’ll be as impressed with the Viva as we were.

Scotty Cranmer – $1000 Final BMX Olympic Challenge

August 16, 2016

The final challenge from Scotty Cranmer‘s BMX Olympic Challenge has arrived! This time around they do some time trials at a BMX track, but they use a bike that is definitely NOT ideal for this track. The winner of this decides who gets the $1,000 cash price, so hit play and see just who pulled off the win and who gets the cash!

Did you catch the other challenges?
BMX Olympic Challenge – Foot Down

BMX Olympic Challenge – Long Jump

BMX Olympic Challenge – High Jump

BMX Olympic Challenge – Team Synchronized Runs

“We made it to the 5th and final event for the BMX Olympic Challenge! The standings were close enough that Matty Cranmer, Cory Berglar and Myself were all able to possibly walk away with the $1000 prize! For this event we went to the track behind my bike shop for a race! But in true Scotty Cranmer Channel fashion we weren’t going to just have a normal race I took a beach cruiser put a BMX front wheel on and put a set of ghetto Mountain Bike handlebars on and made everyone use this bike in a time trial race! Things got crazy right away! We may be good on BMX bikes but man we were sketchy on this thing! People were almost flipping the handlebars, clipping pedals in the paved berms, and pedaling that bike way faster than it ever should have been but it was awesome! After all the races were over someone walked away with the $1,000 prize, Who do you think it was??”
