There’s a time when every BMX rider thinks about having their own signature frame or product, or even starting their own brand. Most of the time those ideas or goals don’t end up happening, but every now and then there is somebody out there that finds a way to make it happen. Karl Hinkley is one of those people who likes to make his dreams a reality. Over the years Nowear went from a couple t-shirt designs, to Karl going all in on making frames, bars and other parts that he wanted to see happen. These parts definitely stand out, and ultimately Karl has been able to build up a bike of his very own. During the 10th annual Cornhuckit Jam, Brant Moore caught up with Karl to take an in-depth look at his current brakeless setup. Ride Further Tour: Munich

The Ride Further tour is back!

Here’s a BMX contest that we haven’t seen in a while! The Further crew have started their Ride Further Tour back up and kicked things off in Munich, Germany! Check out highlights from this packed day with a ton of amazing riding and good times. The weather might not have been perfect, but it still looks like it was an awesome event. Check it!

“It’s been a long time since the last
Ride Further Tour, so when we had the idea of doing an event at the brand-new Lohhof skatepark, we thought about doing something special by going back to what we all enjoy: BMX in its variety of different riding styles!
Because of the rain we had to change our plans from an overall skatepark contest where street, park and bowl would be combined to sessions at certain dry parts of the park. But that way AMs got to ride with the Pros which got a lot of the locals stoked.
Our MC Max Henning was handing out Cash 4 Tricks at each session but we also crowned the best lines, hardest trick and overall/ rider’s rider.
Emma Silva got a special award, but check out the video why.
Even with all the rain it was a fun and good weekend for BMX and at least nobody got sunburned! 😉

Women are taking BMX by storm!

Over the past few years it seems like women riding BMX has absolutely exploded. There’s so many new ladies popping up on bikes and crushing it. The Cliche Crew over in Europe is the first BMX crew consisting of all women that we’ve heard of, and they’re definitely crushing it. Check out this new 8 minute mix filled with real solid riding and good times they got into along the way.

“So hyped on this eight minute video from The Cliché Crew ( @theclichecrew ), filmed in Barcelona and Cologne with Emma Finnegan, Francina Fernández, Anahi Arevalo, Jorid Eilts, Wibke Vogel,
Linda Grabner and Teresa Grauten, who also filmed and edited the whole project.

“We started the Cliché Project because we realized that there are no videos that are completely done by girls. So we wanted to change that and create something that we can be proud of and represents BMX in our opinion. The name “Cliché“ came into our minds because on one hand, there are many stereotypes in women’s BMX we want to break with this video project. On the other hand, we want to create a solid BMX video that fits the stereotypes of a street video.

We went on two trips. For the first one we went to Barcelona for ten days in February and for the second one we went to Germany in July. The first few days we spent in Hannover and the rest of the trip in Cologne. Most of us met for the first time in Barca but everyone immediately got along really well. It was a new experience to go street riding with a bunch of girls and it was really cool to see how every girl got out of her comfort zone and pushed her limits. Besides riding we made a bunch of good memories being seven girls in a two bedroom apartment. Cooking together, watching the clips we filmed, talking, annoying each other, dancing and just enjoying each other’s company.

Huge shout out to Vans, WeThePeople and Kink for making this project possible and all the local guys who supported us. We hope this video inspires young girls to go out in the streets with their friends, pick up a camera and just have fun on their bikes.” – The Cliché Crew

The 2022 Backyard Jam series continues over in the U.K!

As expected, the Backyard Jam has been absolutely amazing this year. The fifth stop of the year took over Junction 4 Skatepark that has an incredible outdoor plaza and covered ramps. Here’s a video Ride UK put together from the weekend of crazy riding from Pro’s to the AM’s and young guns. You won’t want to miss this one!

Mongoose Dirtvana Jam at The Riveter

This past summer the Mongoose team rolled out to The Riveter in North Carolina to throw their Dirtvana jam! Here’s a look at what went down during the jam with a full day of riding and good times from the Pro’s to the locals and young guns. This place looks like soooo much fun to ride! Check it!

“The Mongoose Dirtvana Jam was a one-of-a-kind event hosted by The Riveter in Mills River, NC. It was an action-packed day of dirt riding and good times, which embodies what BMX is all about! Mongoose pros Kevin Peraza, Nikita Ducarroz, Ben Wallace, Pat Casey, Mykel Larrin, Josh Hult, Payton Ridenour and Mason Hayes were all in the house to meet and ride with amateurs and celebrate the sport they love.
