The Head Angle Podcast – Brandon Loupos

February 28, 2020

The latest episode of The Head Angle Podcast has arrived. This time around Tom Boorman and Matt Holmes sat down with Brandon Loupos to talk about everything from how he got into BMX to where he is today bouncing around the world riding contests and getting ready for the Olympics. This one is 2 and a half hour long, so there’s a TON covered in this one, so hit play and get to know Brandon a little better!

“From his first steps into BMX at age 11 to becoming the first UCI World Champion just 15 years later, Brandon Loupos has chased a dream that many said was impossible.

His drive and single minded focus is a far cry from his school years, netting him X-Games gold and showcases just how following a passion can lead to greatness. Especially if you’re prepared to sacrifice everything.

The once ‘Mini Mirra’ has overcome more than a few challenges and is now on track to represent Australia in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, writing his own place in BMX history alongside his cherished childhood idol.

And while the stakes are now higher than ever, it’s his straight up love for riding that keeps it all in check.

We’re more than a little stoked to bring you this insight into a rider who wants to bring more to BMX and his legacy than just that iconic gold medal.

Talking to the past, present and future of BMX in Australia.
The Head Angle is an Australian BMX Podcast hosted by Tom Boorman & Matt Holmes.

Rob Ridge – Strong Arm Tactics

February 27, 2020

It has been a fairly slow day for BMX videos today, but this completely makes up for it! Rob Ridge just dropped a brand new video that we didn’t see coming and it’s an absolute banger. As always, Rob comes through with the most amazing technical ramp riding, with crazy flatland / ramp riding hybrid tricks with no shortage of front brake magic! This is such a good watch from start to finish with clips from a ton of different parks. Hit that play button because BMX needs more of this!

“When you have been around long enough to see things come & go, and come back again. Putting 2 fingers up to being talked into old age an unapologetic celebration of influences & styles from an ever distant era blended into….well, what we have here. Laid onto a classic Gary Numan track, headbands, bright colours, the odd trippy video effect. Hopefully this captures some of what it was like to grow up & never lose sight of the fun, energy & excitement of the 80s. Enjoy the (ridiculous) show !” – Rob Ridge
