Whenever there’s a street jam in a city like Paris, France, you know it’s going to be a wild one. The Performance BMX crew rounded up the sponsors and threw a big one in Paris recently, with a full day of riding, good times and even premiered their latest full-length video. “Back in September last year, our friends at Performance BMX organized a street jam in Paris, France with the support from the likes of Traffic Distribution (with WeThePeople and Eclat), RedBull, Le Comptoir Bike Shop and crews. The resulting day turned out pretty wild and so much good riding went down. We’re always stoked when Andy Maguire drops a new video. Here’s a fresh one he put together with over 20 minutes of footage he collected while out riding with friends around the San Jose area. ““Over the hill” is a common phrase in Santa Cruz used to refer to the 20-30 minute drive over the winding and often heavily trafficked Highway 17 into San Jose. For many locals, San Jose might as well be the other side of the world. “Over the hill” is also an expression used to describe someone as passed their prime. A few weeks shy of turning 37 and still riding BMX, I sometimes feel this way as the sessions get shorter, my muscles get more sore, and the time to ride gets fewer and far between. However, the last two years have left me very energized to ride as a way to maintain friendships, fulfill goals, and bring positivity to a world that seems to get bleaker by the day. This video celebrates the many trips over the hill by either myself or my riding homies that live on the other side, and to appreciate the greater world outside of our respective bubbles. Finally, the passing of our beloved BMX brother, Jeff Murphy, further helped me respect the precious moments we create on our bikes, as well as the love the BMX community brings to help us through even some of the darkest times. It has been a little while since we’ve seen Bora Altintas‘ name pop up, and it turns out he was healing up from a broken ankle. Now that he’s back, he has been putting in work on a bunch of dream setups that he wanted to ride that lead to some great clips. This is definitely one BMX video you’ll want to check out!
